kuro-neko
I would like to be a history teacher one day, but I would not like to stay in just one career for the rest of my life. I also want to go teach English in Japan, but I do not want to be a useless classroom assistant who cannot speak a word of Japanese but still manages to teach somehow. Kippers
I know i'm definitely going to be doing something in Video Production area of Media. Behind the camera. Maybe editing or the actual cameraman. I started Media last September, and i'm one year into the a 2 year course at College. I'm a straight Distinction student (Thus far) and won 2 Media Awards last week 'Best Post-Production' and 'Best Thriller video' And i've entered my first video competition, and with the feedback i've recieved via facebook and the OGA has been rather positive (obviosuly not perfect) Plus i've been searching and found some potential work experience over the summer which allows me to produce my own short videos with the possibility of real pay (iow a job lol ) So, maybe camera man or something to do with the control over the cinematography. But that's the area of expertice i'm aiming for with high potential according to the teachers. We'll see where life takes me when I get to Uni after my College course. 習うより慣れろ
AndyGanteks
Well, if at some point i get desperate, i'll just jump off a bridge and DIE. In all the other situations, i'd be a photographer or something that has connections to videos/movies/cameras...etc

Daint
Similarly to alot of people in this topic I've got no f*ckin' clue as to what I wanna do with myself. Really, my only interests and hobbies are smoking weed, eating, sleeping, f*ckin', gaming and watching movies. So who knows? I'm just hoping something will sort itself out . Eminence
You probably know where I hope to end up, haha. I think the key thing to really think about is that nobody can decide for you; you truly do have to think of it on your own. No tests, assessments, friends or other know everything about you inside, so it's up to you to really formulate that decision and think about what it is you want out of life. Chunk
I'd like to work in a book store. Not one of those high-street ones like Waterstones, but a nice little one where I could recommend books to a vast array of people. That really appeals to me. And Kaden, just do whatever you want to do. Don't take some test, only you can decide for yourself.
D- Ice
join the army! thats the best thing us euros could do. because its only a question of time before america will invade us. the Americans sees us europeans as sub-human, they want to kill us, they want to kill our family. they would kill european children for fun. so we have to be ready to defend and fight. i am planning on moving to russia and joining their army. its only a question of time! Replace "Europeans" with "Iraqis". And maybe also replace "Americans" with "Americans and Iranians". I'm gonna be a male stripper/jiggalow who dresses in a sexy doctor's costume over my very tight latex-packed merchandise...
Brad
Applying for the R.A.F in my second year of sixth form while doing my A-Levels. Hopefully, I'll go to R.A.F Cramwell and graduate as an officer and go to RAF Valley to fly fast jets or fly Boeing E-3 Sentry's or possibly Nimrods. I'm not really bothered about if I go to fast jets or not, I'm more bothered about flying. But like any guy who loves flying, the Typhoon would be a deep down dream, however, I will seriously not be bothered if I was flying shuttles from Brize Norton to Afghanistan. With that under my belt, anything else in aviation and beyond will be great and it is a good life.

Stuch
I'm in a similar situation, although I'm only starting out rather than having had any work under my belt. I know you said you want to try something new, but you could do well to look inside your current employment. Depending on who exactly you work for, they may have a management training scheme which you could get onto. Eventually you could work your way up the organisation and who knows, become the CEO some day? Retailers love growing their own and bringing employees up through the organisation - you should research what kind of internal opportunities there are. It could be a long haul though, so it may not appeal to you. And of course, it totally depends on your employer. Good question. I honestly don't know what I'm going to do with my life. I never planned for anything. I just like to take things the way they come. A few years back I wanted to be an electronics engineer. Two years into that sh*t and I knew I didn't like it. I completed it though. Perhaps, I should have undergone career counselling or something. But the one I took a few years before that told me to get into Biomedical engineering. I was least interested in that so I'm not sure how accurate these career deciding tests are. Right now, I'm venturing into networking. I'll see how that pans out. I still have a few years on my hands to choose something definitive and settle down with it. One of the options I'm looking at now is to do an electronics and software engineering course. It all seems appealing now, but two/three years into it is my worry. What specifically turned you off it? Also, I kept getting told that the opportunities stemming from this are vast, at the moment at least. True? Apart from that, my lifelong dream as it where, is to become a pilot. I love planes, I love travelling, I don't like the thought of having nothing to 'revolutionise'. It seems like everything about being a pilot is already written down, there's nothing to discover! That's what lead me else where, plus I can always get a private pilots license.
