uNi
For some reason Firefox isn't saving my cookies at all, I have to login everywhere everytime. I have the option to store cookies checked, but once I close the browser it sets it to default ones. Â Any ideas of what might be causing this? supermortalhuman
Hey uni, Â Are there any errors or warnings in Tools -> Error Console? (there should be common warnings and errors, so try to check right as this occurs to be sure) Â Can you try Start -> Run -> ' Firefox.exe -profilemanager ' (no '), create a new one (name test or something) and see if it occurs there, in a new profile? Â If it is working right in a new profile, perhaps there is a new plugin, or recently updated plugin, or recent firefox update that clashed with that plugin etc. It's a good place to check first. If you find no errors, but find that your new profile is functional, it could be a problem with your user table or cookies.sqlite. In my case, if I experience things like this, I tend to be overly-paranoid and deep-six my default account, opting for the new functional one. Bookmarks can be transferred with ctrl+shift+b or the bookmark menu -> organize. You can save the backup without going to the appdata there, and then import it to your new functional profile. Â Before making the jump to an all new profile, it can be good to try disabling some plugins/extensions to see if one of those is the culprit. Let me know! GTArv
Tools » Options » Privacy  If you've enabled "Always clear my private data when I close Firefox", disable it completely, or click on "Settings.." next to it, and then uncheck the 'Cookies' option. uNi
I hadn't that checked, the new firefox has 3 privacy profiles, only the first one works, if I choose one of the other ones it resets itself after a while. Wolf68k
Exit FF Go to.... XP: C:\Documents and Settings\<username>\Application Data\ Vista (and I think 7) C:\Users\<username>\AppData\Roaming\ Rename the Mozilla folder Start up FF, ignore importing IE bookmarks Go to a site and login Restart FF and go back to same site Did it remember your login? Check settings: Tools->Options->Privacy->Firefox will: Use custom settings for history->Clear history when Firefox closes->Settings->Cookies=unchecked. Â If it remember your cookies just fine there, go back to your previous Mozilla folder. And double check the settings. Also check with any addon you have that might be deleting the cookies. I use CookieCuller which does have a settings to delete unprotected cookies on startup (not set by default). I love this extension, I can pick which cookies to keep and the rest get cleared out, so no more worrying about having spy-cookies still hanging around that didn't get cleared out while still keeping the cookies for the sites I go to ie: gtaforums.com
supermortalhuman
What? You mean you can't use the profile manager anymore? I've got to check this

The problem is that I set it to "use custom settings" and once I close FF it sets it back to "never remember".
Wolf68k
Which means there is either a conflict with an addon or the prefs are hosed. Did you try it using a clean profile like I start at the start?
uNi
Yeah it does the same thing, plus I don't have any addons.  EDIT: I've created a new profile trought -p this around and the settings are now saving correctly.  Thanks for the help guys! Wolf68k
OK wait, if you create a new profile and it's working fine but when you did what I told you it doesn't? That sounds to me like you didn't do what I first told you because that would have created a new profile as well just in a different way (a more clean way). uNi
It didn't save the first time, don't know why, I might be the cause for that. Â Â
supermortalhuman
It seems like the profiles extend further than they did before, into other parts of the application, I'm not sure. I'm glad you got it sorted.
