alx-ndr
The interesting bits are Spanish gypsies (Gibraltar, not Spain), French Canadians (Nova Scotia) and raiders who used to attack people on the border between England and Scotland (called border reivers). My mother and father are both African and they were born in a town in South Africa (ain't gonna tell which one) but before they got married they moved to America and TA-DAAA. Yeah, but you're still not a 1/3 of each, as you originally said lol. From what you're saying, you're 3/8 Burmese, 3/8 Italian and 1/4 English, which is an interesting (and weird) mix. And besides i was born in england which raises another 1/8 of english into my patriotism, and blood. So that mean i'm 1/3 of each, or what i consider myself. Rob.
My background is pretty much english with some smaller parts from neighbouring countries such as wales, ireland and scotland. Not particularly interesting but I imagine the majority of england are the same.

Sort of, but no one in Britain thinks of each country as the same, it's seperate countries that come under the same government (bar Ireland) but also have their own councils that set laws. "Here are two people almost identical in blood...the same in language and religion; and yet a few years of quarrelsome isolation - in comparison with the great historical cycle - have so separated their thoughts and ways, that not unions nor mutual dangers, not steamers or railways, nor all the king's horses and all the king's men seem able to obliterate the broad distinction." R.L. Stevenson The above quote refers to the English and the Scottish. Britain has history reaching back many hundreds of years. For much of that "Britain" did not exist. Each country in Britain has it's own unique history and traditions. Lots of blood has been spilt by my ancestors to keep us independent.

Did he work in a concentration camp? He died already a few years ago, and don't know much about his background, besides he being an average soldier(second leutenent) or the likes. As usual with german war vets, he was not very comfortable talking about the big war. I asked him how many he killed etc(never gave an answer) but I saw it on his eyes(quite a few me thinks) He was an american POW haha
