dpeasant did you get my pm?

Wat?

No, I didnt.

Hmm i think i know what im doing wrong instead of pressing the mail icon on your name or post i go to your profile and clicked on email. Maybe thats it. Sorry about that. Well anyways did you see what i did with dof and blur effect on page 30?

I did exactly as you instructed and saw no noticable difference at all. I played around with a few values in the enbeffect.fx file that I though might change things but again saw no difference

Looks like I was an idiot and i mistook the effect of my effect.txt for DOF biggrin.gif Anyway, it indeed didnt work, though FX composer compiled it without any problems(I always use this program to check shader for errors). Effect.txt that I use, smoothes the whole screen, not just distant buildings, but with AA activated, the effect of the smoothnes isnt seen in closer objects, thats why it looks like dof. Gonna look into it. If it wasnt for you, i wouldnt even notice that i failed biggrin.gif

BTW did you use color filters, like i did, or you just added tint through timecyc, which is possible too?

Sure, but this effect is added through modified shader, so its not compatible with enb. BUT, if you said that you really didnt need enb, i think its cool enough. I may recommend you to download Reality IV non-enb version and try your dof and motion blur there. It has almost the same feeling as with ENB enabled, but without AA and no perfomance loss.

Yea i kinda figured. I will probably use that instead... or i could use VisualIV which has a decent one that isnt insane.

well, motion blur settings arent ignored by ENB, but DOF are. Ive tried various combinations, but it didnt work. Blur works fine.

in order for DOF to work you need to disable definitions in menu. turn it off. then it will work. I dont know if enb will use it but it does work. I think at one point when i had enb it did work. i just had to tweak some of settings.

If i didnt have it disabled, motion blur wouldnt have worked too. I disable and enable it by pressing *p*, its faster and more convenient.

LargeStyle

I can see scanlines in your enb-screens. Perhaps youre using the same effect.txt that ive used. If its so, To get rid of them, edit effect file and set these lines

res+=origcolor;

float range=xxxxx

to smth like

res+=origcolor;

float range=0.001*tempF1/ScreenSize;

or

res+=origcolor;

float range=0.2*tempF1/ScreenSize;

anyone who knows

How can I actually change clouds colour? Ive made like 7 clouds textures and changed all clouds options, even setting to extreme values, but they keep being white, except for the storm. Enb settings arent an option, as they affect all weather types and time.

Do You want my Shaders I can upload them and see if that makes a diff. The code with screenshots of DOF and Blur that wasnt in effect.txt. it was in VisualSettings.dat file. I dont know exactly why its working but now when i put enb i just wait a few in car and eventually the dof and blur kicks in. upload my timecycle.dat file.

The Patch of GTA IV im using is 1.0.4.0 and the Scripthooker.dll vers is 0.04 not 0.026 which i had issues with after i overrighted my files with REalizmIV 6.2 mod. WHich was over 4.4 gigs.

I just registered because of those pics. Been watching for a while though, and so far nothing but good stuff. Could you post your settings? Looks probably the most realistic I've seen.

Really great pics, Dpeasant!

Also, Scrush, I just wanted to let you know that I'm using your newly released settings at the time, they're really great! And, I turned on Ambient Occlusion. I haven't noticed any problems, but can it cause problems or do I have nothing to worry about?

Is anybody play with "ForceAntialiasing=true" and "AntialiasingQuality=0"? Even my rig is struggling sad.gif

Change "AntialiasingQuality=2" and it only JUST 20-26 FPS. Figure it out it has something to do with Shadow. The better quality Shadow the poorer performance(if you play with ForceAntialiasing=true).

I mean.. look at these pics. No resizing, no retouch no nothing, just pure 1920x1080 with AA on straight from the game. Ain't they beautiful?

Im playing around with shadow setting to squeeze the best performance with AA on but yet to find the perfect match. Any idea?

FYI: If you ask what is my rig: i7 980X, 12GB DDR3, Rampage III Extreme, 2xGTX480 SLI

1. Dont mistake Dof with motion blur.

This is how Dof looks like:

http://www.tipsfromthetopfloor.com/wp-content/bone_other.jpg

Sharp objects in the foreground and blurred in the backgroungd.

You have only motion blur activated.

2. You cant use patched shaders with ENB. Thats been discussed over 9000 times, itll cause overbrightness and some other bugs monocle.gif

WIth AA on, It looks utterly brilliant. But the only problem is the shadow which use too much resources and make it unplayable.

Ok i just thought that when the car was focused and everything else for most part was a blur and there were diff levels of blur it was dof but i really have no idea what dof really is so thanks for clarification... The overbrightness thing i do have issues with in my game due to my shaders. everytime i use enb even if i tweak it to work during day for good lighting at night its way to bright and insane looking. that explains probably why it does that.

As you saw from my last screenshots the sky was utterly entirely blue glow pure white. So that definitely means im playing with modified shaders. thanks for telling me that. Now i understand now matter what i do with the enb on that shaders im using from that mod arent good for enb. im kinda new to editing game files like this. Ive only been able to use ppls settings but now im trying to learn how to do them myself but that of course involves editing actual files too like textures and stuff which i have no clue on how to do biggrin.gif

@ Meedo here is what a SSD drive is: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Solid-state_drive that description. basically its used to install your os on and only your most important files that makes loadup of OS way faster. and the SSD drive acts like C drive i believe. while the samsung f3 1tb is regular hdd you can use for all other data.

No problem i wish i could afford a rig like that lol. Im glad your able to afford one. Good luck with that ssd drive i had a friend tell me about it one day and thats how i knew what it was referring too. Might want to get the newer one i think it has better support for certain things. I think first generation of ssd wasnt that great.

@ Dpeasant3: Hmm, that's bad news about DOF not working properly with enbeffect.fx yet! Guess the motion blur masked the problem in your demonstration pics from the other day. Hope you can find a solution. In the meantime I might go back to non-ENB post-proc and see if I can tweak anything in visualsettings.dat as there are obviously DOF parameters in there, but I ain't holding my breath on any results! Besides, I find ENBs only negative side to be poor depth of lighting (especially with light hitting angled buildings) when using Boris' post-proc, I find stock p.p. to be better at this, but that could just be my fault with my settings(?)

I know what you mean about the scan-lines on some pictures, for me it only happens when running ENB A.A. mode (the pics I post are normally rendered @ 3840 x 2160, displayed in-game @ 1920 x 1080, then resized to 1000 x 562 for this thread). I've kinda got used to those lines, but will look into getting rid of them if that code fixes this!

FYI: the colour tints were done purely through timecycle (the first "Ambient Colour", and "Direct Colour") as I know shat-all about tweaking enbeffect.fx and applying filters that way. So far, I've found the only way to achieve specific required results is through a very close and harmonised editing of enb.ini and timecycle together anyway, although saying this I'm only mucking about with one weather type so if / when I try more types things will probably get more difficult to balance.

@ Noelgamo: I'm glad I'm not the only person to enjoy vanilla settings once in a while. Even EFLC on Xbox 360 had some very nice moments! The only thing I never liked too much about stock settings was sunrise / sunset with massive use of orange lighting (although it did remind me to be more aware about drenching everything in one consistent light colouring - to make it look more natural). Saying this, the pics in your later post look sweet also!
