faro0485
What's better, a fast graphics card with 512mb of gfx memory, or slow one with 1gb of memory... Or does a 2gb 9600gt out do them?
Superb
It will let you have higher quality settings with more memory on the card, but a slower card with higher memory will give you less FPS.
MonkeyMhz
Always take the faster card (a GTX260 768mb over a 9600 with 1GB), also memory types play a role. A 512MB GDDR3 card will perform much much better than a 512MB DDR2 card. My 4890 is only 1GB GDDR5. I use -norestrictions to push everythng up max, I exceed the VRAM, but I get no stutters or anything because it keeps up. So yea, always go for the faster card. But I woulden't ever recommend using norestrictions to push everything up unless you have a enthusiast grade card, 4850+ or GTX250/260+. shadowpope17
Dont get upsessed with the video memory. yeah its good to have more, but the faster card will be faster and will perform better. If you get a crap card with loads of memory you aint gonna be able to pump up the settings anyway because the fps will be so bad.

GTX250 has the same specs as a 9800GTX+, you can even flash your 9800GTX+ into a 250.

Girish
dude nice avatar. BUCKET HEAD OWNS !!! Who is he ?? Don't make off-topic posts. You can PM him if you want to know. which is better? ATI or Nvidia ? who makes the best card ? Both are leading manufacturers of graphic cards. To choose between them depends on your personal preference and to some extent, your budget. Lodis
which is better? ATI or Nvidia ? who makes the best card ? You can have the best Graphics card in the world but if the driver support is lacking, then you can't really get the most out of it. I have heard many people say that ATI have better card but lack driver support when compared to Nvidia.
