kanar
Is this real? 150MB for a display driver seems a little big, considering 9.6 was just 13MB? Am downloading regardless. Will report back, unless I BSOD
Abel.
Is this real? 150MB for a display driver seems a little big, considering 9.6 was just 13MB? This is most likely a complete overhaul, whereas 9.6 was a bug fix.

modCJpls
Can someone report back with results to the Z-fighting. I hate using the 9.1's because the FPS isn't as smooth as 9.4+. But I can't stand all that flickering either xD
Qumulys
Hmmm, I'm wondering whether to give this a go or not. After my last update to 9.6's made life a freaking living hell. Anyone tried it out yet???

truehighroller
Yeah, what did they improve in this one? I will give it a go here soon though, I must ask that question. I just got back from the Bahamas and need a break for a minute before trying these, excellent time.

The Horror Is Alive
Wow, I gained a good amount of FPS and the z-fighting problem is a lot less noticable on buildings. Cars are still just as bad.
Confucius44
Can someone report back with results to the Z-fighting. Ok, I tried them on my 512mb HD 3650. Z-fighting is still present. AMD is clearly not too concerned with fixing this. EDIT: True, it might be a bit better on buildings than in some of the earlier drivers. But try getting in a helicopter and the whole city falls apart.

kanar
GTA IV and Crysis WH gained both from 9.6. Unfortunately although I have a HD4870 1GB I have to use memrestrict under the medium textures level, but refuse to play on low textures, so basically I have VRAM locked at 280MB and sometimes textures load slow.... If I don't memrestrict my GTA freezes and I have to reboot. So I'm at 280MB VRAM use on a 1GB 4870. And I still play with no shadows and my FPS go from 27 to 78 depending on where I am and how much action is on screen, at 1680x1050. I really hope some drivers fix this issue, it seems that my GPU refuses to auto-empty VRAM when it's not needed anymore.

I got problem too with that ''youre FPS is @ 20-70'' because mine's FPS is 60 when i am inside a safehouse, when i get out it drops to 25-30 then when i have plaid sometime and i am driving fast its like 18-25...when i have plaid GTA sometime it starts to lag... Sobek
FYI it's not a leaked driver, I wish people would stop using that word every time a piece of software is made available that isn't final. rFlair released it quite publicly over on Rage3D... In his own words, it could even be the same as the final release at this stage, as WHQL takes some time to complete. They're completely safe to use, and should include just about every fix the official 9.7's will contain. Unless you like to pour a glass of water into your computer every time you upgrade your drivers, there's no real risk to using these - they're no different to an official release. Chevyboy
I wouldn't use leaked drivers as if they have to be leaked they are obviously not ready ..i think will be release soon Actually 99% of the "leaked" ATI drivers (appearing on sites such as guru3d first) end up being the exact same drivers ATI releases a week or 2 later. Your right tho, they are obviously not real and some hoax Would you feel better if the OP had called them release candidate drivers rather than leaked as that is a more appropriate term?
