Nevakonaza
I re-installed GTA IV and my cd key activates fine,But when i go on Windows live and sign in i get this Ive tried so many times and nothing....looked on google and cant seem to find a fix? I contacted Microsoft...asian woman ansred and she couldnt understand me very well....i explained again and she then said i needed to contact Msn....so i looked on the Msn site,No number..cant find a damn thing. So i contacted Rockstar support, they said its a problem on Windows live side...i already know that but im getting nowhere with them...he gave me another number which was dead..... Im so pissed about this! There just isnt any support out there. Anyone else had this problem??

Marsmillo
Ow crap, How many times did you install it? And on how many computers? Maybe xliveless can help you out? It disables Games for Windows Live Ow, and I hope publishers and designers will ban GFWL in new games. I really hate the hole concept of it, no dedicated servers and always logging in and sh*t

But still,They should not restrict you like this,if they realy had to they should at least provide us with some decent support to get it back working again if this happens. theres nothing! oh and only one one pc...my gaming pc
mkey82
What Marsmillo said, if you use xliveless you'll at least be able to play single player. That could be a solution... (The thing about "The Club") but... I'm sure that they eventually will give you a new key... they have to. I have a friend who went over the same thing... with "Fallout 3" and after a few phone calls recieved a new key the same day, but they asked him for a number on the Game Manual and another one that was written on the DVD itself... Also, if you reformat again... with "The Club" you will have a few backup activations... That was on the support line of Games for Windows here in my country (Spain). I actually just found my cd key for The Club that I got back when Sega was handing out keys, works like a charm. Suppose this will do for now. I might pick up another copy, they are $4.70 on amazon, and I can see myself needing atleast 1 or 2 extra keys for future games. I also own Fallout 3, Lost Planet and Dawn of War II so I will more than likely need them eventually. I've tried the US support number off the Games for Windows site but it's actually the XBOX Live site, and after two tries of getting nowhere I gave up on that. Did you read this post in the topic I listed? You could use a serial from some other (cheaper) GFWL game. Edited July 8, 2009 by mkey82
Nevakonaza
Yes i did,I tried my cd key from Frontlines fuel of war which is also a GFWL...and it said incorrect number! it doesnt work...anyway i shouldnt have to sacrifice another game...its not my mess its microsofts. mkey82
The problem is people here who aren't related to you in any way care more about this issue then MS does
