GodfatherITB
For some reason, my stumbleupon toolbar just stopped showing up as well as some other addons I had. Every now and then it used to show up but disappear the next time I launched Firefox and now it's just completely gone. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling it as well as Firefox itself. I've tired everything I could find on google and none of it has worked (Control + F11 won't work, View > Toolbars doesn't even list stumbleupon, deleting certain cache related things in the Profile folder didn't work...) It seems like there are a bunch of people having the same problem as me, but no one I've seen has been able to fix it. Also, sometimes when I try to launch FF it will just sit there and do nothing. When I go to Task Manager, it says FF is already running at 150,000K mem usage and will only open after I end the process. Any reason for this? Help with any of these things would be much appreciated, thanks.
Wolf68k
It would help to know which version of FF. If you're not sure or don't know where to look; Firefox->Help->About Mozilla Firefox If you had 3.0.x and it worked just fine there but then updated to 3.5 that might have something do with it. If you added another extension that too could have something to do with it as well. (I really hate having to type this all of the time) * Exit Firefox * Rename the Profile folder: XP - C:\Documents and Settings\<username>\Application Data\ Vista - C:\Users\<username>\AppData\Roaming\ Find the Mozilla folder and rename that * Run FF reinstall the extension in question and then do whatever to recreate the problem. If it works just fine then start adding extensions back one at a time until the problem shows itself again. Disable the last extension to see if the problem fixes itself. GodfatherITB
Thanks for your response. I tried what you suggested and it didn't show up still. It's version 3.5, but the problem had been going on before that, I'm pretty sure. I started with a completely fresh FF (got rid of all my old stuff when I tried uninstalling for the millionth time) and installed Stumbleupon before anything else and it still doesn't work. Any other way you can think of that might fix this?
WhatsPoppin
Try and see if StumbleUpon works in other browsers to see if this is just a FF problem
GodfatherITB
Try and see if StumbleUpon works in other browsers to see if this is just a FF problem I just downloaded it for Internet Explorer and it works fine. So I guess there's something wrong with my FF, but that's really odd because it works for everyone else I know who runs it on FF and I never had a problem when I started using it. Plus I uninstalled and reinstalled without saving any of my addons or bookmarks or anything.
Whytey
It's probably not fully compatible with FF3.5 Checking on Mozilla's Add-on page - Last Updated April 22, 2009. Since upgrading to 3.5 i've had a few addons/plugins that do not work either.
