Wasn't this supposed to be shown at gamescom? The community is usually very good at following stuff like that. Rockstar was scheduled to have a showing but no word. If LA Noire is pushed back further then it runs the risk of being another Duke Nukem (Super delayed)

No , it wasn't supposed to be shown at Gamescom to the public . It might have been shown behind the close doors as what happened in E3 , when Rockstar showed the game in a secret room that's only permitted to special journalists and special video games developers . It was shown secretly for special guests to demonstrate the new revolutionary facial animations system . We can expect a public demonstration of the game later this year , and I hope it's sooner than what I expect .

They said something about L.A Noire being very expensive to develop. If that is the case then they will have to release it on as much systems as they can. Maybe even on PC. If not, then f*ck Rockstar.

Looking forward to LA Noire? I know I am. And in the spirit of the game. I have compiled a list of gruesome crimes featuring Hollywood stars and personalities from days gone by. Crimes and events I see playing into LA Noire. So, let's take a trip to Bloody Hollywood.

And if Hugh Grant tells you to get in his car, just do what he says, the guy's loaded.

 

Black-Dhalia

Elizabeth Short was a struggling waitress in LA, but will forever be known for her brutal demise. She was found with a Chelsea grin and had been cut in half, like some magician's trick gone horribly wrong. The murder has been a very popular subject in film, and I see Rockstar creating a case very similar to it.

 

The Fatty Arbuckle Case

Fatty Arbuckle was a star of the silent movie era, a gragarious and popular fellow who seemed to have a bright future in Hollywood. However, when he retired to bed with a woman called Virginia Rappe it all went wrong. Rappe was dead and Fatty was the prime suspect. Although he was found completely innocent, it destroyed his career. And lurid rumours spread that he had suffocated her with his enormous girth and some even suggested that he had raped the dead girl with a broken bottle. A comedy star who is in reality a violent sexual predator is exactly the kind of dark character Rockstar excels at creating.

 

George Reeves suicide

George Reeves was an actor who like many after him, found himself landing a role he could never escape from. Reeves played the role of Superman in a 1950's TV show and thereafter found it hard to shake the image of the costumed superhero. After a night of drinking, he supposedly shot himself in his home. The problem is, his family have vigirously argued that he would never kill himself. And this death remains somewhat of an unsolved mystery in Hollywood. More frivilously is the supposed 'Curse of Superman' that afflicts anyone why plays the role on TV or in a movie. Rockstar, with their sharp humour, could have a field day with this.

 

The Hollywood Sign Girl

Peg Entwistle was born in Wales and moved to America in order to acheive the American dream: Fame and Fortune.

To this end, she begun a career on Broadway and made some progress, getting good reviews and being considered better than the plays she appeared in. Eventually moving to Hollywood, she starred in her one and only film Thirteen Women.

However, Entwistle was a troubled woman and in 1932 she decided to end it all. Using a workman's ladder, she climbed to the top of the 'H' of the Hollywood sign and plunged to her death.

Years later, people still claim to see a ghostly woman around the sign. Dressed in clothes from the 1930's.

In the game, a mysterious suicide atop the Hollywoodland sign could be a particularly grisly, unsettling case. But what's more intriguing is the idea of ghost sightings around the area. It might not be a mission but it woud be a great Easter Egg for the game.

You seem to have no idea how important a publisher is for a project. But sure let's go over this again since you don't seem to have understand what I explained to you earlier. Since Rockstar is the publisher they also take care of marketing strategies, because that is mostly what publishers do. Now, R* wants to draw all the buzz away from both previous and future projects in order to make the game popular and have that "must have value". Otherwise it won't sell as good as it could have done.

I'm well aware of everything you said, but after so much time waiting for this (four years?), I have little faith that the game is nearing completion levels to be up to that kind of work. Besides, that means that its release date might be further than some of us are anticipating, which is worrying even more if we consider that Agent is next in the pipeline.

I have been waiting days and days, looking forward any hint or news about the game on Rockstar's website, and here it's, the first trailer that has been in production for a very long time!

 

Nothing equals to Rockstar's hype, they keep you amazed all the time.
