Good games all weekend

 

My elite game score for this weekend was my best so far !!!

 

The prison round =

 

6 Kills / 1 death (although the death was from a bored pilot who thought it would be funny to molotov me !!! )

 

the next round I had no kills but also wasn't killed so a score of +5 for the days work.

 

 

all my kills were from a sniper too, which for anyone who plays with will know is quite a suprise

you were only down cos you needed a toilet break and to change your underwear after being bombarded with RPG's and snipers for the entire match !!

 

Either way up or down to finish 2 rounds with a positive score is an achievement for me so let me enjoy my moment even if its only for 5 seconds

Hey Chris!!

I just come up with an idea for a pilot medal.. lets say you gotta kill for example 5 different GTs in a single game.. cause sometimes there's just a random noob who refuse to crouch and you kill him several times in one game.. This medal would maybe make the pilots a bit more hungry to try kill different ppl not just only 1 or 2 GTs..

Atleast for me this would be a fun and maybe hard challange.. we'll see.

Also want opinios from other pilots if the amount of different GTs killed should be higher or lower etc.. tell me what ya think?!

Oh and on Saturday JD was on GTs and killed me on purpose just as i had finished stocking up...

I thought that Firefly Island was a shambles though. I reckon we should just stick to a select few locations for each side. The prison and Star Junction for the ground troops and the airport and whererver else for the pilots. It's a lot more fun when we play at the locations we all know well. Keeps things on an even keel.

 

Let's face it, all of the different locations that we try out end up being terrible choices anyway. I say we just stick to what we know

It was good fun using new locations & role swap yesterday, but I agree it's best with actual pilots staying in the air for A/G. I would be willing to try this again if we can get a good pilot & more bombers. We GT's just don't have the patience to fetch Helis & can't fly/shoot for sh*te. I do feel that it would be nice to have elite pilots join GT for certain games whenever interested. You guys probably didn't need 5 pilots in the Prison

EDIT: I agree with Lee, trial matches are perfect for testing both players & locations.

Yeah I know, but the each GT usually have a favorite spot, so by judging where they are I can guess who it is Im shooting at + If you start shooting some1 they sometimes try to run for better cover and then you get to see their name

 

Also I need to hear from more pilots, btw are you a pilot LeRay?

 

Edit: Yeah Nitty a similiar Medal would work for the GTs aswell

I actually just about to suggest this. Yeah I say we use the trial games to test out new locations and players and save the elite matches for the elite players and best locations

Ok, I listened to some of the Pilots thoughts on this and have come up with a list of Pilot Medals. Please feel free to give your opinion on them (both Pilots AND GTs), i.e. which ones are dumb, which ones are impossible, etc.

 

1. Grinder Survivor – Survive the Grinder for an entire round in the same Heli (w/out getting health / must engage GTs)

 

I think that this should be a seperate Medal than the next one cuz of its difficulty.

 

2. Mechanic’s Special – Survive an entire round in the same Heli (w/out getting health / must engage GTs)

 

3. Kamikaze Apprentice - 5 successful Kamikaze Kills

 

4. Kamikaze Boss - 10 successful Kamikaze Kills

 

5. Kamikaze Master – 20 successful Kamikaze Kills

 

6. Sky Dominator – 50 Kills Overall

 

7. BEST OF THE BEST – 75 Kills Overall

 

Imho, as a non-pilot, I think the numbers for the previous 2 should be 75 and 100 Kills respecively...what do you guys think?

 

8. Air Ghost – Go 3 consecutive rounds without a death (w/out getting health / CAN get new Helis / must engage GTs)

 

Is three rounds enough? Too many?

 

9. Prettiest Flying/Best Flight Plan (need a Medal name) – To be awarded by GTs

Criteria: Ability to frustrate GTs i.e. Amazing dodging, awesome turning, ability to use tactics other than ‘Circling’, etc.

 

This one is confusing, but the basic idea is for GTs to award a Medal to Pilots that show something different/special in a given round.

 

10. ‘It’s Personal’ (need a Medal name) - Get 5 separate GT player Kills in a single round

 

11. 'It’s Personal’ Master (need a Medal name) – Get separate GT Player Kills on ALL GTs in a single round (Must be 8 GTs or more present)

 

So let me know what you think. We will decide which ones we keep and then I'll make the graphics for them.

 

I just think we need a bit more to attract more Pilots to the PSN side! And thanks to the Pilots that gave their thoughts on this!

Chris: extractions under fire are pretty rare things and if Jude and others are only counting them, and not ordinary pick-ups, it´s going to take a long time before anyone gets that extraction trophy. This is because it´s only when a pilot crashes within range of the GTs that it´s possible, and not when they go on fire (= suicide dive) or when they get shot out, obviously. Maybe if it was possible for a downed pilot to return fire defensively and for the taxi pilot to have a co-pilot who could also return fire defensively, there would be more chance of this type of extraction happening and two players would gain points towards the trophy instead of only one, thus avoiding having too many Mavericks buzzing around the target area competing for extractions. It might also make for some totally epic moments during our matches. Even so, 50 extractions under fire seems a lot.

 

About the other medals: 1 Grinder survivor and 2 Mechanic´s special – I think they need a set number of kills to work, maybe 5 and 10 respectively; 3,4 and 5 seem fine; 6 and 7 maybe should be uped to 75 and 100 as you say; 8 air ghost – could be awarded after getting the first 2 medals; 9 seems too much like you´re trying to encourage me to crash more, I think the WTF thing I mentioned – large amounts of GT swearing over mics – would work better for everyone, e.g. a circling pilot taking out three GTs in a single orbit deserves credit, they would really swear after that; 10 and 11 sound fine. Adding a medal for ten kills in the grinder and another for 20 kills anywhere else would seem sensible, apart from maybe encouraging a bit of spawn killing. A “first blood” medal for anyone who gets any kind of kill in any of these games and maybe an “ace” medal for 5 kills in any game might also be useful. See what Dhawal says about all this though because his ratio suggestion has a lot of sense behind it.

 

On a different note, above I gave a report of my experience in the Algonquin game on Saturday, partly because it was such a weird game and I just had to mention it, but also because I like reading other people´s reports on matches, when they write them, so I wanted to contribute a bit of that. Any chance of people telling more stories about these games?

I think pilots should be allowed to get health. If I were to go for one of those medals and I wasn't allowed to get health I would fly SO carefully that it would make the game boring for everyone. Also, snipers and rockets have a longer range than the miniguns and maybe the Xbox pilots aren't as good compared to the PS3 pilots, but those medals seem VERY elusive for everyone flying on our side... Especially when we play 25 minute rounds

If I'm not mistaken, the Grinder is the Alonquin East crane, where Tonksi went 0-2.
