I guess the best ways will be :

 

- Modify the whole GTAIV's DOF code and replace it with something prettier

- Completely disable the GTAIV's DOF and put another calculating DOF using the middle of the screen offset for the DOF to make it dynamic..

 

I'll see that mid-June... ;D

Yours for two reasons.

1. I can't tell whether it's the timecyc that is shading the buildings and retainer wall across the street. The buildings look much more realistic in screen#1.

2. Hue's projected on walls are closer to the amber hue projected by streetlamps and ambient light at night - of course, I would imagine that depends on where you live for a comparison. rolleyes.gif

 

 

Good job you guys! Holy sh*t the visuals coming in now are insane.

I'm living near Paris. And because of light pollution, it kind of look like that here...with all these buildings during night.

That's why. And I used Crysis 2 too.. you know one of the last missions are during the night especially when you have to jump in the air to an island. you can really see the buildings and this light pollution during this sequence..

I just need to readjust a little the color, to make it more orange.. and I guess it's okay.

For me , it added a lot of realism.

The game looks plain and too cartoonish without some bloom...

But it's my opinion..

gp65cj042 just made a dynamic DOF.

And me, i'm trying to think about how to use bokeh DOF in the game.

I guess i have an idea with using some DDS files + HLSL.

It adds to it, no doubt. (imho)

But a few have gone way too overboard where it's just destroys the realism by itself.

Heck, i was working on bloom before, and it went a bit overboard, as the pics show(especially the right pic)...lol
