alright do what ya gotta do

 

so how stable is your delorean anyways

 

how long can you drive around in til it crashes ?

it has'nt crashed once so its completely stable. the batman car crashed alot but that was because i connected the chassis to the wheels lol

if its completely stable and doesnt get the SMAP50 whatever Error are you gonna release it soon after you finish texturing it

added some textures. But the shader information sucks..... nothing changes while editing them.... but finally bump maps are working xD

It's the Mustang Fastback from Carface with some modification made by me, like the wheels and some other little parts.

It took me about 7 hours to convert it from SA to this point.

Even the suspension animation works and the lights. I have added some extras too, but I haven't seen the car yet with the extras Ingame. turn.gif

 

In the pictures above, the wheels looking real good, but I have the problem, that the wheels change they reflections extremely, if I move the car a bit.

I changed the "user definded options" in the material editor and set everything to "0.00" but nothing changes.

The funny thing is, If I change the texture name of the wheel, the textures are missing ingame (they are invisible). But if I name it to "tire" it works but with too shiny reflections.

All other textures/reflections working good. It's just the damn wheel. suicidal.gif

 

 

 

@JKM: Your project looks real good. smile.gif Even the wheels are working. Not as shiny as mine.

Thanks :> its just an unfinished model made for 2 years... but with IV I will definitly complete the model...But your Mustang looks really awesome, too dude^^

 

But my wheels aren't working too. Just used a good perspective (same like you) xD

I will try every shadername.. maybe one of them will work for us.

@Fubar: looks like your chrome shader for those bumpers and trim works, cant you use the same for your rims?

Yeah, I saw it but the Mustang has no texture with a alpha map at this time.

That is the next "problem" that I will try to solve because I want some stripes as an extra and I can only do that with a alpha map.

Maybe the problem is the .wtd file. Every normal texture is a DXT1. Textures with alpha maps must be a DXT5.

Too bad that your wheel is also messed up with the reflections. So I guess your wheel texture name in the material editor is also "tire", right?

Like I said, every other texture/reflections are working great without any problems. It's just the wheel who make problems. Even If I use the same settings from the working textures. And if I use this setting nothing changes or actually the whole wheel disappear.

yep im also using "tire" atm... tried 4 other shader names like generic, basic but everytime the wheel dissapears^^

btw I used a dxt5 compression and alpha is activated in dds... I guess another shader problem...

At this time i only tried "mesh" with alpha... should make more experiences^^

 

btw. I think its a bug maybe.... dont know but look at this picture:

As you can see the front wheel looks perfect... if it should be any sort of reflections it has to show up for the front wheel too in this viepoint.

If I change the point of view sometimes the black half filled line dissapears... thats really strange and not normal for actual reflections...

Thats really not normal for reflections. But as far as I can see it's just your rim who makes problems. But the tire looks perfect and has no reflections.

Yes its true. Im using 3 variants of my tire texutre... one without specular and reflections for the tire, one with specular and no reflections for the rim and one version with bumpmaps also for the tire.

But if i delete personal shader infos nothing changes... specular is still everywhere... and i believe that theres no reflection becuase its a very dark texture...

 

Edit: I am using 1 object like example packs version

Well, the original schafter file has two seperate textures for the wheel. One for the complete tire and one for the rim. Because you can change the color of the rim ingame.

I have also two seperate textures for the rim and the tire but I still have the problem. confused.gif

Wow thats the cleanest model in game so far! Guys keep it up cause now i gotta Buy GTA IV Buy A New Card + Power Supply lol

No, because that's the physics engine. RAGE is the graphical engine. Well, if you want to know more about physics, you may mail NaturalMotion.

Can any1 tell me how can I tell my zmodeler, so it'll know where the vehshare textures are? I added them in the materials list, but they are not applied on the model whatsthat.gif
