how many FPS do you have?? i think max 10

 

About 15 - 25, depending on scene. I would expect if I put my 260 back in then 10 would be my max fps, since this 465 is almost 3x the power.

 

 

to me, they're only 'slightly' different in overall tones, SSAO/shadow darkening and color temperature, nothing really major bone's b&w/sephia

 

You're never going to see any major breakthrough changes unless Boris moves to DX10/11, adds tessellation and soft transparent shadows, and most of all, someone re-textures the entire city - because most of the shots are let down by crappy lo-res textures.

Will you, guys, start doing something new, actually? Not changing LPF`s settings a bit, but new. I see DKT, Chavez, AlexF, Hits, Bone and some other people doing something different, but everything else is the same as in L3EVO. I have nothing against L3EVO, but is very bad to see every second "setting" to be the SAME as L3EVO. Its bad, very bad.

what are you actually talking about?

Copying other people work, edit them a bit to your tastes and releasing them as a completely new config. DKT, Dpeasant, Bone and AlexF make their own TimeCyc.dat and other things from scratch.

 

I mean, I can create a whole different atmosphere with LPF his settings now by changing just a few numbers in the ini.

*chukles*... yeah right, let's create new ENB too unless you're changing it artistically (and drastically) like bone's b&w or adding cell shade/cartoon shaders or something fancy like hue manipulation (like the matrix or 300 movie), they're all going to look relatively the same (minor changes), and maybe most people cannot and do not want that kind of change.

 

manipulating timecyc? manipulating the sky/clouds like someone few pages back? that would still only resulted in (technically from artistic point of view) minor changes.

 

and yet, the example he used were the ones with minor changes (except bone's b&w)

 

to each his own though I just thought/felt that Dpeasant complained the wrong thing.

precisely! and never going to happen.... I mean, I don't see how you could add tessellation and other more modern & softer, more realistic effects without reworking the game engine, maybe some effects can be done nicely...

 

boris said about adding sunshaft, but I wouldn't be surprised if it will look ugly.

 

I would like to see cars reflections on the road, but it's impossible already.

Im posting many screens, yes, but im actually doing it myself, im showing my progress, what ive done. I mean I can easily tell LPF`s extrasunny from everybody`s else. It was unique. DKT also can be seen here seldom lately, so the forum is completely flooded with the same and the same.

but the problem is that you cant add high res textures to GTA IV...not yet...i tried to add some 1024x1024 and 2048x2048 textures to the gtxd.img...to chance...they was resampled to 512x512...i would love to retexture the game!but its atm not possible

No, while, like you said, you are limited by 512x512, you can sample them back down from a higher res using a quality resizer, not some sh*tty art program, a proper resizer.

 

In avisynth, you can use a spline resizer like so, starting from 1024x1024 (I do this with all my roads, not the old ones).

 

Spline36Resize(512,512)

 

follow this with a motion compensated sharpener, standard, median, or spatial, all do sharpening slightly differently but superior to a art program. You can also use HDRAGC, RGBadjust, & AutoExposure to do some color correcting, and you end up with some nice textures. The trick is not to add light to them, since GTAIV will add it's own light, so less contrast and brightness.

 

Oh, and just to add, this is what I'd like to see from Boris added to ENB.

One other thing: is there a way to add super8 or old school movie effect you know with the sides and the corners of the image being darker?

I only found the name of the archive its

PHOEBE_CROFT'S CUSTOM CEL-SHADED ENB SERIES.

As for the effect, pm me your enbeffect.fx, ill add a line for vignette effect. I have also found a similar effect made by DKT70 yesterday(with tonemapping and other things) in this thread, but im using another code, made by gp65cj04, but it was unused in his settings.

in most of my posts i write "its bones enb setting with little changes from me ( SSAO from dpeasante and L3evo first DoF ). "

 

and i write Mod pack. not my setting. its only a modpack with bones setting. i dont "sell" it as my setting.

 

some pics with bones final setting. i made the pictures on my philips 42" TV screen. it has wonderful contrasts and colors. gta looks so beatiful on it. now im trying to get more contrast on my hp tft with a crappy panel^^

Scrush, i was talking not about people using setts without giving credit, i dont care about that. I was talking, that lately every seond "setting" is the same. I cant even tell where is lpf`s and where is someones else. Clones. Bones settings are different matter, they look different. And i wasnt talking about him at all.

 

Deathless, if you cant make anything new, then why in the world you say that im saying bullsh*t? If you dont want anything new, then why post the same and the same screens, which are COMPLETELY identical to all other people screenshots, using the SAME setts. Post first time, to shows the setts, how they work on you pc, second time to show your aa or some thing like that, but why over and over the same and the same? If there would be at least ANY changes in the settings: go ahead, its alwsys nice to see some progress.

I make changes in settings, i post screenshots. If there are no changes, i dont think its necessary to post em. Seriously, man.
