Shaunr
So to connect the HDMI cable to the macbook I use the adapter, a HDMI Mini display port adapter, and the picture looks great after I adjust some settings, but no audio is coming from the TV. I go to my sound output settings and I notice the option for audio coming from the Mac's speakers is still selected but there is no option for audio to come from the TV's speakers. Is the problem the adpater? does it only allow video? Because when I tried on my sisters PC, which has a direct HDMI port, the audio came through the TV, and in her audio settings I saw the TV was an option. (but the picture could never get better than it was using my Mac so hehheh.) Please help
Wolf68k
As far as I know that mini port is for video only. It's meant to support DMI, VGA and dual-link DVI. So you'll have to connect to the audio from the Mac some other way.
Shaunr
ohhh. ok. that makes sence. I'll have to find a way to hook up the audio to the stereo system then. Edit: ok, I got the sound to go through the stereo system, which sounds a lot better than just going through the TV. I found this thing which converts headphone to RCA. Wolf68k
That's what I would have used.
