Eoghan
Nothing is f*cking happening. What's happening is that everyone feels they need to make a topic for every dead celebrity since Michael Jackson's. They're dying at the same rate, you guys are just whoring out every little death and turning it into a topic. This. I fully agree. Jackson dies and now every single person who had fifteen minutes of fame(or less) is getting a R.I.P. topic. Seriously 90% of the posters here never heard of this guy, but people are just making worthless "R.I.P." posts. Jackson's death was an interesting subject, but this guy's just isn't. No offence to him, and I don't want to seem disrespectful, of course it's sad that he died, but that doesn't make it interesting to discuss his death. Please stop making this R.I.P. topics unless someone really famous, and interesting dies. As I'm posting I might aswell R.I.P. Steve McNair. Slamman
^ Exactly, but in the case of Earl Root's death, it was both sad and untimely, and he was as Priest put it, a "METAL GOD" I won't derail the topic further, but I agree that if you're a fan of something, these things mean something to you and others. It's certainly not the case of one person knowing them only.

I don't "complain in every single RIP topic" I noticed about seven worthless RIP topics sprout up after Jackson's death, and this is the first one that I have posted in. I would guess that on average someone who was previously a professional athlete dies atleast one time a day, probably more. If there was a topic for every single one of them it would be just boring. Mainland Marauder
The "if you don't give a sh*t, don't post" rule is now in effect for this topic. Do not come in here to say you don't care or you don't like American football. Just move the f*ck along. On topic - I got to see McNair play as a rookie in 1995 for the Houston Oilers, right before they moved to Tennessee to become the Titans. It's a sad day in the NFL. Runey
Gronf as much as I respect you this is not just some obsure little celebrity. Not someone who had 15 minutes of fame back in 1972. (Basically people the majority have not heard of)I am not a big watcher of NFL but even I knew of Steve McNair. I know he has done enough, like MJ and Billy Mays to deserve his own topic Ok but he doesn't even hold a candle to MJ or Billy Mays. You can't even compare them to some armored throwball athlete. We f*cking get it, you hate American football.
Bigs
This news saddens me. As an Indianapolis fans, we always had a rivalry with Tennessee but nonetheless it was apparent to me that he was a nice man. Always came across as polite and whatnot. Not to mention his obvious athletic talent. RIP, Steve McNair.
Zxirius.
For those saying this guy simply had 15 minutes of fame need to shut the f*ck up and learn the facts. Steve McNair was a big name in American Football, and I believe many Americans who didn't even give a sh*t about football knew of him and what he did. It's big news here in the United States, especially since he was shot to death. This just adds another death investigation for the news to ramble about. As a Chicago Bears fan, and the Chicago Bears being known for their sh*tty offense, I could only wish he be our quarterback. RIP
Pat
As an Indianapolis fans, we always had a rivalry with Tennessee Try having most of your relatives live in IN when you yourself live in TN. Our Thanksgiving dinners are usually... pretty awkward. Anyway, I heard he was shot, but I didn't know any of the specifics, or that it was fatal. He was a great guy, played a sh*tload of volunteer charity games.
Slynke
So the most info I've managed to gather on this is that it was both him and his girlfriend, at his girlfriend's condo (which he frequently visited). Also that it was a single shot to the head to both.. Ugh. Somebody better go down for this one. And let's not forget his 13 years as an NFL QB, 11 of those with the Titans. Girish
Don't follow rugby so I haven't heard of this player but the name 'McNair' caught my attention. It sounds like a South Indian guy strolled into McDonald's, liked it and adopted the 'Mc' before his last name. Anyways, looking at his career stats, he seemed like a pretty good player. Getting killed is a very sad way to go though. R.I.P.

yzzybones
This is interesting... NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Police were working Sunday to unravel the relationship between slain former NFL quarterback Steve McNair and his friend, a 20-year-old woman who was found shot to death alongside him in his downtown condominium. McNair, who led the famous Tennessee Titans' drive that came a yard short of forcing overtime in the 2000 Super Bowl, was found dead on a sofa in the living room Saturday with multiple gunshot wounds, including one to the head. His friend, Sahel Kazemi, was very close to him on the floor, killed by a single gunshot. A pistol was discovered near her, but police said it took a while to find the firearm. Authorities didn't immediately say who was to blame for the killings, but they weren't looking for any suspects. McNair, 36, and Kazemi were together just two days earlier, when she was pulled over driving a 2007 Escalade registered to her and McNair. She was arrested on a DUI charges, and he was allowed to leave in a taxi. McNair and Kazemi apparently knew each other from a restaurant the quarterback and his family frequented, but workers there wouldn't talk about their relationship. Police also refused to release any details about their relationship, simply calling Kazemi a "friend." Source Edit:sorry for double post

GTA3Rockstar
Fantastic quarterback, former league MVP, 3 time Pro Bowler, who played through almost all pain and led the Titans to within a yard of a Super Bowl victory. But above all else, he was a great guy off the field. RIP Steve McNair. Would've forced overtime in that Super Bowl. Neither the less, RIP Steve.
