chaves, im sorry u got burned because some ppl are too ungrateful to appreciate something they got for free.

i think criticism is always very important but there a way to give it. saying stuff like "your settings are sh%t" is not criticism. it's being immature and ungrateful.

saying stuff like "your should make the fog less blue because... etc etc, or "give the graphics more contrast because... etc etc" is a good type of criticism, i think.

 

in no way im saying that ppl dont have the right to speak their mind if they dont like something, but the worst thing in the world can be said in a civilized manner that doesnt upset the creator. i took 4 years of college studying design, illustrations and animation and every week we presented our work and had to tell we dont like they homework but we still did it in a way that made us imrove thanks to criticism and not feel bad about messing up. i spent 4 years of hearing why what i did is wrong, shallow or just ugly. but i was told in a grown-up way.

 

it's just a pity that one or two ppl here made u , chaves, feel so bad that everyone else that could have been grateful with your files has to "suffer", not to mention that they made u feel bad.

 

dpeasant is working on HIS settings and ppl love them a lot and im sure that whatever he will release will not be perfect across all weathers and even if it is, some ppl will think it doesnt look good and might say something nasty about it. i just hope that he wont take is too hard and will keep treating us with great screenshots and great settings.

 

i hope that sometime u will feel more confident in posting your settings here. i think u should just ignore ppl bad-mouthing your "product". they can yell and scream and curse all they want. u dont have to care. other ppl who DO like the settings u post can enjoy them for what they are. these ppl are grateful and u made THEM happy and that is all u should care about. ignore the few who can't learn to behave. even if they DO contribute settings or files or what not, this kind of behavior like i described above is disrespectful and should be ignored.

 

you guys who work on better ENB settings and timecyc are not game creators. u r not selling anything and u r not accountable for the files u release. they are , first and foremost, for YOU. not us. if u share them and others enjoy them than that's them being lucky. if ppl don't like whatever it is u r doing, they can give constructive criticism or shut their mouths. if they open them and foul language comes out - u need to ignore it.

 

im sure im speaking on behalf of a lot of visitors in this thread - we love coming here and seeing how ppl use these files to produce something more beautiful than the stock graphics. we know it's time consuming and a lot of fine tunning. we appreciate your efforts and passion and we know this is not something professional and some glitches and annoyances happen here and there. we just love applying your files for whatever they worth and seeing our game differently now and then. we love you for what u r doing and we are grateful that u share your work with us.

i just wish the DKT will be back and unbanned. he was a great member, always trying to help and always contributing. whatever mistake he made, he should be forgiven.

Everything was fine here.. but suddenly noobs like u have register at this site and now the atmosphere here is sh*tty.

 

Some month ago in this thread was it really cool !

And now.. Lots of cool guys are gone from here.. I remember when for example Vadya, Yug, DKT and lots of other guys were active here !

But someone had start to blame them!

And wrote f*cking stupid comments like:

"ur screens are photoshop-edited" "very stupid graphic ingame" "give me ur settings now, i want them now !!!"

 

I respect them and i understand why they are no more active here.

Now they still changing their graphic files and have fun with them.. also they can laugh now that they havent to listen such idiots like u

I will do the same thing.. hope that someday the moderators will clean here up.. I mean talk with ppl like u.

Which are only spamming here.. damn.

And I guess that u are a tiny little noob boy who thinks that behind the monitor he thinks that he's a hero and really cool

Yeah I'd like to echo what topeira said but also add that if you decide not to release your settings and merely do it for your own pleasure why do you still post screenshots here? Its a bit of a slap in the face to those who did appreciate your work to come and see your fantastic settings only to be told you can't have it. Its your right but can we try and get to the root of the problem? I have noticed several of the enb settings creators make off side comments about the staff not doing anything, what if I were to put in some rule in the first post telling people that unfair and non-constructive comments on ENB settings posted is looked on unfavourably? You guys can also try and not get baited into arguing with the idiots who bag your work. I know its hard but I'll try to help stop this nonsense because it just keeps flaring up!

+1 for topeira's post! I went through design school, too and I know how helpful constructive criticism can be. It also hardens you a little, I think, against criticism in general. But the bottom line is that even though most of us are making settings for ourselves, then sharing them to let other try, it's human nature to hope for a "thanks", or a "nice job", even though we know the settings aren't perfect. So thanks, topeira, for taking the time to write some kind words!!

 

That said, I'll always release settings here if I personally like them on my computer, because maybe someone else will like them, too. And maybe that will encourage others to share, because I love trying other people settings for a different take on the game I love so much. I know no ones settings are perfect, hell even vanilla GTA is far from perfect, there are bugs all over the place. And the community as a whole can learn from eachother and work toward making GTA and ENB even better. I have learned so much from examining others settings packs. Without the helpful people on this thread and their hard work I would have never released anything at all.

 

Also agree with GTA3Freak-2001 when he said not to let yourself get baited by idiots who just come on to create sh!t and put everyone down. The internet is full of those kind of people! (Nice to see a mod is still watching this thread and willing to help.)

people are taking this far too seriously, i used to use this forum all day, then somthing happened it went spiraling out of control,

now i rarely come on here, there are a very few here that actualy care about what people do, most moan, yeh constructive critism is fine, but remember dont take it all too seriously, because in the end you will drive people that want to help others out of this forum. for me it was'nt about getting a gold medal or any of that aslong as i could help people, thats what it was about for me. helping others get the best out of enb.

mindofmike settings V3.1 HDR using ENB .79 SORA with P1ch3's old settings pack as my initial base. HDR version thanks to the great work of DKT70 for makiing the HDR Shader that is included. Credits go out to DKT70, P1ch3 and all the others who helped me, or whose files are included in this pack.

 

Edit: This pack is compatible with patches 1.0.3.0 - 1.0.5.0 only. For best results use patch 1.0.4.0. Other patches will probably not work very well. This pack includes shaders that are not compatible with newer patches, so make sure you backup your files first if you do try.

This is really not a perfect HDR version for a lot of reasons, the main one is that I haven't done much to the timecyc. Just tweaked it a bit to try and keep the sun consistant (still working on that) and adjusted direct lighting during really bright times. I added the HDR shader, tweaked the settings of enbeffect.fx, lowered the sharpness a bit, and altered enbseries.ini to fix lighting, clouds, etc. It's not perfect as I said, and there WILL be bugs but it will be good enough for now while I rework the timecyc and update some package files. Plus I notice that many people are using my settings with another timecyc anyway. Be warned that if you are using another timecyc, you may have to tweak enbeffect.fx (and/or enbseries.ini) to achieve correct brightness and color.

 

Release V3.1 HDR Changes

 

-added HDR shader, thanks to DKT70

-tweaked enbeffect.fx quite a bit to even out the lighting

-tweaked enbseries.ini for lighting, adaption, color and sky fixes

-changed timecyc slightly to fix direct lighting strength and color for some weather

-adjusted clouds in timecyc during most conditions because the HDR shader makes them all look a little strange (still not perfect, still working on clouds and sun)

-no more blue sky during cloudy weather

AMD Phenom IIx4 965 @ 3.4 ghz + GTX 275 896mb + windows 7 x32

 

The FPS I get is around 25-35 depending on time and location, but when it's rainy it will drop to 20-25 partly because my settings increase the rain effect. I can accept that kind of framerate because I love ambient occlusion. If you turn that off you could easily gain 10 FPS.
