Omnia sunt Communia Posted July 8, 2009 Share Posted July 8, 2009 So what's the story with these? They simply forgot to print a date on a bunch of coins, and now they are collectible? Not quite as simple as that. What happened is that they mixed up the head from the old 20p design (which doesn't have a date) and the tail from the new 20p (which also doesn't have a date). This means it's a misprint. Misprints are worth a lot of money to coin collectors and because there's only a limited number of them in cirrculation (100,000), it means they're even more valuable.
