Can aybody help me, ive just gone and brought GTA IV From amazon, had it delivered and install all patches to 1.0.4.0

(1,2,3,4 ive installed)

But when i go to run with ENB Series whenever my game goes to start i get some wierd screen flicker and then DD3D30 Error

ive got a Direct x11 Graphics card and i have the d3dx9_26 and 40 installed and placed in the gta folder, ive looked all over for answers please somebody help

You need Xliveless and Scripthook.Net to run mods.

• Delete the settings.cfg from %userprofile%\appdata\Local\Rockstar Games\GTA IV\Settings

-I don't know the actually path to the settings.cfg as I don't have a Win7 box in front of me, but it's something like that.

• Lastly, you may need to replace the d3d9.dll with another .dll and test. If you're having a hard time try the d3d9.dll from a few different ENB packages.

YW Tom. I try to be helpful. Because it took the better part of six months of trying and posting asking for help and nobody could give me those simple instructions. I would like to save someone the trouble, whenever I can.

I didn't know that GTA IV could only use 2GB of RAM. Could this method make it use more? (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MJ1_RG8QblM)

I did this with S.T.A.L.K.E.R., and it worked very well.

It can use more then 2GB, but i believe the GTX590-3GB, is 1.5GB on each GPU. It's using dual GPU's on one board.

 

If that's the case, then the most IV/ENB will see is 1.5GB of vram.

 

I have yet to see one screenshot of any GPU with over 2GB of vram.

 

This is why i opted for the 2GB version of a GTX560 over the 1.25GB GTX570. (my current p.s. cannot handle a GTX580/590)

 

Also, IV is VERY cpu dependent in terms of frame rates. Going from a GTX460 to a GTX560, i only got increases of 10% or less in 2D. Only in 3D was there a increase of more then 10%.

 

So GPU power is not what is key for IV, it's the overall vram, that's more important.

Last night I refreshed my GTA install after a long time using patch 1.0.3.0. I tried 1.0.4 in the past but I remember it totally crashed without any mods.

This time it worked. I was unsure if it makes a difference if I use 1.0.3 or 1.0.4 with Dpeasant3 settings. Seems to be no big difference either for FPS or visual appearance.

But everything looks a bit "rounder"... Can´t explain in detail...

 

Anyway if someone is interested in an easy way to get Dpeasant3 great settings to run, do this and nothing else:

- Get a fresh GTAIV installation (no savegames, nothing left, make a complete reinstall and no repair!, Securom can stay, online game license recall is also not required)

- Patch your game to 1.0.3.0 or 1.0.4.0 (from this point I can recommend both patches, so choose for your taste, differences may occur due to system specs or whatever)

- DO NOT INSTALL ANY MODS YET

- Change your filelist.pak (pc/data folder) with these modified one http://www.mediafire.com/?w4lj54pqxiocia6 (make backups!)

- Mark all GTAIV folders and files and uncheck "Read only" attribute

- Add ENB files from the archive correctly, keep an eye on readme´s (make backups!)

- Now start modding what you want

 

Sounds pretty simple and works for me again and again and again...
