gamesguru Posted May 16, 2010 Share Posted May 16, 2010 Ha ha, seems like a lot of people are having some really hard times on this game. Skate as always had a few rock-hard gems in each instalment. The Deathrace I mentioned earlier, I did it round a friend's today (I was helping him get use to the game too, as was his first time playing the Skate series), and nailed the race first time (Perilous Path, I think it is). The main problem is when the game asks to do something with almost no discription or solid location. Often during the checklist challenges its not clear what you need to do, and worst of all, the challenges arent unlocked till the ones on screen are gone, which is a pisspoor way to do things. Also, annoying gameplay flaws which make it difficult to do something which should be easy. The game is easy, just sometimes things are way more difficult than they are initially intended to be due to them being set up badly. You seem to always have stupid obstacles you shouldnt have. Some cool improvements but it's too much like Skate 2 and has the problems each EA sequel has, I see that Black Box didn't work that much on this. gamesguru Posted May 19, 2010 Share Posted May 19, 2010 Really enjoying Skate 3. I've just got to Kill the Hall OF Meat challenges and a few odd ones I'm having difficulty with. Some of the Own The Lot and Kill objectives are ridiculously frustrating and took a lot of patience. As for online, I can't say I'm enjoying that. I'm constantly kicked for no reason, sometimes it's hard to find the game you want. The game sometimes will freeze every 30 seconds or so just to have the annoying 'Waiting For Players' sign to pop-up, leaving you waiting for a further 10 seconds. Then, sometimes the game gets stuck on the loading screen. The servers can be extremely laggy sometimes too. The online achievements are awful in that regard. I hate that you HAVE to be in an 'official' team just do Ranked Team games, so it looks like I'm going to have to try and get some friends together. Any of you guys in a team? Not only that, they should allow for random Ranked Team games. Being kicked and and having people unwilling to do any task is all down to the community however. Im near to finishing the SP career and I thought that it would be better online, I mean I liked it but it was nothing near Skate 1 and 2's careers, but the online mode failed too. Since then I've been busy trying to kill the same challenges, and I've been working on a custom park: If you don't know, it's Rob Dyrdek's Fantasy Factory. It's taken a few hours just to get what you've seen. FullMetal Posted June 6, 2010 Share Posted June 6, 2010 Eventhough alot easier than Skate 2, they improved alot in this game (and added alot of new things aswell). I played it over at a mate's house yesterday and it's pretty cool. Visuals are also more appealing (instead of cartoony it's a bit more realistic, especially characters). Cheat Posted September 12, 2010 Share Posted September 12, 2010 Cool for someone to bump the topic up, because I've got addicted to the game again, mostly due to the fact that my chance of playing online is temporarily gone. However, I think the game doesn't even need a multiplayer, or at least I don't need one, because the coolest thing in Skate's is that you can just skate around, look for spots, film stuff and have fun. Aside from missions, I never really visited the Industrial area but I've started exploring it a bit more and it's awesome, despite that Port Caverton is nowhere near San Vanelona - hell naw! - the city is cool once you start getting around. The real fun is like cheat said, in finding unique spots like gaps and lines and making videos. I wish they would release the original San Vanelona, as well as New San Vanelona as DLC for Skate 3. I got Skate 3 not too long ago, really an amazing game but I can't access its online features. When I start up, it connects me to EA Nation but after authorizing (?) user, it says that the EA server is not available at this time. But I can't couple it to my first e-mail address, because I coupled my gamertag with my 2nd e-mail some time ago but now I forgot the password of the 2nd e-mail.
