senneken
Hi all, My Ford GT is almost finished, all I need to do is editing some textures and stuff, and replacing the wheels. Ok, I thought to do that today. Seems to not work out as I planned. xD Here's the story: I deleted the whole rim part of the turismo, but I didn't delete the tire. So the wheel of my ford had only a tire, no rim. In-game, it worked fine. I had a tire which was on the right place and the tire blew up, and it drove on the rims (which were invisible). But then, I took the rim of the model I'm using, and attached it to the tire (wheelmesh) or something like that, and gave it the Paint1[CLR1] just to try. In Zmodeler it looked fine, it was just the tire of the turismo with a custom Ford GT rim. But in-game.. It looked like this. The body part moved away from the rims, and there still isn't a custom rim visible. When I try to get in, the car sinks in the ground. Now I was wondering if anyone could explain to me how to get a custom rim in-game without bugs.. Because I tried some other things as well, but they always bugged. Any help would be greatly appreciated , Senne
Costar
Just a shot in the dark, have you thought of maybe just replacing the whole tire/rim w/ another one, say, even one from another vehicle in the game, to see what it does ?
senneken
No I didn't, Might try it out later today. I hope it gives another result as this, when I replace the whole wheel including tire from the ford. But I wanted to just replace the rim, so that the tire stays the way it is. The tire is perfect, and I don't want any bugs. Plus, I'm not that good with textures yet, and since the tire is textured itself.. A lot more easy. chasez
The wheel will be ok if you will change it to some of the original wheels from the game cause the wheels are attached with texture that is in vehshare.wtd. The new material and texture causes the custom wheels to fail, you gotta name them as ''tire'' and you will need normals map and spec map to create normal wheel. Costar
Thats whats confuzzlin me, where is the rim itself, I member lookin in vehshare & there is only the tire, no rims, they're also not in the file under the vehicle texture so where are these ? Now here, this is the Nissan someone made that I replaced turismo w/, but assuming he uses same tire, he has the replacement rim in here, so makes me curious how he can put it in here when R* has the original one for the car someplace else, there appears 4 files associated w/ it.. Did you do your custom rim like he has here senneken ? Are the "normals" map the ones you see w/ the object made light purple ?
grandtheftauto1233
ah.. keep the original wheel model on the car.. when replacing it.. just replace the wheel model.. and just for the LF one.. and move it to line up with the original.. when u move them all .. the dummys are in the incorrent place.. and you get a bug like you have... soo just move the model of the wheel.. and only the LF and you should be OK as long as you dont touch the dummys
