A/S was a bit disappointing. After last weeks performance, I was expecting to do better

Also pretty amusing the the Xbox crew chose Star Junction while the PS3 crew chose the crane just off of Star Junction (though we've done pretty well when the matches ended up moving more towards Star Junction, the infamous Chopper Graveyard).

 

Colony Island was actually DAMN amusing, though it is also the ideal spot for the Air Taxi, simply took too long even with the close location for them to grab new choppers. Still amuses me how the most utterly random locations have been fun lately (random Bohan spot, random Alderny spot, random Docks match, random Colony Island match).

 

Oh yeah, and 3 vs 3 at the Airport, even with such a small match, pretty certain GT's still won

Sorry I bailed after the first round. Family was bugging me to go to the beach. So, I quit out and turn off the PS3...and they aren't ready to go yet.

 

So I turn the machine back on and get an invite from one of the Pilots. I end up on my own team, so decide to get Helis for the Pilots. Did that for about ten minutes and then 'POOF"! Disconnected just as C-J-C joins.

 

I am still planning on having a Match Wednesday at 5:30pm Eastern US - 10:30pm UK Time. Just want to give some of the folks on The List from way back an opportunity to play again. A lot of them stopped when we changed the Match Times.

Star Junction: Alex, my apologies for the head-on chopper collision. That was very un-elite of me. This was my 2nd attempt at A vs. G piloting and with my shoddy chain gun work, I was trying to sweep in and draw some fire away from you guys. It seemed that our overall strategy was a success. Great job pilots.

 

Algonquin Cranes: Was a good time, as well. Got someone with an RPG for my 1st chopper kill. Found some good spots & managed to make it on a crane for a couple minutes without causing major attention.

 

A vs. S match was sort of a bust. 1st Tug completely disappeared from under us, (next game) 1st wouldn’t restart at the Alderney bridge, & 2nd was blown up in no time. We may need snipers included to get a beat on the incoming Air troops. Also, when it comes to who should drive the tug, it might be a good idea to consider: last on board, low on ammo/body armor.

 

Aside from team movement strategy, didn’t care much for the gang war, but was a nice filler, nonetheless.

Tug didn't disappear, the driver did and took the Tug with him. Kind of a not-so-smart move on behalf of everyone who knows him to let Kinko drive (he has a faulty disc/xbox and discoes like John Travolta in his prime). I also didn't see that many people glitch inside the Tug and I even saw people standing on the back! Don't stand on the back, that's where the super weak spot of the Tug is! It's even weaker than the Annihilator's one (well maybe just as weak, but that should tell you enough). If everyone glitches inside the Tug, then the driver's the only one vulnerable to gunfire, so he should be the one with the most health and armor if anything.

 

Gonna test out if it's possible to pick up a healthpack with the Tug soon

I wasn't giving Pilots rides...I was getting Helis and returning them to the action and dropping it off for the Pilots to use.

 

And I need the PSN folks that read this to spread the word among our old-school participants abot the Wednesday night Match.

I am aware of the issue...

 

There is one close to the water that I know of which is on the route, but I'll have to test out if the lag is going to be a serious problem.

Here is the new Medal I did for the 30 Kills Medal. The file size is a bit hefty, but can adjust it when someone wins one.

 

 

I may be doing others for this so that the Medal Earner can choose between a few different styles.

To expound further on the Airport strategy arsonizt, Bates and myself used: we posted up by the stairs leading to the train tracks (my original favorite pilot hunting spot). There is a health pack at the bottom of the stairs, M4 nearby, RPG up top on the train platform. With blips set to FAR (and with minimal talking as mics were on ALL ) we'd each move to one level, shoot till we got a kill, took damage, needed ammo, etc. and move to the other level. Decent amount of times I watched choppers shooting at a spot I no longer was at (standing up so they see your blip pop up is GREAT bait).

 

Tried like hell for that SMG and Grenade kill. Next time!

 

Chris, it was funny when you dropped out, I had NO IDEA that CJ popped in and was flying till about the last minute.

Good news: I actually found two health pick-ups on the main route that you can pick up with the Tug with zero lag!

Now ive come up with the most stupid idea in the world, I dont know why im wasteing my time even suggesting this but here I go.... Once a month or even once every 2 months we could possibly remix things up a little, by this I mean GT's in the choppers and pilots on the ground. I know, I know its so stupid but It could be at the airport and the pilots or should I say the new GT's wouldnt be allowed to go into buildings. More like on the runway hiding behind them massive red and white light masts. Stupid?. yes. Fun?. yes.

 

Now I shall wait for the mass of abuse and maybe even a good old hanging.

Weve always accepted suggestions or gave them a thought but I dont want to ruin the whole original theme so to all new players, dont get the wrong idea. Im just a crazy person.

It's not a crazy idea at all, in fact I think the PS3 branch has already done this

 

Not yet on Xbox though, but we're definitely gonna do that at some point! It's just for fun and it's still Air/Ground. Idk, blading could be allowed, grenade-carpet-bombing, it would probably be hilarious

I'm a decent pilot when it comes to actually, you know, flying. Of course I prefer the Maverick, mainly because it's not the Annihilator since there are enough Annihilator fanboys out there already.

 

The whole "circle endlessly while shooting" crap is beyond me and I have no doubt the regular GT's would get their asses kicked trying to be pilots while the pilots have ALL played as GT's before and certainly know how to shoot at a chopper better than I know how to shoot from the chopper.

 

It would be amusing to watch though!

@ SuperJude - yea that airport strategy worked out really well I noticed we were positioned in a triangle defense. I realized its a great opportunity to send an RPG dead smack into the side of a chopper while its circling slow towards you while its shooting the target in front of them. PERFECT!