Omnia sunt Communia
Thank you for the advice Stuch, though sadly I work in a privately owned cornershop, so the only career prospects are shelf-stacker and cleaner; which are already two tasks I do anyway. I'm really trying to get out of the retail sector, because I have been there for a long time and I frankly find little joy in it. I want to try something new and fresh and even if I fall flat on my face or find I don't like it; I've still got years of retail experience to fall back on. ChanandlerBong
I have 2 things I would possibly like to do but cannot choose. 1. A modern languages teacher mainly because I think I am good at working with other people and teaching them new things and also I am good at mod. languages (I do 3 in school and got over 90% in all at the end of this year) As well I think it would be fun to be a teacher. 2. Motoring journo. I have loved cars since I was born, never really into football but I love cars. I am pretty certain I could name 99% of cars on UK roads. I am pretty good at writing things and enjoy it a lot. Ideally I would like to get near to where Jeremy Clarkson is, broadcaster and writer with plenty of cash. I love trying to plan out my future though and really think about it, though some people do not.
trickstar34
I'm a web designer and I'm only 19, it pays $300,000 + a year, I am a contracter with that, never work for a company, start your own business, it pays more if you know how to get your name out there. I'm still going to a university for computer engineering and getting a degree for web design and physics, so my career is based around computers and I think I'm doing a good job, I only had one thing go wrong which was when a server I invested into crashed, but it's recovered now and I'm in good shape. I next year I am going to go to a video game development class. When I graduate I am either going to be a physicist, continue my web design business, or apply to Rockstar New York and attempt to get in on developing Grand Theft Auto. That's my plan. trickstar34
It looks better, I've been turned down before because I don't have one. Besides I'm not studying, I'm just saying I am when the professor asks because I already know what he is teaching, and it also improves my skills to learn things I don't know. Brad
It looks better, I've been turned down before because I don't have one. I don't understand, why would you need to have a degree when you have your contracts or pay as a credential for your work? I know people who have been awarded degrees but still earn around $30,000. trickstar34
You need to live around people who own small businesses, my first client ever was an author, now I am doing things mostly for small business owners. I get a lot of clients, about 2 or 3 every 2 weeks, the reason I make so much is because the more advanced stuff they want me to do, I charge higher, and they understand that. Brad
Here was my first clients website maryelizabethspreitzer.com the contact at the bottom is how you can contact us for a job, if I receive any spam from anyone you will be reported to a law enforcement office. I am located in Iowa, USA, so you need to local or be able to discuss things by e-mail. How you can receive up to $300,000 for websites like that is beyond me. Doink
I'm going to be an elementary school teacher. Yeah, I know the pay will be really crappy, but I really don't care. I want to make a difference in a child's life, Plus, it'll be a perfect career for raising a family. We will get vacations off together and everything, so I'll be happy. @trickstar: I'm sorry, but websites like that don't look like they're worth the $300,000 you claim to make. I don't doubt you get paid for it...but really...not that much. Edited July 5, 2009 by Doink
Seachmall
if I receive any spam from anyone you will be reported to a law enforcement office, we are registered under a protected warenty with local offices and they will contact higher levels if that warenty is breached. This forum has members all over the world and I doubt the FBI will be filling extradition papers to help you with your spammer. Just so you know.
