WOOHOO!!! I never really thought that when I made this new thread (after A/G War II) that it would ever make it to 100 pages.

 

I know it had been a very long time since this was played, but when it was, it was a BLAST! (literally) Can't say for Xbox side, but I think it is safe to say that over 100 ppl played in these matches over the last 2 years or so and we probably had 50 or so matches (maybe more).

 

And I promise this will get doing full blast again when V comes out (assuming this is still viable for it)!

Yep, this was one of the biggest and most frequent events. Lot of different people played in it, lots of epic moments. We should DEFINITELY bring this back come GTA V (if Rockstar lets us)!

Have you ever played A/G on TBOGT? It's not pretty... Actually, it is pretty but if the game kept score (which it doesn't, because the attack heli's are only on freemode), it wouldn't look pretty for the ground troops. Yes, it is spectacular and good for a laugh, but there isn't really much of a competition.

Have you ever played A/G on TBOGT? It's not pretty... Actually, it is pretty but if the game kept score (which it doesn't, because the attack heli's are only on freemode), it wouldn't look pretty for the ground troops. Not only that, but the lag on explosions would make explosive rounds next to useless. These weapons are meant to easily deal with the Buzzard, but they fail due to lag.

If you shoot down a Buzzard pilot, the pilot sucks or you get a insanely good shot with a sniper (which is very hard)

A good pilot in a Buzzard is impossible to shoot out from ground, first off he can spam the machine gun all he wants and the rockets make your screen shake even thou they are very far away which makes it hard to aim.... Bottom line, it's so hard it's unfair. The only right way to play A/G War is on Original IV

with the explosive sniper, I dont gotta hit dead on, just on the buzzard and it screws up their flight pattern, also as everyone knows a few shots to the buzzard glass which is huge will cause it to start smoking. I have never met a pilot with enough guts to hang in there either. One hit and they run for health.

It seems like we have enough interest on both PS3 and Xbox sides to have a reunion game. That is, if D12 and AoD are willing to support it to get the numbers up. This might also be a good opportunity for the Boondogglers to get started.

 

I also realized that me and Chris are now able to play on both consoles. Maybe me and him could team up and host both matches together?

The Advanced MG (M249 LMG) sucks in multiplayer! Both the AK-47 and M4 do 30 damage per shot, and they shoot 450 rounds per minute. This is 225 damage per second. The Advanced MG does 15 damage per shot, and it shoots 900 rounds per minute. This also does 225 damage per second. . . in single-player. The Advanced MG has its rate of fire reduced to 600 rounds per minute in multiplayer, and that doesn't make sense since it already faced quite high recoil in single-player. I always tap fire with automatic weapons, but the Advanced MG just doesn't work well with tap firing (you can't shoot nearly as fast as the assault rifles it seems).

well for me personally I have as much success with the saw as I do the m4/ak when battling pilots

I am technically not on LIVE yet (catching up on money after Xmas...lol) but I should be fairly soon. Have really wanted to try this (and a cpl other events) on 360.

 

And D12 is slowly making its way back to its roots.

 

We are doing TW Thursdays again, which seems to really be a multi-mode nite to get our RDR D Wild Bunch members into GTA (played mostly CnC last Thursday).

 

Maybe we could work an A/G match into that night sometime. I'll ask them about it.

 

I miss the SHREDDER!!! lol

 

It is really about finding the Elite Pilots again, tho, as A/G was only really fun with the best Pilots (for PS3, anyway).

 

Anyone seen CHARGER or johnwontscore lately? I still have SeniorBobby on my list, but not sure if he is still flying IV...

That's quite true. If you have dealt with a Buzzard and an Annihilator spawn killing you in a single Free Mode (considering they're atleast somewhat skilled), the Annihilator with explosive rounds is much more annoying. You basically have no chance to even aim at the cockpit before you're shot down (or upwards into the sky). The Buzzard usually allows you to get a few shots at it.

DTW5 should be over second week of March, so I am thinking I will organize a PSN "Reunion A/G War" sometime in April.

 

I will start making contact with all the Elite Pilots I can still find in mid March. I am pretty sure i can get a hold of 8 or 9 of them (still play BF43 on the AllPilotsMustDie account), so if just 4 or them agree, I will update teh OP in this thread to start the Ground Troops recruitment.

 

Was going back and reading the first two A/G threads. We had some damn good times!

 

And hopefully, if we have a successful reunion, it won't be as hard to put another together when V comes out. And who knows...maybe R* will put the planes back in...

@ChristopherD: Yeah, aren't we some of the most elite on Battlefield 1943? That's why we need planes in the next GTA so our skills will be unmatched. Besides, helicopter pilots that spawn kill (note the word "spawn") by circle-strafing are douchebags (in GTA IV, GTA EFLC, and BC2). Atleast planes allow those on the ground to hide or find a defensive position. Anyways, I'm all for an A/G War on PS3 even though I haven't played GTA IV for quite a while. I have been mostly playing BC2 (about 200 hours in multiplayer).

Yea...I am a Gaming 'Pilot' at heart. Truthfully, the creation of the A/G War to begin with can be tracked to my being VERY pissed off that the planes were gone and that, being a 'Pilot' myself, couldn't shoot anyone in the damn Helis!

 

If V has planes in MP, then my guess is I will be switching sides in the next A/G War...lol

 

As far as BF43, you should come play again sometime. Not sure why, but have been running across some really good Pilots of late, making for fun matches.

 

I just broke 1,000 points (1,043) with 38/5 K/D rate. Was proud of that in that there were other good Pilots in the match.

 

Just saw the highest score I ever saw in that game at 1,167 points w/43 Kills. Wish I could remember who did it.

 

Anyway, A/G Reunion, FTW!
