witsalldonebefor
I was hanging out with Packie yesterday, and said that his father molested him and his brothers when they were kids. Anyone else have this happen to them? It was possibly the most awkward moment I've ever had in this game.

paul
poor guy... but he says lots of cool stuff. I remember one time he was just saying "kill me! kill me!" or something like that ( he was drunk) Edited July 3, 2009 by Greasepalms
buffalosoulj4h20
I like this psychology stuff. You usually see a sociopath shooting and killing, but you don't know why they became that way emotionally. Good to hear and see dark stuff instead of the cliches.
Dillinger8
I also think he might've spent some time committed in an asylum because of it. Just a theory, but it made the Packie character more endearing. He's one of my favorite characters in the game.
JayM
Wow didn't know that, pretty grim. Packie's quite a loveable character when you look past the criminal and murderer and I think he would have made a good protaganist, maybe a future DLC will center around him
Luckster
Molested or beated? I only remember hearing him talk about the latter. Seems that almost everybody in GTA4 have had a difficult father relationship in any case.
TonyClifton
Yeah, I heard that conversation with Packie. It was one the later number of times he and Niko went out together for an activity. I liked Packie as one of the friends, and so took Niko out with him a lot, hence that conversation came up eventually. He definitely said he had been molested by his father, as were some of his brothers. It answered a lot of questions about his drinking, drugs and general attitude. I felt really stunned. It was a straight conversation too, he wasn't drunk and he told Niko he was embarrassed to tell anyone about it. Guess he trusted Niko.

TopHat01
Lately I've ignored all calls from friends, I plan to befriend them all later, lately I've been working on completing the unique stunt jumps and flying rats. I'm sorting the 100% checklist into a priority, getting the harder/more tedious tasks completed first, and then returning to do the easier, repetitive tasks. (With Stevie's cars as the exception, I've already completed those)

A great character.

LOL I know, I just completed the mission for Faustin where you have to go and blow up this building in Bohan (Rigged to Blow), and after the place was on fire and all the firetrucks arrived, I took a taxi and while on the phone Niko said "I blowed the place up, Faustin". XZGamer71
Yeah i know, i was trying to get Liberty City (5) (Yeah f*ck you Dwayne! Why do you have to be 22% when all the other are f*cking 90% Biatch!) And i had to call Packie countless times, and he said that today, i was like... That explains so much. Xz

rampage!
I found that out also. Apparently old man Mcreary molested Packie and Gerald but not the others. Nothing like that ever seemed to happen to Kate. Her worst story was watching the boys fight with each other and their dad. The Mcrearys should have their own DLC. Seachmall
I'd love if they did a game based around the McRearys, maybe set back in the "old country"? There's a lot of possibilities there especially considering R* are taking the series down a more realistic route and dealing with the character's emotions. Plus Packie has a lot of personality, much more than previous characters.

Omnia sunt Communia
The Mcrearys should have their own DLC. I wouldn't mind that. Heck! I wouldn't mind if the Irish Mob were given their own game (set in a different city, of course). Though the DLC episodes were created to sort of "fill-in" the gaps left by GTA IV. Since GTA IV focuses quite heavily on the McRearys, what else would there be to see?
rampage!
That's a good question. Like Seachmall mentioned, they could go back into the Mcreary family's past, when they were a very influential gang (the good old days). I'd personally like to bust Gerry out, but I don't see how that would go with the old days.

He was once arrested in 1999 and wasn't arrested again until 2005. Maybe was was convicted in 1999 and wasn't realeased until somewhen before 2005? I'd love to see a game set around the McReary's personally, or the Irish Mob in general. The Irish Mob are quite powerful in places like Boston and Chicago; maybe a future game could focus on one of those two places and have a strong tie to the McReary's? rampage!
Boston would be my choice. Of course Chicago is in the Midwest, which gets mentioned a lot during the game. Maybe the Irish Mob of Boston is trying to get a bigger foothold in Liberty City and want to use Gerry to do it, like when the Forellis wanted a piece down South in Vice when they sent Tommy down after he was released. Too add onto that i really did enjoy your storyline for Gerald sending him to New England, The thing you did for Seth. I didn't like the setting mabey London Might of done it better. I could imagine him in London having a good Bar Brawl in a local London Pub
TonyClifton
I'd totally play it. Packie is my fave! Me too. There is a great deal of material that could be gleaned from the McCreary's. I liked Gerry too, ruthless, but fascinating.
