HANI-KINS
Undated 20p's are worth like, £50. There's quite alot, maybe 20,000 I think, and it has to be a new one, which aren't dated on the back anyway but if there is no date (e.g, 2008, 2009) on the front, then that's £50 in your pocket! Unless ofcourse you stick 'em on eBay, in which case you'll be somewhere around £200 better off if bidding gets hot! I know it's sort of old news, so please don't hate, I just thought it'd be kinda courteous of me to let you all know incase of the off chance you hadn't heard
Effy in Chains
Actually in perfect condition they can go for as much as £5,800 on Ebay, as linked by a member on here a while back.

JayM
I would keep mine for coin collectors in the future willing to pay £25,000 for one, just imagine
Rhoda
Now isn't the time to be selling them though. The reason why people pay so much for them is because as years go on coins will begin to discolour and rather clumsy people will lose these elusive 20p's down the backs of many a sofa. The trick is to find one and then keep it as safe and as clean as you can.
Omnia sunt Communia
I work in a cornershop so whenever I get handed a 20p I always make sure it isn't one of those elusive "misprinted" twenties. Though yesterday when I was counting the money in the till I almost had a heart attack because I thought I'd found four of them!
Vanzant
I know it's sort of old news, so please don't hate, I see this added to quite a few topics around the Forum, does this add "+ Defense"? Every time I hear or read the line, "Don't HATE" I picture a large African Woman wearing Pink latex doing the gangster lean, batting her eyes at me and shaking a coconut. On topic, I never pay any attention to what's going on the surface of any Coins I spend, there could be a pair of tits on one and I would miss it. nerner
My mate found one of those today, he was pretty f*cking ecstatic to say the least. As an aside to this, I really don't get why it should be worth more just because it hasn't got a date on it.

Because they're rare, or will become rare in years to come since only 100,000 or so were minted.
YeTi
It amazes me how stupid most people are. Try searching 20p in eBay completed listings, there are dozens of ordinary 20p's that have sold for upwards of a fiver. R.I.P. I explained to her that these aren't rare, and that the new coin design means the date's on the back.
HANI-KINS
I actually bid on one of the one's on eBay. My max bid was a fiver, but it's gone to about £240 now. But if I did get one, I think I'd keep it too. You can ring up the "money-makers" (I'm not sure of the proper term for them..hah) and ask for a commemorative display box to keep it in! And at Ottae, the new design actually means the date is only on the front because I shat when I saw I had a new one but saw no date on the back, then I checked the front, and there it was.."2009"
Omnia sunt Communia
As an aside to this, I really don't get why it should be worth more just because it hasn't got a date on it. To start off with, the Royal Mint were offering £50 for each one because they were misprinted and so needed to be removed from circulation and reprinted. Secondly, they are rare. Coin collectors are having a field day and these rare 20ps are selling for upwards of £6,000 on eBay. I just wish I could find one before they're all sold and stockpiled. 3minty3
Checked all my 20p's and only one was new and obviously not the rare un-dated type. No luck for me. Looked on ebay and saw a few people selling a normal 20p for £

The new ones (with the lion on the back) have the date on the front. You just posted a picture to prove it.

truthypants
Wait, that's the back? I always considered the 'heads' side to be the back of a coin. Tails is the back... because tails are on the back! It figures.
Eminence
Yeah, but the way heads is the same on every coin the one with the distinctive pattern or whatever it is being on the other side I just have set in my mind as the top of the coin, despite all other logic you decide to throw at them. Eminence
Wait, that's the back? I always considered the 'heads' side to be the back of a coin. Where the hell is your head? See my post above. The side that actually discerns the value of the coin is most often tails, for example by saying '10', '20' or what have you, so I take this to be the 'front' of the coin, regardless of the 'heads/tails' attributes. CharmingCharlie
I got to tell you I am not the biggest fan of this new coin, looks bloody awful. If you ask me having a half chopped off lion on the back makes it look like someone misaligned the minting machine. However on topic I did come across one of these coins the other week and thought for a second it was one of the rare ones. Alas it wasn't to be the old hag on the other side had the date (probably the only date the bitch will ever get).

3minty3
Sucks how they dont go together like a jigsaw unless you seperate them apart. I asked my friend to check if he had any and he thought he had due to the mix up between back and front. Turns out he had 5 new and normal 20p coins. K^2
Wait, that's the back? I always considered the 'heads' side to be the back of a coin. Yeah. I also always thought that the "head" is the back side of the coin. So what's the story with these? They simply forgot to print a date on a bunch of coins, and now they are collectible?
