Please use spoilers if your giving your opinions on the ending. We don't want to go in to the ending with predjudice because of what some of you have said. Thanks

Can anyone tell me what the black and whites for the badge challenge is for?

In a pm so nothing to other members gets spoiled, please

the nagatives in game show certain locations where the badges can be found. Kinda like a treasure hunt. Find the location depicted on the film strips and there'll be a badge nearby. Simple!

The only true wisdom is in knowing you know nothing.

@arexi or whoever asked where i ordered LA noire from, i ordered from VPD (åland thing) on monday(week ago), that was 4 days to release of La noire and still didnt get it on release date, and i didnt get it today neither, so ended up cancelling the order and buying it 5e more expensive from local store D:

who makes the calls on interrogations? Is it really coop or singleplayer +friend? Because Coop might sound fun on paper nothing takes the fun away more than taking a backseat for someone else. There is a very big reason your AI partner stands by while you do all the work.

You could collaborate, take a question each, whatever. I'm sure if they took the time to consider it they could come up with a way to implement it effectively.

Are you sure they even dispatched it? They ran out of their initial stock and are restocking in a few days. You either pre-ordered too late or live super far from Turku.

I could see it working.

It's funny because my girlfriend usually b*tches when I play xbox, but she always wants me to play this game because she said it's like watching a movie. It really does keep you guessing all the time. icon14.gif

No wonder they "f*ck it up" if you order them a day or two before the initial release day. If you ordered it on monday, that's only 4/5 days, depending on how you look at it, and by that time the game has been easily sold out.

And the co-op: paper design. Great on paper. In game... not so.

I just spotted a semi-serious problem. Don't a game's achievements have to be fully unlockable? Well, then why is the condition for unlocking "the Printer's Devil" completing "A Slip of the Tongue"?! Isn't that a DLC bonus? Shouldn't that achievement be part of the DLC or something, like with TLAD and 'omo Tony?

There are 5 achievements in L.A. Noire A Slip of the Tongue dlc including 4 secrect.

The Printer's Devil--Complete 'A Slip of the Tongue'.

Secret Achievements

Femme Imbécile--Correctly branch every question in the interview with Jean Archer.

Chop Shop--During the Industrial Street raid, kill a goon by shooting the hanging engine block.

Nowhere In A Hurry--Catch and arrest Cliff Harrison before he is stopped by uniformed backup.

Racing For Pinks--Find and inspect all of the Marquee-printed pink slips

What's the gamerscore without the DLC? It should be 1000 - people with the DLC shoul be able to get 1100gs.

So, plotholes?

I'm really confused when it comes to the Dahlia copycat, he left messages like "f*ck you BD. Tex." and just now i realised that the guy who was in the army with Cole and Kelso (the same guy who of course burned down all those houses and went insane.) was called Tex, and yet they made no mention of it. The storyline other than that was great, I really like Roy Earle's character, in a sort of 'love to hate' kind of way. I don't like how people are making him out as the villain because he messed up Cole, I'm glad he did, Cole had it coming. I can't help but feel that they sort of rushed the ending, Cole's death just seemed like it was thrown in.

+ so many people are crying fowl that this game "sucked and is boring and NO MULTIPLAYER WAH"

I haven't really bothered to read the topic as to avoid spoilers, but they could have relatively easily implemented co-op. A friend takes control of the partner, can find clues at the scenes, even implement a good cop/bad cop style interview system. Would've been fun.

Maybe if they make another game that's like this they'll at least throw that in. While I'm against multiplayer for this game, co-op would've definitely been fun.

To be honest they brought something unique to the markets so yeah, for a sequel/DLC it would be good. I wouldn't mind coughing up some dough for it.

Also MOAR CASES! =D I want to keep on playing forever (got it today my own copy YAY).

Spaghetti Cat

enjoying the game...

...but...

Anyone else having problems with the driving mechanics? It seems a touch too sensitive, is there an adjustment somewhere?

I'm also having trouble with the cover system. Seems like the cover system was copied from IV, and we all know how that worked out.

Otherwise having a good time!

Vanilla Shake

I'm replaying all of the cases now to try and get 5 stars on each one and notice things that I might have missed in my first run through of the game.

Even after I've beaten the game it still pulls you right back in.

Doing the same now and seriously I'm starting to get pissed off at how damned stupid some of the TRUTHDOUBTLIE interviews are. Some people are just complete wildcards, and some of the evidence you might have to present is just so far-fetched at times. I mean, in traffic, that movie star stares at you with a 100% straight face which is a sign of truth (and no twitching either, I looked at her looping animation for a long time) for the last question where she says "let me and my husband handle Bishop" but hurr hurrrrr you have to take doubt for no reason at all.

Oh, and yes, I just quit the game to the Dashboard and restarted it. I've done this so many times today... they should have made this integral part of the game more consistent.

As far as I remember, the game doesn't even tell you that doubt often actually means withholding some information, not outright lying "but you just don't have evidence",

One of the best lines in the game...

Rusty Galloway:"c*nt is all about access, Phelps. Your married. Yours is mortgaged. Some of us like to pay by instalments. This guy (the killer) doesn't like to pay at all!"

Just finished it this evening. And I agree with those of you saying that the ending was a bit abrupt, with (warning, huge spoilers coming up) that whole scene in the sewers and Cole's death. It just didn't feel as smooth as the rest of the game. I was really looking forward to closing the whole game off with a bitchin' interrogation, but alas.

I've noticed a few quirks along the way. My partner always seems to end up getting stuck in the most unusual places. I lost Roy of sight once, and found him standing on top of a shed, unable to find a way down, and Herschel bugged out at one point, so instead of sitting in a chair, he stood on it with his arms out to the side.

Also, could any of you check your max speed listed in the statistics? Mine's been stuck at 83.07 mph since one of the earlier cases, and I can't seem to change it. It's odd, though. Even the fastest cars don't seem to be able to go very fast. I tried beating my stat in the Dusenberger which is noted for a top speed of 140 mph, but to no avail.

Does player has a safehouse in the game and how things work when you want to save your game?

Bloody hell, some of you seem to be flying through this game yet i'm still floating around the homicide cases.

Due to my reckless driving my final score is getting a battering haha.

Hmm.. does any of the damage you cause actually affect your rating? I just did one case with all question but only one clue missing, and a bit shy of $1000 in damage, and got the valorous rating. biggrin.gif

this lady acted like she was doped up and poured the sweetness at you because you were the one handling the interview, but then very quickly and lucidly snapped at your partner, who was complementing her. i got the impression that she was trying to smooth talk you, and that she was totally faking the doping - her attitude with your partner clued me in that her personality wasn't as sweet as she was making out to be. keep in mind that she was a movie actress, so you'd expect her to be able to control the facial twitches etc that might give other POI's away. context, dude. i didn't trust her at all once she started talking like that.

use truth when you believe they aren't holding back on you.

use doubt when you think they're being evasive, or if you think they're lying but there is no way to contradict them with evidence. basically when you don't want to use truth but you can't prove it's a lie, or it's an omission rather than a lie.

use lie when you have evidence that can show they are lying.

i've logged out/logged back in to profile a couple times too lol - but given the context, and thinking more about what testimony i already had and evidence i'd collected, i think the truth/doubt/lie makes good sense most of the time. i haven't finished the game yet to be fair.

I just had a geekgasm doing the first Arson case. A little Season 3 Angel renunion going on Keith Sjarbaska and Vincent Karthreiser both in the show at that time. I almost didn't recognise them if it weren't for their voices I wouldn't have.

So much great star power in this game.
