Household Pets. Got any?

trip

Recommended Posts

Nothing beats a good dog to have as a friend if you ask me. Sad thing is I don't have a dog right now. I grew up in an animal family, and was lucky to have a super cool job all through my younger working life that involved animals. I take pet ownership very seriously.

Do you ever look around your house and think 'this is weird. we have weird furry creatures walking around the house.'?

Currently we have 5 cats*. Lucy(17), Jack(14), Pip, Muntz, and Tim(brothers 7). A well established kio pond of over 10 years with: Murry, Norm, Kate, Sue, and Curtis.

So let all of your GTAF brothers and sisters know how weird your are with you pets....

*I'm not one of those cat freaks - trust me. The three brothers are rescues my wife couldn't give up when it came time to place them. Otherwise, I would be normal with 2 cats. The current deal now is no more cats and we are getting a Newfoundland when we get back down to 2 cats.

The relationship with me and my dog is more like a sibling one, she doesn't listen much to me. But being that I'm bigger when it comes down to it she will, but she still gives me sh*t some times.

I've got 7 cats. tounge.gif

We never really planned it, but one day after a couple of months of waiting our 3rd cat (now deceased sad.gif ) gave birth to 5 beautiful kittens.

We didn't have the heart to sell them on, so here we are with 5 cats of the same litter, a British blue shorthair and a British blue cream taught crossbreed.

So, going from oldest to youngest:

Ruby. She's the British Blue cream taught, and she's about 4 and a half years old now. user posted image

Sapphire. She's a British Blue pedigree, although she doesn't act like it at all. tounge.gifuser posted image

The 'kittens'. They're about 3 and a bit years old now.

Eboney. It's hard to take photographs of her, she's too black. ph34r.gif

Pearl. She always sits like that, with her paws just in that little thingy.

user posted image

Jasper. He's a bit of a porker. Infact no, he's a big fat porker. turn.gif

user posted image

Amber. She's the smallest, and she's a little squirt. tounge2.gif

Ringo. He's quite nervous, but he's really really sweet.

Honestly, nobody knows. She's very old too, but most people would never guess.

Better let them in, they might catch swine flu. moto_whistle.gif

Haha, Starion, your cat likes to lay in cardboard boxes too?

Yeah, they love boxes.

Whenever we buy something that comes in a box, the first thing the cats do is investigate it. turn.gif

I got one dog, one cat, lots o' fish, 2 birds and 2 rabbits.

Could not be bothered posting any pics but my dogs a Staffordshire Bull-Terrier named Morley, cat's name is Zoe, she's 1/2 Russian Blue 1/2 Domestic Long-Hair. Birds are both Cockatiels, named Flicka and Pippa (the're my sisters). Rabbits are named Paris and Nicole (Rabbits are also my sisters, this explains the stupid names)

We did own a Snake 7 or 8 years ago, he was a Diamond Python named Sylvester. Had to give him away cause he was getting to big and could of killed someone.

I have an epileptic 11 year old Jack Russel named Maisie and a 19 year old cat called Smudge. The dog doesn't like me unless my mum isn't around and the cat stays in the house and loves everyone.

Omnia sunt Communia

When you say household pets, do you only mean pets who live in the house with you? Because if that's the case then I have:

  • A mungrel, named Joey
  • A cat, named Snowy
  • A cockatoo, named Dave (I think)
But if we're talking about pets, in general, then I have (along with the ones posts above):
  • 13 goats, named Bobby, Ginny, Acorn, George, Gina, Goaty, Florence, Dick, Bromwyn, Candy, Sapphron, Sooty and Henry
  • Roughly 20-odd Guiena pigs
  • Around about 20 chickens
  • Somewhere along the lines of 20-30 bantams
  • Two Kune Kune pigs

I've actually found a green tree frog on my dad's car.

I took care of it for like a month, I catched moths for it to eat and stuff, good fun.

We dont have any pets in our house but both our neighbors do and since they jump the fence and hang around in our garden ill list them here.

Max + Rebel - Patterdale terriers, still young and they get mad excited when i walk by them.

Millie + Floyd - Two pitbulls that are always barking and i think they want to eat me.

Nando + Flossy - Two sh*tzus who always come in my house with my neighbor

and Roxy - Ridgeback/pitbull cross, came from an abusive owner and is really timid, she could quite easily eat me but runs away when i shout at the patterdales.

and they have 3 parrots, two african greys and someother one. They are fantastic cause all of them speak and say different things.

Muntz - Rescued at 2 weeks by my wife. Now about 7yrs old.

Nicknames include,

Smiley Face, Floppy Ears, Soft Bottom and Stoopid Leg [he hurt his leg a while back, the rest are self-explanitory (sp?)].

...And...

Duchess (Our first dog was Duke so it was only fitting to call the bitch Duchess),

Nicknames include,

Couch Potato [she occasionally lies on the couch in the hall] and Baked Potato [derived from the first because she's a golden/brown colour].
