Gezim
George Simmons (Adam Sandler) is a very successful yet self-involved stand-up comedian who learns that he has an inoperable blood disorder and is given less than a year to live. Ira Wright (Seth Rogen) is a struggling up-and-coming stand-up comedian who works at a deli and has yet to figure out his onstage persona. One thing these different men have in common is that neither of them have any close friends. One night, George takes notice of Ira when they perform at the same club and he hires him to be his semi-personal assistant and opening act at his performances. George and Ira form a close bond as George teaches Ira how to win the crowd and Ira helps the dying George find closure in his legacy. However, when George learns that his disease has gone into remission and an old flame (Leslie Mann) reenters his life, his recent near death experience inspires him to reevaluate what is important to him and what truly gives meaning to his life. Saw a preview of it at the theaters and thought it looked pretty good. Starring Adam Sandler and Seth Rogen, with Will Ferrell, Eric Bana, and Eminem playing a role as well. In theaters July 31, 2009.
asimov
This looks pretty good, I'm a big fan of Adam Sandler though it looks like there won't be any of his trademark fits of rage. Will be seeing it for sure.
debt management plan
Good trailer thanks for that, I liked the line about Deer Hunter. Good to see Eric Banner again. I'm still wanting to see The Hangover, which sounds promising too.
Slamman
I knew about this movie from adverts in print for months on end now, however, they only just started to show the TV ads I wasn't watching online, however.... This IS another Judd Apatow film
Ciabatta
I am a huge fan of Judd Apatow's work as well as most of the actors who appear in his movies. I will definitely be seeing this. It doesn't seem to be like his outlandish style of comedy but a more subtle comedy which I like to see.

SaintJimmy
Will F from Step Brothers is in this? I'm seeing it. I feel kinda sorry for you if Step Brothers is where you first saw Will Ferrell. This movie looks really interesting! Interesting cast...and an interesting plotline. Will definitely be seeing this!
Chunk
I read somewhere that some people who saw previews of this movie said that Adam Sandler might get a Best Actor nomination at the Oscars and Apatow might get one for Best Original Screenplay. Though in my no preview seeing eyes, this film looks pretty good.

Andyzoot
I don't like any film with Judd Apatow's name attached to it. Nothing against the guy, I simply don't find his films funny (with the exception of Superbad and The Cable Guy) but I have to say from the very first time I watched the trailer a couple months ago I immediately thought that this film looked incredibly good. Adam Sandler was great in Punch Drunk Love and I am really looking forward to him in this.

Although they are allowing up to ten nominations for Best Pictures, which is a big change as well.
Don Garcia aka NjNakedSnake
Best Actor nomination? Uh... Yeah, I'd put money down on that not happening. But I'd quickly eat my words if I was proven wrong. I just don't see it, not from the trailers I've seen. Looks like a typical dramedy.
Vanilla Shake
Seth Rogen? I'm in. I like Adam Sandler's older stuff, but his later movies suck. This looks like he could be making a comeback in my eyes. And I really hope Will Ferrell's role in this is very minor. He pisses me off to no avail nowadays. Don Garcia
I watched Inside Funny People at midnight on Comedy Central. Was an hour-long special, that included video diaries from filming, and was very funny. Definitely raised my interest in the movie. And increased my knowledge. I didn't know Apatow did stand-up, and that him and Adam Sandler lived together when they were 20-21 in LA. They showed a bunch of old footage, like a 13 year old Seth Rogen doing stand-up with some awful Carrot Top hair. Showed Adam Sandler doing prank calls back in the day, and Apatow performing at various venues. But my favorite part of it was learning that the actors in the movie had to actually perform stand-up, in front of a crowd not forced to laugh. So Jonah Hill, who's never done it before, like, bombed. It was great, Seth was laughing at his going down in flames. Seth performed, Adam did, Judd did a little, and then there were real comedians who have parts in the film. The funniest of which was Aziz Ansari. He plays a character named Randy. Check out his Funny or Die vids: Raaaaaaaandy! I'm unsure if I should post the Randy part 1 video. The ending has a censored, albeit explicit scene. If you wanna check it out, it is f*cking hilarious, look it up on YouTube. So funny. And on July 24th, Comedy Central is airing Funny People: Live. So you can see Jonah, Seth, and Adam do real stand up. P.S. Appatow says this is the best film he's ever done. I hope that's true.
