Im getting mine tomorrow due to the release date in the UK. I just cant wait to make my own park and see how much fun and playability the game has in store.

Getting my copy tomorrow. GAME have an offer where if you trade in Just Cause 2 you can get the game for half price. So I'm taking advantage of that, there are three other games you can trade in for the offer too but I've forgotten the other. Though I believe that Super Street Fighter 4 and FIFA 10 are two of them...

Just started playing and WOW. Pretty good so far, only done the skate school and the PCU tour but its pretty damn impressive, the character customisation looks brill, a shame almost everything is locked from the beginning though, oh well, gives more reason to play i guess. Also everything seems a lot more fluent to me, more smooth than skate 2, but that could be me.

So is it worth buying? I got 15 minutes to decide so I rly hope yall answer. I love skate 1 & 2 to death so the setup wont be too new fo me, is it new enough?

Depends really. I loved Skate 2, and Skate (although I've never finished it) but Skate 3 apart from all of the new sh*t thrown in it still feels like Skate 2 to be honest. I mean now you've got a team to play with which is kind of different and the fact that there's new areas but I've played maybe a total of 6 hours now from the past 2 days and I've come across lots of places that were in Skate 2 that were thrown into the game. I enjoy it, but I'm not wowed by it personally. Maybe give it a rent or see if a friend has it before you buy?

Loving the new city. Although the AI is a bit off for some of the Deathraces, the new tracks are really great, especially the one that goes through the quarry, 'Speed Thrills'.

It depends really much on the city, I now got 2 person saying the opposite things bout it Anyways I couldn't buy it today, but I'm hitting the city monday, there should be nuff footage and reviews on the net by then, so I'll wait. Thanks guys!

is it just me?, or does anyone else find it incredibly hard to do a body flip?

 

i find myself fighting against the left stick sometimes, its kinda wierd, i thought my controller was broke at first. it made it extremely difficult to do the 'Own the Lot' at Maloof Money Cup.

 

Also, they've uploaded DLC already?? Greedy bastards.

Filmer Pack, Adds high resolution videos, a watermark adjuster and increased total vid length to 5 mins and increases total amount of pictures. - 560 points. (not sure for PS3)

 

Time is Money Pack, Unlocks everything you can get from career mode and online, kinda pointless if you ask me, id like to unlock everything for myself. - 400 points. (not sure for PS3)

Absolutely loving Skate 3 at the moment. A few niggles here and there. Anybody else have problems with the server a times? It's quite irritating, and has forzen me and a friend's console on numerous occasions. It seems to be fine now though.

 

Only problem is, my disc got scratched so now I've got to send it back for a replacement.

My damn luck, first the 360, and now this.

Why dont you just take it into GAME or any Blockbuster and ask them to clean the disc for you, basically takes off the top layer with the scratch making it playable again. Only costs about £5 from GAME. Fixed my IV disc right up and it was a pretty deep scratch.

It's two (deep) scratches that go around the whole disc (no kidding).

 

A new copy should arrive no later then Wednesday, which is good.

I just started doing the deathraces, they werent that bad.

 

Then when I got to the carpark one every time I try and grab the board to turn quick while still holding push he keeps doing a f*ckING BONELESS

 

 

I got so angry I actually have dragged my nails down my face and cut all my face up and now I have ripped skin in lines down my face.

 

I havent gotten this angry with a game since, f*ck knows what.

 

Its not even a hard game at all but these f*ckING THINGS making me do f*cking bullsh*t when I dont want pisses me off SOOO f*cking bad.

 

 

START DOING WHAT I TELL YOU FOR f*ck SAKE.

 

 

 

 

OR when you f*cking do a one foot air when you are just trying to land and start pushing again.

 

And when your stupid asshole character wont push fast enough at the start so you always end up last for the first few seconds.

I actually found the Car Park one really easy. It just took a couple of tries to get past the first gap, and then I got the Kill It Time straight Away. I can remember what is called, but there is one that goes down the mountain in the University district, you go across a bridge on it. That was driving me crazy. Because there are parts were it is almost impossible not to crash. But those areas (were you will bail), it will always spawns you in the most idiotic place. Just in front of some stairs (were oyu have just bailed), which you will usually trip on. I also fell over some 'pot-holes' which was annoying. And when I was just about to 'Kill It' my own team in front of the last checkpoint decides to show-off and do a trick; my team mate falls in front of me, and I trip over them, and come 2nd and lose the Kill It Time. Then my disc gets scratched.

 

I wish the game would tell you what you need to 'Kill' every challenge, not just races. Because other than Deathraces, I've only killed two challenges, no matter what miraculous stunt I pull. There definitely is some stupid and annoying niggles in the game, but the positives heavily outweigh the negatives.

This one took me a while. Pumping on the ramp that takes you up to the pipes makes that part easier. As for the final drop into the bank, I never actually landed on the ramp. Try landing on the grass next to it, that worked for me.

Well the problem with the racing. Is going so fast that you catch air off a small curb or bump while trying to turn then you just bail 90 degrees. Not being able to push fast enough at the start. Doing footplants/bonlesses after grabbing to do a tight turn then trying to push again. The car park race annoyed me way more than the last race or any other did. And I only found out you can hit other players till I had done it all.

 

 

The only things that I cant do right now is one film challenge (killed all the rest, I have only owned this one). Where you have to gap over the pluto bar in the solar system bowl. I cant get the height and even when I do, just, I am never the right angle. And the Thorax crush bail challenge to kill it, I can do them all over time but within that time frame I cant get it all done, I have luck with one then I cant do another.

Yeah, some of the Own the Lot challenges were pretty hard. I can't remember the name, but there's one in this pretty small pool where you have to get a 720 spin, took a while of practice to get that.

The hall of meat challenges are starting to piss me off. Why do you have to hit four buttons at the time to go into bail mode? I don't understand they didn't just make it so that you can hit Y when you're in the air to start the bail. Maybe I just have a finicky controller, but I invariably have to try hitting all four buttons two or three times to start bailing, which really f*cks you over on the challenges where you have to soar to a point that's pretty far away. Did the game use this same system in Skate 2? If it did, I don't remember having this much trouble getting my character to bail. It seems like I could hit Y and bail no problem in Skate 2.

God, the maloof money cup one really ticked me off, i failed so many times i just had to lower the difficulty.

I accidently just got the kill 80 challenges achievement. I was trying to save it till later but I got it on the 2nd to last killed 'own the spot'.

 

Pretty crazy.

 

I just get really bored of the jam contests, best trick and anything competitive with other skaters.

I know one of the challenges is pissing me off, something where I have to drop into the bowl, follow the arrows that go round the bowl itself, then under this tunnel then hit this other pipe part and transfer over to the other side, except every time I've gone under this tunnel at speed I aim for the pipe to transfer and because of the speed I pretty much get a slight jump and lose all of my speed, or just go completely the wrong way.
