There has never been DLC I have felt warranted my money.

I noticed the other day how Mafia II's DLC was half price on XBL. I had to think long and hard before finally deciding NOT to buy it. They really, really f*cked us over with that sh*t and I'm not buying DLC for any game unless it looks the business (I can't fault the efforts of the Fallout people but again, you wonder, why isn't this stuff all included in the game in the first place?)

I have just moved my DLC/Online access thoughts to the other thread.

 

I actually came into this post to talk about the free dlc. I am going to order the game now (I'm in the UK, release is Friday) and cant decide between the one with the Slip of the Tongue mission or the one with the Naked City mission.

 

What are peoples thoughts?

I believe LA Noire is out tomorrow in North America.

 

Can any xbox 360 user answer me a question:

 

The game comes on 3 disks.

 

1 - Can you install all three discs so you don't have to change discs (but i assume you'd have one disc in to play still)

 

2 - How much space is needed to install the three disc, if you can?

 

I'm wanting this game when it's out over here. but I'm worried if i can even play it on my HDD (I install all my games because the disk drive is too loud! )

What is the REAL reason games are always released in Europe three days later than in North America, on Fridays? Not even Michael Pachter knows the answer.

 

I think it's just another case of Americans f*cking us in the ass out of spite. Like when they sell their little iPhones here, they will only change the $ sign to € or £ even if the euro was a billion times stronger than the weak dollar. So we pay a 30% higher price.

 

 

I'm asking this because I'm not 100% confident if the store I pre-ordered the game from will get it to me by Friday. They haven't let me down before, hell, I even got RDR a day early but the thing is, I ordered through their tax-free Åland warehouse, which means it takes 3 days instead of the usual 1 for first class mail to get here... and they didn't stock up today. So here's hoping they'll get their first shipments tomorrow and send my copy as well, because if they send it on Wednesday, it'll get here Monday NEXT WEEK which is just unacceptable for me, so I'll have to go to an electronics/game store and just get a copy, but without the pre-order bonus pack. Then I'll have to mess around with returning the pre-order copy, because getting this game on Monday is NOT an option for me! All of this just because of some bullsh*t publisher decisions to release games on Friday, conveniently so that the post office may just narrowly miss delivery and you'll have to wait the whole weekend with your thumb up your ass!

2. 360 DVDs can hold up to 6.8GB of game data, so the space needed for a complete install could be anywhere up to 20.4GB. Some assets are present on all 3 discs, though, so it's likely to be less than that.

He's just showing off what we do in this game, and he's doing a case which is 'The Fallen Idol' and walked through it on some parts. Pretty good intro for anybody that's interested at this game that still have some doubts.

Pre-ordered with GAME on Sunday. They're notorious for delivering them a day or so early, so hopefully I'll be shaking down lowlifes come Thursday! If not, I won't mind waiting for Friday...much.

 

And surprisingly, I don't mind not being able to pull out a gun or punch a civilian any time I wish. I'm much more partial to just cruising round 40's LA. And considering the sheer size of the map, I can safely say there's going to be plenty to cruise around.

I know, man. It's awful. I can't really put my mind to anything as it's just stuck in my head.

 

That video was amazing. I really liked the way he made sure there are no spoilers but a nice but of info to keep me happy. It truly looks wonderful and the map is f*cking huge looking.

Pity you can't run over people. Even just for the laugh.

Glad, it's cleared up that this is truly a use-your-brain game. I was desperate to find a game that is set like a GTA (the real world) that's not all about shooting guns every two seconds, but a rather chilled game that I can take my time with whilst using my brain and following a great story.

I've been playing Red Dead's story again to try and dwindle the time down but i finished it already, started to early haha.

 

 

Spoiler regarding crime:

Pity you can't run over people. Even just for the laugh.

 

To be expected really wasn't it...

 

Even though the video didn't show any spoilers i really tried not to give in and watch it but i broke down . It's looking fantastic and even the main menu with the shadows on the walls in the alleyway looks quality (not really a spoiler but just in case).

 

Reviews seem pretty damn good as well.

Really hoping that at some point, probably at the end of the game, it will let you freeroam and dick around as you please, but the fact you can't really kill anybody only adds to the immersion. You're a cop, tough luck.

Hmm. Well I better finish off my playthrough of RDR and uninstall that bad boy, along with GTA (seeing as how i havnt played it since March). fingers crossed it's not that much

You know, I didn't even think of looking at any of the reviews until a friend told me to check out IGN's review. Well, I didn't, and I don't really care about the Metascore either. With a game like RDR that got 98 or whatever on Metacritic, people still bash it because it's TOO GOOD OLOLOL and now this one will also get the same bullsh*t treatment. I'm just not the person to put up with such bullsh*t, so I'll just play the game.

 

The only reviewer who doesn't piss me off is Angry Joe. Damn his reviews are to the point and I just happen to agree with him so often.
