Also, those green trees look nice, when the right colour tint variables are set. monocle.gif

@ depeasant i sent you a pm plz check it^^

Sorry, forgot about it. Well, shadows are light only because gamma\contrast\bloom settings. Colour of the shadows doesnt affect perfomance, so i didnt clearly understand what did you mean. blush.gif

Dpeasant, what happens if you enable SSAO? smile.gif Will your settings get ruined? Also, performancewise, on my computer, my already low FPS cuts in half and makes the game unplayable tounge.gif But I would like to see some subtle SSAO. Too bad it's not possible regarding performance tounge.gif

Amazing!

What governs the windows' reflection on the ground? nervous.gif

How can i make darker shadows?

Shadows can be darkened through the timecyc by adjusting the dark shadows value in the other parameters tab and also with the ambient light values to some degree. You could also play with the brightness and darkening settings in enbeffect.fx to increase the contrast. Or you could adjust the environment colorpower settings in enbseries.ini. All can be used together with some tweaking to balance the lighting and get darker shadows without making the overall look too dark. It's a bit of work, though.

Guessing it's probably the Global Reflections Variable in timecyc.dat

Great work... Really, thank you very much. I'm using Dpeasent3's config. His work is very nice too!.. inlove.gifinlove.gif

Anyways... I have a problem about Anti-Aliasing with 0.79 SORA, GTA IV 1.0.4.0. When I enable 2xAA, the window size doesn't change but the game's resolutions gets 2x bigger (or 4x, don't know). whatsthat.gif My friend has got this problem too. With 0.81 ENB "d3d9.dll" and 0.79 "fx"s, I can set Anti-Aliasing Up Scale to "0.5" and the game gets normal resolution: 1680x1050. What should I do? Should I go on with these setup? Is there a difference between 0.81 DLL and 0.79 DLL about Performance & Quality...? confused.gif

I don't know will this help but, I have Zotac Nvidia GeForce 8800GT (some old, huh biggrin.gif) and don't have FPS problems etc.

the AA is doubling the amount of pixels. if u set your game to 1680X1050 the game renders 3360X2100 pixels and that's why the screen looks so big. but that supposed to only happen in the menus. not in game. if it does happen in game i say do what i do:

i can only play up to a resolution of 1680X1050 in regular game. going over is bad for my performance.

what i do is set my desktop resolution to 1024X768 and set the screen resolution in the enbseries.ini to the SAME VALUE. then i run the game. it makes the game render 2048X1536 pixels and even though the menus are still huge, the game's HUD is fine.

and i get a lot less FPS but that's how AA works with ENB.

I have the same thing with new drivers for my GTX275. I just press enter in the menu and then it works fine ingame.

0081 is very different from 0079 in terms of shadows and ssao. Setting which are designed to work with 0079 will look worse with 0081 dll.

thanks for the info. It seems I should buy a new graphic card except one of us inject AA codes/API's to the GTA IV's graphic engine biggrin.gif

3360x2100 resolution makes my PC slower than a tortoise and even Crysis at Ultra Settings with 1680x1050 res. in GTA IV.

mindofmike ENB 0.79 Settings V3.5 HDR

This update will hopefully fix some of the bugs that were present in the initial HDR release, as I have worked on the timecyc quite a bit to make it more consistent. There are some other additions and changes, including a new cloud texture and associated skydome.wtd, better water colors and more realistic bad weather. I didn't go straight to v4 because there are quite a few issues that need to be fixed. (ie. timecyc modifiers and some water/horizon bugs.)

Thanks again to DKT70 for the HDR shader and sharpen filter and P1ch3 for the pack's base files. Plus all the people who helped me out in this thread with bug reports and assistance.

Full Size Screen Gallery here.

Some preview videos here.

Download settings pack here.

Backup everything first before installing. If you've installed my previous version, just copy everything over, replacing all files. Works on patches 1.0.3.0 - 1.0.0.4 Other patches haven't been tested. Please let me know what bugs you find and I'll try to fix them in the final version.

If your frame rate is too low, try disabling ambient occlusion. (Shift F10 to toggle or disable permanently in enbseries.ini)

Release V3.5 HDR Changes

-added custom cloud texture for enbseries (enbclouds.bmp---original file in the "orig files" folder if u don't like it.)

-added a custom skydone.wtd file with slightly altered/filtered texture to soften clouds

-tweaked cloud settings to match the new cloud texture, further soften clouds and adjust overall look

-edited sun and sky settings for more consistancy and to offset the HDR shader's extra lighting

-reduced sun power substantially for cloudy and wet conditions

-changed water color for most times and weather, hopefully reducing the ugly greenish tint, especially in reflections

-adjusted some weather conditions lighting and sky to fix misc bugs

-adjusted taillight colors to hopefully give a fuller red color (not sure about that one 100%)

Mmmm..it crashed when i loaded ingame, but the original enb .079 settings will not though

can you think of anything in your settings that would freeze picture then crash? well i maxed all ingame settings to be hoenst, but i think i should be able

to do so

Hmmm. Try disabling ambient occlusion in enbseries.ini

Does it crash directly after starting or can you play for a while, then get some random crash?

i tried GTA4 0.081 SORA

First problem - the enb is always enabled,if i try to disable it by pressing the key combination the mod is turned off for some seconds then automatically is turned on.

Second - i tried to make my own settings but no luck,i just can't get nice effects,colors..etc..

anyone can preview and share his settings from 0.081 SORA?

thank you!

for the issue where ENB turns itself on look in enbseries.ini for this line

CyclicConfigReading=true

and turn it into

CyclicConfigReading=false

also read more about ENB

http://gtabay.cba.pl/index_dokumentacja_gta4_en.htm

but u should know that the more expert tweakers of ENB not only tweak the ENB files but also the enbeffect.fx and timecyc and visualeffect files. the later 2 files are original game files.

but if u get settings from someone and there's that lil thing u dont like than u might be able to alter something in enbseries.ini to help remedy the thing u dont like.

Is there guide for using the ENBSeries mod.I want to try it, but I don't really see a good place to start.

what is there to know?

just DL a settings u like, put them in the game directory and enjoy.

if u want to TWEAK and CREATE your own settings than that's a lot more complicated and im not the one to ask.
