Tho I did not yet find out how to get a blue clear sky with very tiny white clouds for "sunny", I am pretty much happy with my actual sky smile.gif

Boris: for me I think this "old" effect.txt caused the Alt+Tab problem, without it, I can switch between desktop+gtaIV: http://www.mediafire.com/?uvddjnj2dmm

 

 

DKT: can you please release a sharpen only effect.txt? Sharpening works with latest ENB but after Alt+Tab I can't return to GTAIV and this file might cause the problem. Thx!

 

 

Others: after testing some cloud textures, I'm totally back to no cloud textures, Boris did a great job and I love the way it works. Cloud textures stay at the same spot all day. Also, I'm using my typical enb settings just with the great cloud effects.

I think you can just rename PNG to BMP. Try it, anyway.

I guess ENB uses BMP because it is uncompressed. PNG is in some way compressed.

So you need a true BMP file.

Like you have some sort of "Divine" right to his settings. The only reason you want him to share is because you are simply to thick to do this yourself. You simply mix and match other people's settings and play a game of , "Ohh, look at them pretty pictures, lets see what this does".

I'd love to have it! smile.gif I was using the one above ever since it's out but had some problems with later versions with hue/gamma/blueshift etc... I'm only using the sharpen.

Boris, this was my original noise code, but it worked on light and dark, but not well with HDR light due to the increased contrast.

Give me about 15mins and I'll put up a couple for you to try. One Sharpen only, and another without hue or blue shift, but with calmer HDR settings, so no over-bright areas, hopefully.

BTW, The effect.txt file seems to be not working with the latest ENB, will have to speak to Boris about that one. I couldn't get any of the values to work after just testing them, although they work in the last 0.77b release.

The noise shader you have will not be dynamic, because i did not any kind of timer definition in effect.txt. I actually reading some color of the screen to make the noise "movable", because it's rare to see absolutely static unchanged colors. For example:

//sample two pixels anywhere (may be one only, but better randomization with 2 or more), uv for second texel may be dynamically generated from color1.

Is there a way to get those clouds without enb ? it laggs my game but i love those clouds... So if someone know how to do it or if Boris would be able to make a version with only clouds on i would be grateful

Hmmm, maybe try to set everything to the lowest quality (bloom, reflections, ...) and turn off all you can (as AmbientOcclusion, for instance) and keep the sky part only ?

 

 

OK MY BAD, it wasn't my cloud texture who was used, I don't know why...

So, this one is the one who comes with the new ENB, I believe ?

@ boris and DKT70: guys, I do really appreciate your hard work, Boris you are the man for sure, and you DKT70 I'm each time amazed how great your settings are, I'm glade to be able to talk to such talented modders.

But, to be honest, I've got a problem about your anger with Rockstar and how they did GTA IV. Why always yelling at them ? Why not just take it easy and say "hey, GTA IV is a great game, we can even mod it! But I guess I can do something different, even make it more beautiful, why not? After that, we will all be dancing in a prairie, smoking some crack and maybe have some sex, all naked!"

 

My point is just be happy to have such a great game and have the ability to modifiy it to your own taste, and make people happy with your work! smile.gif

I see how you made the noise dynamic, or at least to my very limited shader knowledge, I see.

I was looking through some shader examples, around the net, of Perlin Noise, where they used various octaves of coherent noise in different stages for each or their examples, then calculated frequency and amplitude for each octave. Stage 1 looked like clouds, while stage 8 looked like grain noise, but all the effects were static, I couldn't find a way to make them dynamic.

I tried bus still lags and makes effects ? everything 0 , 0.0 or false but still got lighting that makes my game sh*t ... if i replace texture in skydome it will be same ? ( i mean texture )

Nope, fine here. The only thing I occasionally get is after a couple of hours of alt-tabbing, editing inis and timecyc files, all in the same session, I start to lose direct lighting making all light on buildings/roads/cars/people black, so I have to wait for maybe 30 seconds for the light to come back.

I take it, many here are having complete black screens, and not just lighting ?

Thanks, I'm not using any effect file as it's not working with current ENB, so I will finish 2 versions and put them both up. Should get this one done by tomorrow.
