Sound Interface Driver

It works if you have a hard drive on the 360.

Actually, according to the X-Box 360 box, the Pro and Elite models are compatible with the Original X-Box games, but the Arcade model isn't compatible. Hope this helps.

I said the exact thing in a different way.An Xbox 360 Arcade with a hard drive update works with Xbox games.

Yes it 100% works playing my copy from 'The GTA Collection' on original Xbox right now on the Xbox 360 Premium.

To play in widescreen on a HDTV switch your screen to 480p from the System section of the Dashboard.

Enjoy!

GTA3 & Vice City look absolutely amazing played on Xbo360 with HDTV. By far the best looking version of gta3 (compared to the PS2/PC)

As already mentioned, the Arcade console does not have a hard drive but, as long as you have a hard drive on your xbox it does not matter what 360 version you have. Though an internet connection maybe required (idk)

oh this thread is so old... lol?

why did crackwolf bump this? just to say he has all 3? who doesnt they are all under $10 now a days

I have a 120gb xbox 360. I recently purchased gta3 and vice city for old times sake. I got the combo pack for 80 cents... clearance or something. Anyway, when I put in the disk for either game it tells me "This original Xbox game is not supported on your Xbox 360 console..." Why isn't either game working? Here it says it should work.

Any help is appreciated. I know it's an old thread but I need the help.

If I recall correctly you need to download 'Xbox emulator' which allow you to play original xbox games on xbox 360. Emulating software can be downloaded from xbox live when you insert disc containing game compatible with xbox 360 or from xbox.com and installed on your console via CD/DVD/Pendrive.

I've played other original xbox games on the 360 before though with no problem. Why are these two games giving me a problem?

Actually, don't switch to 480p. Both GTA III and Vice City render at 720p on the Xbox 360. They're the only original Xbox games I know of that do that. (San Andreas renders at 480p and scales up, which doesn't look as good.)

I'm surprised these kinds of topics exist, as common sense would say, you put the disc in the 360, and if it loads fine-it is compatible, and if it does not, it is not compatible...It is called "Trial and Error" method. lol tounge2.giflol.gif How hard is that to figure out? confused.giftounge2.giflol.gif

Sorry, I was just confused why it works for some people with the same system and not for other people. Didn't make a lot of sense to me.

Well, a friend of mine brought over his 12gb hard drive and it worked. For whatever reason it doesn't work with the 120gb hd... Not sure what effect the hd has but obviously it has one.

Yesterday I came across the GTA triple pack for Xbox and I came so, so close to buying it, but I hesitated because I didn't now whether they would play on my 360. Bought a 250Gb slim last July.

Then I thought "Hey Manhunt works on it". Now I'm kicking my own ass, because it bet it'll go quick. sad.gif

I feel like its a 50/50 shot whether or not it will work. For whatever reason it works with a different hard drive. I don't understand why the hard drive effects whether or not it will play. Unless the newer/bigger hd's won't be able to save the game...

I took a 10gb traditional hardrive and broke it apart, when you get rid of the shell casing, the actual hardrive fits in to the airvent of the 4gb slim just so I could play it. As long as you have a hardrive, you shouldn't have any problems. The only issue is occasional freezing, so save after every other mission. On Vice City, you'll hear a loud noise that sounds a bit like a blowdryer. But it's not too much of a distraction.

Found GTA 3 and Vice City for the Xbox on an auction website here. I'm actually thinking of buying them even though I don't have an Xbox 360. I might buy one in the future just for these games.

if you have a ps3, dont bother. There most likely coming to the ps2 classics. They sold perfect so it will. The chances of the games coming to the ps2 classics on ps3 is like the chances gta 5 will be released in 2012. Very likely.
