I do it to combat other people doing it *cough* Christopher D *cough* after they have run behind something like a tree...He thought I was shooting through it, but my aiming reticule was on his head through a tiny gap between the two trees so that only I could see him.

everyone has played someone like this before... first off they will never attack anyone, they never come out in the open or give you a fair shot at killing them. they sit behind a wall and wait for you to approach so they can lock on you (with auto-aim allowed) this is why I stopped playing auto-aim games. with good people it becomes a game of wait-behind-the-wall for people to approach so you can lock on to them while in cover. if auto-aim is disallowed they will wait behind the wall and corner shot you so you have no chance at killing them. it's one thing if you do these tactics once or twice a game, but when they become all that you do, I define them as b*tch tactics and will simply not play with people who do this.

 

I don't think these that's it's even up for debate if these are cheap however there are some more tactics that people use that are borderline. first is, running for the rocket launcher no matter where you are on the map. it's one thing to get it if it's close to you, but there are people who when playing disallow will ALWAYS have a rocket launcher. Another is people who simply won't attack you, ever. They will sit and wait from behind a tree or behind the corner of a building and no matter what they simply will not move. of course they're going to kill you when you're forced to attack them. this can get especially frustrating when playing someone one on one and with no rocket launcher or grenades there is nothing you can do about it.

 

everyone will do these things a little just by playing normally... however it's one thing to do these a few times, it's another to make a habit out of doing these and make yourself appear better than you actually are cause you're good at playing like a b*tch.

Plus being able to sucessfully use the auto-aim syatem requires a bit of finesse or you wont get any kills at all.

I play both, especially if the non aa matches involve skilled players. I find that most public non AA matches filled with randoms end up not being very action packed or fun. I will also likely be on most of tonight and all weekend playing so PLEASE invite me to the fun

 

Theres something about going 108/2 on a 20 minute TDM game filled with 2 player teams that I just cant give up. (All weap, FF on, police off, AA on, respawn MED 1sec, blips ALL, weather NO RAIN)

no I've never been in a combat war situation. There is a difference between real life and a video game. In a tdm with more than 2 teams, trading kills is good as you both gain points on the other teams. In real life, avoiding death is paramount.

 

Tactics are good, I'm not criticizing using tactics. I constantly try to outflank the opponent, outmaneuver them, find elevated positions to circumvent their cover. The people who I play with regularly work well together. The buddy system does work well, one person moves while the other covers. Also drawing an opponents fire to you while someone else comes out of cover and shoots is good too.

Ok first off, corner shooting is not a battlefield tactic. Secondly, running for the rocket launcher every game isn't either. I don't know exactly what you mean by "finesse" but auto-aim doesn't require nearly as much skill as playing without it. One person on this forum got 10 kills in a game simply by taping down aim and shoot then leaving. All you gotta know with auto-aim is where the head is and once you get a feel for it you can find someone's head even when you can't see them. That's not skill that's repetition.

 

I am all in favor of strategizing during a game, there's nothing more boring than lining up on a road and shooting each other continually. But when you find a corner or series of corners and never move from them, there is simply no way to counter it without a rocket launcher or grenades. The fact that you can lock onto someone from cover makes cover positions greatly advantageous to non-cover positions.

 

Tactics are one thing, b*tch tactics are another. like I've said before, it's one thing to do these once, it's another when it's all you do.

If you claim to be godly w/ out AA in your other thread, and post here that you play AA to keep people out of cars cause its too hard to kill them, your no where near it dude. Its not hard at all to kill them if your good. I kill them easily, and i rarely have to dodge them because 95 percent of the time when the drive i get them through the windshield before they come close to hitting me.

Thats difficult to do, I'd use the M4 and go for a headshot. You take them out ages before they hit you so you can jump out of the way of the car with a dead person in it. Most of the time they are firing an SMG at you as well... so standing still against a wall would pretty much end you.

 

Edit: you could use the SMG glitch with the sniper rifle because it's difficult to get a headshot once you missed the first time because the driver will start swerving. if you send 8 fully automatic sniper bullets at the driver's side then that should do it.

I was trying this in A/G war and all it did was set the heli's alight, because of the angle I was at I couldn't shoot the cockpit without getting slaughtered myself.

I think it is a fair complaint that people don't like being targeted via snipers when they wanted their online reticule to disappear (when map blips are on ALL too, I might add.) The ID dot isn't completely off when it is set to off.

EDIT: I have nothing against using "tactics". I use that as well as aim and strife. I just perfer to use all blips, so we can find eachother more quickly, providing more encounters. This works best if you like a faster pace of TDM/DM
