If youre talking about distant bloom, this is because instead of

Im using

lerp(xxx);

code. It was so simple, and i was so stupid, not to do that from the very beginning. Also, im leaving for a couple of days(as usual on saturday and sunday), ill recheck the pm later sad.gif

Haha it's okay. We're busy too (exams for gp65cj04 & me too); about this godrays shader, but Boris helped us a lot as you can see on your PM, i might get a try again tonight. Just hope DKT70 can take a look at it too when he can.

 

I noticed that too when tweaking your enbeffect+enbbloom. So it was that simple. Thank you. smile.gif

these shots are during work.... not final obviously but.... a good indication of where i'm at....

Cheers mate, and cheers for the PMs.

 

Do you see how I managed this flare effect ? I have simply used the offsets in the prepass stage of the bloom shader, this creates a couple of blurred copies of the sun, offset from the main sun. It's a fake effect, but looks good. Especially now that I have added 2 more color options to each pass, allowing anyone to mix the violet colors so when you now look directly at the sun you get a amazing blend of violet blue, red, orange, yellow effect.

Hey Guys... I've spent the past 4 days playing around with this mod and theres one thing that really makes me blow my top off... antialiasing...

I have descent specs...

 

AMD Phenom x4 965 BlackEdition 3.95 GHz

4GB DDR3 1333 RAM

ATI Radeon 5700 HD 512 MB

M4A78LT-M AMD 760G/SB710 Chipset

 

And even then I can't run my antialiasing normally... I have seen some amazing pics... And by the required specs of the mod I too (at least I think so) can run those graphics at least

somewhat closer to my own... But I can't whatsthat.gif I have my CPU overclocked, I shut down all running processes. E-mailed Boris, did what he suggested and can't still run my game normally

with antialiasing... Lags like hell... Impossible to play. I thought writing to the forum might my last hope. Is this normal? Is my PC really S***? Do I have to spend more money upgrading it? mercie_blink.gif

 

Antialiasing was one of the things I was looking forward to with this mod... And I can't have it mercie_blink.gif

Also appologies if I posted in the wrong section, but I can see there alot of activity here, so I'm hoping someone won't scroll past and hear my little complaint sly.gif

also kind of "found" an interesting thing using the sharpen filter..... i sharpened each hue change of the sun which gave me pulsating rings of light from the sun...... still playing with it...... will try and remember to

capture some good screens of it once i get it where i like.... keep up the great work bro, most impressive icon14.gifblush.gif

 

btw, how IS your haze/bloom effect coming along?

 

EDIT - also DKT, are you looking at the "godray" code? i honestly cannot get it looking anywhere near as good as some of those GR screens from a few pages back..... really quite baffled as to why.... maybe a different enbbloom? as mine is pretty much totally custom like yours would be....Any tips/help?

I don't have much time actually to play with shaders sadly.

Wish I had more time to work on this godrays shader.

Would be awesome to mix it with your fake lens flare effect.

Now that we know , we can use multipass on 0.82... biggrin.gif

enb antialias is videocard hungry.. gtx480 and radeon5870 could be the minimum GPU required to run it descent not fast but descent in high res gaming thats just the minimum IMO

nvidia works better in gta4 with enb as boris developed it using nvidia.. i think so

 

your PC is not sh*t you can run every game to date with descent fps so you do not need to spend upgrading IMHO

but if you really like and got the stash then GO! GTX580 or 590 smile.gif

The godrays shader is being corrected slowly. It's not that easy to do.

We have to use enbeffect + effect.txt together to scan and take the colors. to be simple.

DKT70 took a look at it, it'll come when it's done.

Even Boris gave some advices.

Good Stuff mate..... i surely didn't think OR say it should be easy..... just good to know he and yourself if not others are looking into it..... i'm actually not THAT interested in it as it is now.... more interested in adapting parts of the effect to better suit a good bloom effect for a more natural look..... keep up your good work..... when it's done is fine.... Hahaha, as long as its not as long as "duke nukem : whenever"

My effect is practically done for now, and in the hands of a few testers. Thing is, it's not a slot-in-and-just-work effect, it requires good knowledge of timecyc and ENB ini editing, along with knowledge of colour and light to get this effect to really shine. If this just "Worked", I would put this up for everyone to use. I have tested this in DP3's beta, L3Evo new test, Alex Fake's, and it actually made them look worse with the effect at stock settings. It also has all the downside effects of using bloom, including slightly glowing peds/white cars/white lines/white objects etc.. Upto now, this was way out of control, peds looked like they were wearing plutonium-covered clothes, but I now have most of this under control.

Oh, it's also "Global", so bloom in cloudy and rain, but it's not a major problem.

 

The problem of gp65cj042's god ray effect is that it scans every pixel looking for the sun, this is the main cause of the slowdown. Boris has suggested looking at the intensity of each scanned pixel looking for the most intense central position, but this requires multipass using both enbeffect and the effect.txt and this is now in another level to what I'm at. I will give gp65cj042 this, it is a damn fine attempt at this effect, and he has achieved this before anyone else. Top stuff like this that keeps me interested, otherwise I would just get bored and move on to something else.

is it possible with the simple native trainer? i can make my player invisible and turn off the hud but i dont get a freelook or something like that.

It's your GPU, as ENB (and even vanilla IV) eat up VRam like few other games out there.

 

Your CPU is solid, so all you need is a decent low-mid GPU, say equal to a GTX 460-2GB, which would run any enb setting in 1920*1080 with AA=1(basically higher quality 2X MSAA).

 

For example, i'm using(on my slower pc rig)a GTX 560 2GB(oc'ed), with a I7-930 running stock at 2.8GHz, and i'm able to run most setting in 1080p with AA=1 at 20+fps. Or i can run at a lower res(say 1280*720) with AA=-1 (equal to 4X MSAA). Of course 1080p looks better, but both have nice PQ.

 

Good Luck, and upgrade that GPU!. smile.gif 512MB of vram, is not enough these days.

Are you using ENB v0082 for any of your settings? If so, does that version of ENB cause your GPU to work alot harder(ie..higher fan, higher temps) ?

 

I'm using a Palit 2GB GTX560, and whenever i use enb v0082, my GPU fan goes near 60% and the temps go up to 88F, where other ENB versions the fan stays under 10% and temps about 70F.

 

I'm wondering if this is a Nvidia related thing going on, in terms of ENB v0082.
