ikt - i looked as boris's vid, and looks great... but i don't really see much motion like that.. are these settings derived from timecyc.dat - visualsettings.dat or enbseries.ini?

i know that in this forum we have got some rules and there's written that we have to talk here in english.

if u want to ask somebody in ur language write him via PM or in an other forum.

 

and ofcourse you are wrong! i released my settings at gtainside.com and i see that u are too laaaaaazy to search them.

i use Dpeasant's and mindofmike's files mixed with my settings, that's all about my graphics wink.gif

Im working on my own settings and so far i only understand the enbseries.ini

Is there any documentation on timecyc.dat, visualsettings.dat , making enb clouds ?

 

Here are a demo of my settings , I wish i could see them but i cant because im out of town.

Use Extrasunny at midday (only thing changed in timecyc) and can someone upload a screenshot

yeah. the buildings are great i that settigns. maybe the look of cars could be more realistic (reflections and shadows are not realistic)

A bit less of the fresnell, so that it kicks in a bit later and the guy achieved a very realistic reflection settings. It looks like NFS Shift, or Forza something, or GT5.

As far as I know, using a custom cloud texture disables cloud movement.

It doesn't exactly disable it, but because the timecyc.dat cloud variables are really finely tuned to the original cloud texture, it basically just stops working as it was designed to. There are quite a few variables in the timecyc, that can be edited via EDIT IV to restore the cloud movement and evolution to a custom texture. I haven't yet done that to any real degree in my settings, but it is definitely possible.

 

Some variables control the texture location itself, meaning that you can adjust the location at different times making the clouds appear to move across the sky. Then there are quite a few other variables which control, the density, brightness, shape, light position, etc of clouds that can be used (if you are really, really patient) to achieve an "evolution" to the clouds as they move. This is quite difficult and must be adjusted to the specific cloud texture that you are using, as well as the ENB version and settings files. Note that some textures work better than others. The default one that came with ENB is quite difficult to work with and require more fine tuning than some others I have tried.

 

In other words it's a sh!tload of work and made even more difficult by the fact that weather transitions don't always work very well and must be balanced as well.

 

To really do it right, in my opinion, you would have to be simultaneously editing the timecyc.dat, enb series variables, and the cloud texture itself to achieve a balanced and "realistic" sky. Probably not possible to get it perfect, but in my opinion, the original GTA IV clouds looked really bad, so any improvement is good.

 

I did post a custom EDIT IV package with some of the unknown values (especially cloud and sky) changed to what I think they adjust. It's in this thread somewhere. If people are interested I can upload an updated version. Might help for those wanting to take on the challenge.

 

That said, for me, the sky and clouds are an important part of the game...Their realistic movement is not especially important. I don't stare at the sky for long enough to actually see how realistic or unrealistic it is, during game play.

These arent fake shadows, its Screen Space Ambient Occlusion. Youve set it to a high value(like 1.8 or 2.0, for example), it may look decent at night, but will look awfull during the day, unless youve made your own shader, which controls ssao amount dynamically. Or, if you set it through "light 1-2-3-4" it still looks not very good, cause it actually shades everything in the vicinity of the light source, even if it has shadows already.

I will test your setting.

 

I like that you added a link to your settings in your signature.

This stops the annoying questions where the setting can be find.

 

Other ENB Setting Tweakers, plz do this too!
