P1ch3: Is it normal that the sun is a square again since the new update of you? I've installed it and got more FPS than before, but the sun is a square again. With your update before that the sun was okay.

I MAde an Mistake by Using D3D9.dll of Sora Version.

Replace this Files by the One from 0.077b and it will fix It

Still same with sun ?

To make the look of TLAD like the Original, Remove Timecyc.dat from TLAD/PC/DATA and Use the Original One

Ultimate Graphics Tweak is not Working with EFLC.

Use Voodooman Editor to Tweak Shaders Folder from EFLC and it will Work Properly

Just a little suggestion: what about making an ENB thread for EFLC and keep this one for IV?

Its absolutely confusing mixing help and screenshots of both game versions in one thread wink.gif

Guys,

If anyone can help me, I would really appreciate it...

GTA4 runs pretty good for me, but I can't stand the damn anti-aliasing, it kills me.

So! A few days ago I find out about this awesome ENB Series that you can use to enable AA in GTA4! YAY!

- I download "GTA 4 anti-aliasing test 0.076e"

- Extract it to the same folder where the GTA4.exe is

- I open the enbseries.ini and change the resolution to: 1680x1050 (which is also my desktop resolution, as well as what I was playing GTA4 at)

- I launch the game, I see "ENB Series.....etc" in the upper left corner, but my resolution is waaaaaaay to big.

- Somehow I managed to get to the graphics settings ( even though I couldn't see any menu's), and it changed my res to something like 2300xwhatever, and it would not let me change it to anything else ( my monitor can only do 1680x1050)

So, does anyone know if I did something wrong here? Did I skip a step? Is it because of the new patch? Is it cause I'm running windows 7 64bit? I dunno..... hopefully someone here does though.

I need this to work for me haha, I NEED AA!

Any help/advice is greatly appreciated!

Are you playing with AA?

I didn't try AA.

My FPS is so Bad in EFCL that I will never Try It.

Rock* is trying to Fix this issue cause Everyone who Have an i7 920 have the Same Issue.

Around 35FPS

I'm Still Updating my Shaders Folder and I Now Play EFLC with:

EnbSeries 0.077b

Realistic Handling 2.7

VisualIV 1.5.5

Better City Textures

My Own Modified VisualSettings.dat Files

Modified Blood and Explosion Effect

Mega Package P1ch3 that Include Everythings Mentionned Above Except Better City Textures

Download

http://www.mediafire.com/?jz2cqww5bdz

I have a i7 930 ( one step up from 920)

my game runs perfectly

51 FPS average

all settings at very high view distance at 71 detail at 71

1920x1080

never seen the game go below 35 FPS most times its running in the 60's

Itas supposed to be like that so that Anti Aliasing wsill work. It goes to that resolution and then yuour monitor downsamples the game which makes AA work.

ENB makes the game render at x times your resolution, blurs the image slightly and reduces the image to your normal screen size. Result: best quality of antialiasing, slowest form of antialiasing. I also advice to use the newer versions, they also have anti-aliasing and more stuff (that can be disabled to your likings. Oh, and if you're having problems launching the game, just hit enter when you enter the main menu. The menu isn't rendered correctly, but ingame, everything is normal. Normal HUD, normal pause menu, normal gameplay area. smile.gif

ikt:

Antialiasing is slow, because resolution of real rendered textures is huge. In normal games this is not the problem, but gta4 uses deffered rendering method, every object render to 4 textures of screen size at once, not the 1 like in standart games (or 2, if game is modern with depth of field or some other scene depth effects). Just imagine that with antialiasing quality of 1 or 2 your graphic card must render in four times greater image. It's very dependent from video memory bandwidth. The only way to increase speed is to set lower resolution of antialiasing (display resolution actually) or completely change method of drawing entire scene in the game. AnialiasingQuality=0 use even greater texture, scaled 3*3 times. AntialiasingQuality=1 and =2 differ only by downsampling shader, 5 samples against 10 samples, the result in quality is noticable for small lines only. Any kind of edge antialiasing is not possible, speed will be even lower. Shader version of edge antialiasing sucks and i am not count it as antialiasing at all, it is not fixes edges, where antialiasing really required. Also it's easy to make it in effect.txt

Ah, okay. That explains why anti-aliasing on low resolutions almost doesn't give speed penalties compared to 1280*1024.

