[GTAIV|REL|BETA] ENBSeries graphic modification

Recommended Posts

Reflection bug is fixed, and the lighting indoors in general, not just for billiards, is much improved. And, of course, the sky is magnificent. Hail almighty Boris!

Edit: Just one request: ini option to enable/disable stars, or use your own image. I personally think it's strange to see so many stars in the city.

I hate to say this but ENB isn't working for me.

It crashes as soon as I click on GTAIV.exe or LaunchGTAIV.exe.

I tried it on a fresh GTA IV install patched to 1.0.0.4 (which I tested before I installed ENB) and the ENB files straight from the newest version.

Does anyone know what's wrong at all?

Could it be my NVIDIA Control Panel settings or the ENB ini settings?

My specs are in my sig.

PM me or post here if you can help.

It is yeah, 800x600 no alpha. Not sure what limit we have on texture size, will have to have a chat with Boris.

So far, looks great on Cloudy, and Extra Sunny. But I'm going to have to change the entire timecyc to fit with the new ENB, some weather patterns didn't show anything, so I will have to lower something.

Love the shots, noelgamo. they show some real potential to what can be achieved.

i'm not sure how they should look like (the shape i mean), with alpha or without or what the size suppose to be, but if it turns out good i will do many...

So this is just a test

biggrin.gif thanks I have my colour saturation code on. tounge.gif weee.

I might go try this on vanilla timecyc or env timecyc.

@Function-X thanks dude. Ill try them out right now.( since I almost finish the SA version of 4x4 escalade that im doing biggrin.gif)

EDIT:

the first two screens are with the first cloud texture and the last two are with the 2nd cloud texture I thnk I prefer (nothing cause I like them bothe) this is with ENV timecyc.

why do you guys use sharpen filter, no game ever used constant sharpen filter and it looks terrible. i thought the point of anti aliasing is to make the image spear smoother. makes the game look like a jpeg artifact raped picture

You know how you go into an electronics store and the salesman has the contrast, color, brightness and sharpness cranked up as high as they will go on the display model because your average consumer thinks that looks "good"?

Same thing here.

In fact, there is another correlation. A lot of poorly mastered DVDs come with something called "edge enhancement"--basically a line drawn around the outline of everything in the image. On a small or low resolution TV it is supposed to give the illusion of a sharper image, but on a larger monitor or HDTV it looks like exactly what it is--a line drawn around the outline of everything in the image. People who know anything about high end video hate it because it isn't really bringing out any more detail in the image and it just distorts the detail that is there.

Yeah, it seems to work better on a stock timecyc, for the moment.

Still, got to get some sleep, but still want to edit.

Oh trust me, if I can find something to edit, I'll edit it. biggrin.gif

I've had a quick play with the ini, but this is with my own timecyc, with the stock one I just left the ini at default.

All I've done so far is this

[sKY]AzimuthHeight=1.0AzimuthMultiplier=1.0TopColorMultiplier=1.0ColorSaturation=0.0ColorPower=1.0SunIntensity=1.0SunMaxBrightness=50.0SunColorFilterR=0.90SunColorFilterG=0.80SunColorFilterB=0.60SunColorFilterCurve=2.0SunCoronaCurve=2.0SunCoronaIntensity=2.0SunDesaturation=1.0OverallPower=1.0OverallIntensity=1.0CloudsCurve=1.2CloudsIntensity=16.0CloudsDesaturation=0.7CloudsEdgeClamp=0.5CloudsEdgeIntensity=8.0CloudsEdgeRange=8.0

I had to bump up Cloud Intensity to actually see some clouds, but I'll porblably just lower the sky brightness in the timecyc.

Ok heres the possible stars fix, search and replace skydom.wtd cause i don't know where it should go exactly.

Do a backup first !

Download

i'm not sure if it will work actually, but it's just a guess.

i tryed to make the stars look better but they become weird inside G-Texture, so i made the stars more less only...

here how the clouds should looks like. Better to make it square. Center is always above camera, at the sides it's going to horizon, actually this image was rendered in 3d software, it's gizmo box with attached volumetric noise and camera looking in to it with high field of view angle value. If you will do only noise without shift in 3d, clouds will not look volumetric (again, i lost that code and it's complex to do it now). Alpha channel is not used, but separate r, g, b colors produce different cloud layers, they appear only in some specific weather conditions. Don't remember which one is low, middle and high layer, try it yourself, f.e. by drawing digits pattern 1 to red, 2 to green, 3 to blue and will see how high they are above the camera and what kind of weather they needed.

The stars is uncontrolled by enbseries.ini and hard coded. What should i do with them?

For moon i don't have time now.

noelgamo:

how the sky affects the lights???

GTA Keeps getting more realistic and more details are coming. I wonder how TBOGT would look with ENB biggrin.gif

Awesome. Just tried your first cloud and it is a big improvement over the default. Thanks for giving us this!

Boris--thank you so much for not giving up on your enbseries! I thought it was perfect already except for the reflection bug and now you have even fixed that ... I know it has been said before but Rockstar should pay you for making the game so much better looking ...

Ok heres a mirror of the stars fix, hope it's not a fail, i'm sure it's the same stars i saw in the screenshots here

http://uploading.com/files/e812ma84/skydome.wtd/

And super heavy clouds made with 65AA, rendered in half a hour with my sh*t pc

those suppose to give you visible horizon clouds, i did one with blur and one without cause i'm not sure which is better...
