speaking mainly with regards to team deathmatch:

 

everyone has played someone like this before... first off they will never attack anyone, they never come out in the open or give you a fair shot at killing them. they sit behind a wall and wait for you to approach so they can lock on you (with auto-aim allowed) this is why I stopped playing auto-aim games. with good people it becomes a game of wait-behind-the-wall for people to approach so you can lock on to them while in cover. if auto-aim is disallowed they will wait behind the wall and corner shot you so you have no chance at killing them. it's one thing if you do these tactics once or twice a game, but when they become all that you do, I define them as b*tch tactics and will simply not play with people who do this.

 

I don't think these that's it's even up for debate if these are cheap however there are some more tactics that people use that are borderline. first is, running for the rocket launcher no matter where you are on the map. it's one thing to get it if it's close to you, but there are people who when playing disallow will ALWAYS have a rocket launcher. Another is people who simply won't attack you, ever. They will sit and wait from behind a tree or behind the corner of a building and no matter what they simply will not move. of course they're going to kill you when you're forced to attack them. this can get especially frustrating when playing someone one on one and with no rocket launcher or grenades there is nothing you can do about it.

 

everyone will do these things a little just by playing normally... however it's one thing to do these a few times, it's another to make a habit out of doing these and make yourself appear better than you actually are cause you're good at playing like a b*tch.

 

what do you guys think? are these tactics fair because you're able to do them and it's not actually cheating or are they foul because well, they're just annoying?

it is annoying but it all comes down to who has the more kills wins

and the people who hide don't usually win it for the team so it doesn't really bother me

 

it can get frustrating if u were going after a particular person and they are hiding behind something because personally i get easily impatient and end up running to them sometimes u can get them but sometimes u get killed but meh

 

and the RPG is slow so 9 times out of 10 you can kill the person who gets it

 

so overall the tactics are fair but u can let them do it and use them to your benefit

Dude I agree with you 100%. Those are Bi*ch tactics, or noob moves. Just like the players who glitch in buildings or chopper blade to get kills. They say all is fair in love and war, but that doesen't mean that the people doing this crap aren't little Pu*sy bi*ches, Yeah you all know who you are. COWARDS!!!

 

So anyway, after experiencing or putting up with this crap, Here's one thing you can do. and well is what I do. Create your own room. Put settings to Colony Island, Disallow, Assault Rifles, Medium are far spawning, Traffic parked, peds off. This isen't to say there's not gonna be that little scared coward hidding in cover, but I win the Me vs cover taker 9 outta 10 times. And one thing I noticed since playing these settings, is people like to use crouch alot, fine with me, 9 outta 10 on that too. Then you got your typical car Whores. Don't have a problem killing them, it's when your in the middle of a shoot out and they hit you from behind, making you jump outta your seat lol.

Oh and something weird I been seeing alot of. For some stupid reason people like to swim to another Island, or go for a drive like it's friggin Free Mode or something. What is this type of player thinking? You have to feel like a Bit*h doing that. So... whatever COWARDS run, drive or swim away from me as fast as can. Cus I don't like you. NEXT!!!!!!!

Game starts, I get the lead, two poeple quit. So now its 1v1, my opponent had about the same amount of money as me, so the game could've went either way. ( he was the host now ). Same thing happens! I laugh my head off, He tells me I died of cancer in the mouth, he wants to play again. I say "You only get one retry, sorry."

LOL nice 1. In your case that was a smart move, not being a coward at all. I say this also because you offerd to rematch and he chickened out making him the coward. I never get that from people (randomers)

Oh good another whining topic.

I don't play TDM/DM much, but the thing I like most when I play is to find out what pisses someone off the most and then just do it over and over. Over multiple games. If I find out someone hates the RPG, I will only shoot them with the RPG. I love the whining. "Only noobs use RPGssssssssss". That is what I'm looking for. I will follow them to as many games as I can. I don't care how many times I die either. They can shoot me 10-1, but every time I get them I just laugh and they just get sooooooo pissed. If I spawn far from the RPG, I will go totally out of my way, then go all the way back to the RPG hater just to get 1 shot and then he may still kill me and I have to do it again. It never gets old. I will drive around other players just to get a shot at Mr RPG hater.

Or hiding in cover and shooting. Even better is to lob a few grenades cause for some reason it's very hard to see someone lob a grenade from behind a wall.

For some reason, some people hate to get blown up in any way. So sometimes that is all I will do.

Actually the best is the molotiv, lobbing one of those from behind cover cause you can see you're on fire, but you're not dead yet. Those are the hardest to hit someone with though.

BTW, I never feel like I'm forced to attack anyone, Why do you feel forced? If I don't want to attack someone, I don't. I might just treat the game as free mode instead.

It's a game guys, suck it up. Not everyone has the same motivations as you.

 

Edit: You guys must really hate playing at the airport and having all those pilots just killing you over and over again also. They aren't playing the way you guys want to either. What else isn't OK?

In a normal TDM there are multiple ways to approach someone else who is hiding. There is never 1 way in. If you use teamwork (TDM eh?) you can kill all the ones hiding. But noone ever uses a headset, so that also sucks.

