Maybe if it was possible for a downed pilot to return fire defensively and for the taxi pilot to have a co-pilot who could also return fire defensively, there would be more chance of this type of extraction happening

Yea...they can return fire and often do. On PSN side, when a Pilot crashes but survives, there is always a GT who will chase them down. Very often they win the ground battle (against me, anyway...not against Owl and his sniper rifle...lol) and escape.

 

And john also said that the Elite Taxi Trophy is for 50 extractions. Its actually 30 and I think it should stay there.

 

I will respond in more depth to the rest of johns post later (am posting from work again...jokem if they can't take a f*ck! ).

The problem is that defending a position in GT territory can be seen as an aggressive act (camping), because we are supposed to get out of there and get another heli, but it becomes more logical with this pick up under fire concept, which is why I was asking.

 

Booze: I can´t see any reason why PS3 pilots should be any better than Xbox pilots or the reverse. You have to live with turbos too, we don´t, so probably the ground fire is a lot nastier on the Xbox. Having the same criteria for these medals on both platforms could be a mistake.

its not that the pilots on ps3 are better its that whenever I am in dm or freemode on xbox and there is an elite pilot there, I call each person individually and we either agree to kick them or gang up on them. Of course I send 1 person to each airport location to blow the choppers up. I tell everyone why pilots ruin the game and the tips I learned from watching/reading on here. We are all at the parking garage with m4's and its 10 vs 1 and once they realize this a lot of them leave. Also try to have someone driving around to get the primary health pickups but this does not always work. You can ask Chris, I play dirty.

Nice video!

GT's take note that almost all the kills were because of people showing their blip. The importance of staying crouched is VERY apparent in this video!

I am changing the way I put together the Wednesday Night Matches by requiring participants to sign up for it. There just hasn't been enough ppl to play proper matches for the past 3 weeks or so.

 

So, I am holding the Open Trial Match this coming Sunday, but if we end up with only 5 or 6 ppl again, I will be requiring sign up for that match as well. I am missing NFL Football for these Sunday Matches, so would be nice to know ahead of time if there will be enough ppl.

 

I will post again early next week about this to make sure everyone knows.

I´ve been having terrible problems with my router/isp recently. I can sometimes stay in a game for a while, but most of the time I get disconnected every 2 minutes or so. I´ll try and play in the matches this weekend, but if I have too many problems I´ll drop out. Our isp are being unhelpful, but changing isp here takes a month, so it´s very much a last resort. Anyway, we are going to check the set up this weekend and see what we can do.

 

Chris, you´re lucky getting that RPG kill on video. That was a great kill. Good to see someone posting videos again.

Would have been nice to have more pilots today. I was doing Taxi for all 3 games and a lot of it was one pilot vs all the GT's while the other was getting a chopper. By the time I got them to the chopper, the other guy would die.

 

Extraction wise, I must say it was a pretty good day. Algonquin had some intense moments and I'm counting 5 extractions since two of them were double ups and the last was flying through the grinder unscathed despite the fireworks.

 

None on Colony that I'd count.

 

5 at the Prison, one of them being the most epic to date.

 

The bl007 guy spawned in the courtyard under the main/central guard tower. I land and pick him up amidst a pile of gunshots. Then somebody else is right on the other side of the wall, so I have to hop up and drop down, while being fired on, and grab them. Finally, Lellep is around the corner on the wall by the water, land, get sniped in the head, no health, the other passengers taking fire and manage to take off safely.

 

I count that as 3 extractions since you KNOW the GT's would have counted all 4 kills had they gotten us.

 

I noticed GTAKing had 5 kills in one round. Isn't there a medal for that?

Yes there is, I've gotten that medal aswell

Anyway SJ you did a really nice job there at the prison, awsome pickups bro how many more pickups to go until you get the taxi-medal?

 

About the matches;

 

first match in Algonquin was the best imo, I didn't do good today but atleast it was a fun game and I think this match was the one with less lag, for example in the second match (colony island which is my hate spot) I couldnt aim for sh*t, everything went in slow-mo (thx to the lag) and I tried aiming but couldnt hit.. Idk how many kills I got in this game but there wasnt many, 4 maybe? lol

Last match in prison was O.k I suppose, but it was very frustrating as a pilot because as soon as I started shooting at a GT in a tower they just ran down the stairs to hide while other GTs were sniping my ass, think I got sniped out twice in that game.. I suppose it's a good strategy for the GTs but its not very fun

Well, I know for certain I had 7 before today and I'm definitely counting at LEAST 3 in Algongquin. I *could* count more but I'm only counting the times I was fired upon. None in Colony. 5 at the Prison, so I'm at 15 with 15 to go!

 

I gotta say there's a HUGE rush that comes from pulling off a daring and successful extraction, gunfire everywhere, landing to the ping of bullets hitting the chopper, health going down, pulling away as those shooting know for fact you got away right before their eyes.

Hey, that was quite a blast today as I played the first game (had to come back home so that's why I quitted). In the first match from what I've seen the pilots got raped badly. Yous got like three kills (only $100 from losing money because of "mistake deaths"). Us GT had ten if not more. Did I hit your heli with the M4 SJ? I believe it was close to the end of the match where I was trying to shoot an Annihilator and you war back of it. That would of sucked if somebody shot the RPG at the Annihilator and accidently hitted you. In the Algonquin match the crane really didn't help the pilots either. I remember when I got killed it was from being bladed unless it was meant to be a suicide crash as I believe it said "XXX detonated CReaperDorian".

Xbox tried out new locations yesterday: Charge Island and West Broker (around the Northern docks/train tracks/tunnel).

 

Both resulted in losses for the ground team..

The round in Broker we had 5 or 6 helicopters in the air, which made things chaotic, but pretty epic in my opinion

 

Air/Sea was played again and the Pirates won RAAAAAAAAAAAAWR