So, your antialiasing quality on 0 means 9 times of needed GPU bandwith, on 1 means 4 and... 2 also means 4?

But the problem is GTA itself, giving no support for faster antialiasing methods. Thanks! smile.gif

No, the problem is the use of a Deferred renderer, currently there is no way of doing AA in DX9 with this style of rendering. DX10/10./11 is possible, because they allow shaders to access individual samples, in DX9 you can only do AA in the first pass, but with a Deferred renderer you also have the lighting pass, so DX9 hardware cannot do AA with both these 2 passes. (I think I have got that right tounge.gif )

Nice shots, could you post your settings?

Be glad to.

You can download my whole set here.

http://www.mediafire.com/?yo44lztzycu

Let me know if you have any questions as to where the various files should go, etc.

Also, with my set, contrast, brightness and saturation are all set by the individual user with the default in-game menu, so don't forget to set those to your liking. I have contrast and saturation set very low, and brightness set very high ....

Haints, what's your rig like? I can't imagine running those graphics so nicely. I've got a couple of 9800GTX+s in SLI (I'm thinking about upgrading, actually).

Thanks for the compliment about the screenshots, but I don't think my rig is actually all that high end.

I have a Core2Duo E8400 (3.00GHz) 2 gigs of PC 3200 ram, and an ATI 4890 1 gig video card, running XP 32 bit. The CPU I think is the most important part. I upgraded my video card from an 8800 GTS and didn't see that much of an improvement (wish I could have stayed with Nvidia but their newer cards won't fit in my case.)

The settings I use for my screenshots are the same I use to play the game--that's at 1920x1200 with no AA ... I think my FPS averages in the mid-30s ... One poster here who tested a lot of sets said he got the best results, FPS wise, with my set, so you might want to go ahead and give it a try. You could always try to drop the resolution if your frame rate is too low ... Not sure how GTA IV does in SLI since I don't have that setup ...

Here are my in-game settings, if anyone is interested ...

Hmmm... no AA? I noticed that after switching to your settings and then you confirmed it. Amazing. Your larger resolution must make it appear AA'ed to me. Apparently my cards can go up to 2024xwhatever but I can't manage to make that happen.

I guess I'm a noob, but in game I can only go up to 1680x1050 as that's the highest my desktop will go as well.

Here's the weird thing:

1) I go into enbseries.ini and make the resolution 1900x1200, with desktop resolution set to max (1640x1050)

2) I go into my gta options and it says 1900x1200

3) The game itself, despite saying it's at 1900x1200, looks more like 800x600, or even 640x480 -- VERY VERY pixelated.

I don't know why that happens or how to actually raise my resolution above 1640x1050 in game OR on my desktop (though it says the 9800GTX+ can go to huge resolutions)

::EDIT:: I'm retarded. Max resolution on my monitor is 1640x1050 sad.gif

And it was such a nice LCD...

I don't know anything about SLI and have forgotten most of what I knew about Nvidia since I had to switch to ATI, so hopefully someone with an Nvidia rig will be able to help you figure some of that stuff out. I'm not sure if you will see much benefit running the game at a higher resolution than your monitor's native resolution--you have an LCD, right? If you do, you want to run it at the native resolution for the sharpest picture, so I'd think about sticking to 1680x1050 ... Also I should point out that since my screenshots are downsized from 1920x1200 to 1440x900, they look a little sharper than they do in-game, but they are still plenty sharp at 1920x1200 ... I'd upload them at that size, but imageshack won't let me because it says the files are too big ...

EDIT: 1640x1050? I've never heard of that resolution before. I wouldn't be sad about it though. As long as you can run most games at your monitor's native resolution, that is the best outcome you can have. IMO there is no point in going higher since your monitor or videocard will just downscale the image anyway ...
