my own setting well, not exactly all mine, I mixed parts by parts (visualseettings, timecycle, enbeffect.fx etc) from various settings and combined them with my own enbseries.ini

 

TBH I don't really like the environment during certain weathers/time of day, and Dpeasant's latest timecycle he posted are multiple times better!

what programm do you use to make videos?

ah I see, I'm always using FRAPS...

 

careful though, it will record your video in HUGE .AVI format, that's one of the reasons my games videos are in short duration my internet sucks, it took long time to upload them even after I convert it into mp4 x264.... and perhaps my converter software is not really good since videos that I upload into youtube are usually become much smaller when I download i from the youtube (means youtube compression are better than my software)

The most common patches are 1.0.3.0, 1.0.4.0 and 1.0.0.4.

Newer patches may cause problems with ENB cause this patches are not fully compatible to ENB (R* obviously don´t like ENB).

Some ENB configs may be only playable with a specific patch (f.e. Dpeasant3 settings), some patches may not work at all (1.0.4.0 crashes for me on fresh install)

Configs I carefully tested: Dpeasant3, -Bone- (both worth to try)

Be sure your GTA is prepared to be modded.

I follow this guide: Fresh install ---> patch ---> install magicpatcher ---> install ENB ---> install other mods

After patch 1.0.2.0 the only thing you need to make GTA ready for modding is a different filelist.pak file. This file is included in the "magicpatcher" archive. Google for it.

I can say nothing about Xliveless or how it´s called, I don´t use it. My GTA is running on 1.0.3.0 with some custom cars sometimes and SimpleNative trainer v6.2.

Absolutely no craches, running absolute stable. Reading this 800+ site thread may also help you alot!

Also search for "Darecki´s ENB description". Very useful guide.

 

Your computer seems to have enough power. Maybe your GFX card is a bit weak, but you have to decide.

Another info: There were rumors about that ENB version 0082 for GTA4 may affect your hardware in a negative way. I don´t use this version, the health of my GTX460 comes first. For me version 0079 is the best.

Maybe! I don´t know, I always do it like I described above. maybe it´s not neccessary but it´s working everytime I reinstall. And I often reinstall.

I first startet with patch 5 (1.0.0.4) and it was not possible to mod it without making GTA "mod ready". All files were blocked from changing/overwriting.

I will stay with my method. It´s possible that there are other methods.

The "magicpatcher" is only one file you change/overwrite (filelist.pak). I don´t know if there were other previous magicpatchers which may have other function.

for your install and reinstall why don't you copy the gta folder to another partition when all is fresh installed and patched ? I do it and when i mod my 1.0.7.0 and make mistakes, i delete the gta folder and copy/paster from the save partition ? It's very much faster !

Yeah, finally I´m doing this but sometimes I can´t recognize what is modded and what not so I better start from zero again to be sure that everything is 100% original.

Copy/paste method was to dangerous for me if I forget some modded files to backup. Sometimes it felt like if something was changed even when backup was copied in.

Maybe the modded files change also unmodded file data when GTA is executed. It´s possible.

And if my "feeling" says its bad...... may brain only stopps moaning when reinstall is finished.

Open the timecyc.dat in a text editor, it maybe set to read-only, and on each line scroll to the end and the very last value(sometimes 1.000, other times 1.200) and change every value that is higher than 1.000 back to 1.000. I think 1.200 is the highest. That should help Niko's clothes.

 

DKT70--finally found the time to do as you suggested--timecyc was set to read only, changed that, opened with Notepad++, used WordWrap so I wouldn't have to scroll to the end of each line, used Find and Replace to change 1.200 to 1.000 at the end of each line (had to be careful because there were some -1.200s in the middle of some of the lines that Find and Replace wanted to switch out too) and ... I'm sorry to say that nothing changed. Here is a screenshot taken after I tweaked your timecyc. It looks exactly the same as my before shot.

 

 

On my monitor, blacks in that image, like Nico's suit, are way too dark, with almost all black detail lost (or "crushed" as they say in the home theater world). Does that screenshot look that way on your monitor too? It may just be a difference in our monitors ... one that you would find hard to change, since you can't see it as I see it.

 

I took a screen capture of the tweaked timecyc so you could see an example of the value I changed, just in case I changed the wrong one ...

 

 

It is a shame I can't enjoy the latest incarnation of your work, because it still looks great apart from the blacks, and man is it fast ... fastest I've ever seen the game run, including just using plain vanilla. Everyone else should definitely give it a shot.

 

Thanks as always for all your hard work. Took me a while to replace those values even with Notepad++ ... I can't imagine how much time you've spent just creating the whole thing from scratch!