I just added QuoTheRaven and he is one of the best players I've seen

 

now in one of our first matches he told me something that blew my mind

 

he told me people kno how to shoot thru objects

 

now why is it that hard to just adjust your technique?

 

whether people shoot thru walls or objects there's a way to kill anyone

 

I for one am usually the agressor I will run up on you with a pistol even if you have an assault rifle and try

 

just master things like the shooting range of the guns(something raven has mastered)

 

use the environment to your advantage. if someone has rockets use hills, objects and walls to deflect his aim or bait for shots.

 

when they run out of there 6 or 8 rockets you make your move.

 

I don't play auto so this is supreme skills. I get mad sometimes and yell out loud which is why I usually don't play wit a mic on.

 

also I'm prone to trash talk, I definitely send taunting messages so being on the mic isn't for me.

 

but I only get mad at my eagerness of running up on opponents which isn't always the best strategy but hey

 

griefers or other players tactics never piss me off

 

it only makes me laugh and adapt a better tactic for the kill

 

if someone goes across the map for rockets, of course me and you might cry foul but hey thas part of the game

 

same thing for people who use vehicles. I for one am not a noob and I can drive and shoot pretty good and I do it often

 

the game is called grand theft auto not urban gun run

 

chopping people with the blades is something I do as well and I don't consider that noobish at all

 

the truth is I can control my heli better than aiming with it and have gotten some pretty amazing blade kills

 

I think people who complain about these things need to step there technique up

 

and if you already are good then there is no point in complaining

 

I love getting all sorts of kills I never limit myself to on foot.

 

I love hitting elite teams with SUVs. if there aim is too good and they shoot the driver up one too many times

 

I will jus use a faster vehicle or approach on foot. technique is everything JC.

It's really crazy how much effort and time some people put into running to mommy and cry about how they dont like other people play games! Really, I cant think of something more odd than this topic.

 

John, Renz and Noinin are damn right. Some of you act like their personal standard or thought of fairness and ways of playing are god given.

 

GTA provides a wide range of possibilities for less skilled players to have a chance in DMs to at least not be totally owned. So what. You get killed in a video game by someone who is not a total nerd about it? Oh my god! May god save your souls!

I can't relate I don't usually have that happen when Auto-Aim is allowed. I will say though that I did do something to that effect one time and laughed my ass off in the process.

 

I was playing Team Deathmatch with one other guy and I ran into an alley to pick up some grenades and the guy was coming close to me. I held the grenade for a few seconds before it explodes and threw it right under his feet.

 

I laughed my ass off so hard when I did that because I honestly didn't think it would have gone off perfectly like it did. I played normally the rest of the match and eventually won but still the grenade incident still makes me giggle now and agian.

I always snipe no matter the weapon. I'll do tactical when necessary. I usually come in top 5 in a >15 player game. It makes most people mad too. People get mad because you take the intelligent approach and win, and they're left mouth breathing. I call it head shot syndrome when losers get mad at snipers.

 

In TDM sometimes people complain about it on your team, even though you're making them all their money.

My theory: There are NO rules in any of the multiplayer modes, just an objective. If you're not using the tactic someone else is using because you think it's a bitch move, then you need to adapt or quit playing. In fact when I was a low rank and didn't know anything all I did was run out and try to kill aggressively, and you know what....I got my sh*t handed to me about every time.

 

I play TW and DM most of the time these days. I go about the game the exact same way I would if I were actually playing in real life. For instance, if you were actually playing in a real life DM would you run out in the open and expose yourself like a fool? I hold the wall whenever I have to to stay alive and protect my turfs. That's where having a team comes in handy, as the opposition can usually figure out how to get you by coming from both sides if someone is holding a wall or corner. Which brings me to the rocket launcher....

 

I make it a point to carry a rocket launcher when I play TW, due to the fact that it's a great tool to have in your arsenal. If you don't carry a rocket launcher because you think it's a bitch tactic then you're at a disadvantage. There are guys that hide inside some buildings or behind/under objects and places that are really only able to be reached by rocket. I love it when guys hide in the building behind the auto parts turf in bohan. I get such a great laugh out of rocket blasting them through the wall or floor. It's especially hilarious when they start vote kicking you after you do it over and over or sometimes they actually leave the game.

 

There are some guys online that I play TW with every now and then that I have heard bitch about people "holding the wall." People like Shester30, MiracleMain, Momma49040 or something like that. They bitch about it but I can't count how many times I've seen them do the very same sh*t in a game. Once I had both this MiracleMain and Shester30 character, along with another one I can't remember trying to kill me to take my turf. I was using a large silo to keep myself protected from fire and try to avoid any rockets. They got all upset after I killed the three of them. Again, WTF do they want me do, just hope out and let all three of them have a field day headshooting me? NO, I did what I HAD to do to protect my turf and help my team WIN!

 

Bottom line IMO is that cover keeps you alive, and if your object is to win you can't do it when you're dying all the time.

 

Oh and on the 30 second respawn guy that likes to snipe, good for you. I usually see this tactic on happiness island where the only sniper rifle spawns conveniently at the statue. I think that could almost be a legitimate bitch tactic. But again, no rules so whatever.
