Dup
I went to the Goodwood Festival of Speed yesterday (for the none UKers, it's just about the biggest event where you can get close to (like, close enough to get in) some of the most iconic motorsport verhicles in the world, and then they run them up the hill climb all weekend. Set off at 3am Friday morning, arrived bang on 7am after a 288 mile drive then set off back at about 7pm and arrived home at 1am thanks to the most of the motorways being closed for road works. All on 2 hours sleep before we set off! I have loads of pictures. Only took our compact camera but got some good ones. It was all too much to take in, never been to such a big event and despite covering myself with cream my face and next are burnt to satanic shades of red. So many iconic cars and getting to hear them all day long was just inspiring tbh. It was really worth it just for the Red Arrows. I've never seen them before and was just expecting a flyover but wow, awesme stuff. Listening to an F1 car doing a burnout about 4 metres away is f*cking immense too. Me in the GT-R (want want want) Absolutely mental sound from this: Pretty much did this burnout the whole climb: Here's the rest of the pics: http://www.duperouzel.co.uk/misc/meets/goodwood09/
chris
What the hell is that in your 3rd pic, looks brutal! The Lambo SV is just god damn beautifull.

Lurch
Goodwood is simply amazing. Nowhere else in the world will you see such a wide variety of old race cars strecthing their legs again. Props to Dup for getting this stuff up. Edited July 5, 2009 by Lurch

Kaj.
I've heard that the 8C Competizione sounds mental. Did you get a good listen to it Dan?

Dup
I've heard that the 8C Competizione sounds mental. Did you get a good listen to it Dan? Yeah I did. The problem is that we had the Caparo T1, Ariel Atom 300, RUF CTR-3 and that outlandish Zonda which all sounded absolutely mental, so then the 8C comes past it sounds a bit tame, but nice all the same. On its own I probably would have been more taken back by it, but ost other cars overshadowed it. I did get a look round one quite up close though, there was a bout 3 includng a cabrio there and it oozed quality. The most disappointing sounding car on the day (bar the electric motorbikes and cars) were the two Veyrons. I was never a fan of the looks but seeing one up close I can appreciate them more. They didn't give it much speed up the Hill climb though. I didn't get pics of everything there by a long shot, it was s busy it was very hard to get close to some cars. dog_day_sunrise
The CTR-3 is without a doubt the meanest looking car I've ever seen in my life. Around 700bhp, 0-60 in 3.2 seconds, top speed of 234mph and razor-sharp handling for £220k? Bargain. Expecting it to take the 'Ring record at some stage soon. The IMSA Audi 90 is utterly brutal, and I'd staple my balls to a wall to own that Rothman's 917.
Lurch
The 917's are nothing short of amazing, especially the /10's and the /30. Hell, the 908's are equally impressive. Amazing cars for sure. @DDS - Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't the Rothman's sponsored car a 956? Or is there a 917 somewhere that I'm missing? dog_day_sunrise
@DDS - Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't the Rothman's sponsored car a 956? Or is there a 917 somewhere that I'm missing? It IS a 956. There were a fair few 917's at the FOS and one might have been in Rothman's colour scheme, but I can't remember. Most likely answer is I got my chassis ID numbers crossed
Dup
There weren't any Rothmans 917, don't think there ever was, was there? The closest is the Martini 917. I always get my Porsche chassis IDs mixed up, such a headache! The 956 is my favourite, sounds awesome too.
