Omnia sunt Communia
For a start Bath wasn't named after an actual Bath, not the sort of one you find next to your sink in your bathroom, at least. It was named after the Roman Baths that lay there. I go there quite often and I've yet to see any Roman Sinks.

Jessica NCT
Ireland, aye? Should be interesting. Will Derrick McReary be making an appearance, by any chance? I hadn't actually written him into the storyline - I haven't got that far into it yet - but I might be. (Although, if he's actually from Ireland, then he won't be - I've got a basic list of characters, and they're so far all played from people who come from either Northern Ireland or the Republic. Obviously. Though she may be setting her game before GTA IV and considering Derrick McReary only just returned to Liberty City from Ireland after taking part in The Troubles I think he would be a prime candidate to make an appearance. Well, it is set before GTA4 - 2005/6 - but the introduction is set before the end of the Troubles (which largely revolves around the 1996 Manchester bombing - although it's not actually in Manchester, considering what happened after Sony set a game in its Cathedral). FelipeVinhao
Hmm... São Paulo (Saint Paul) = Saint Thomas (the apostle who doubted the resurrection of Jesus before seeing him, sounds perfect for my idea)

Omnia sunt Communia
Wshington = Warpington in GTA world I prefer the name Lincoln D.C., for Washington. Since Washington was named after America's most popular president it only makes sense to name their version after the second most popular present; Abe Lincoln. FTW_JMe
Here's some crude names I thought of, for a London based game. Winston Heights - A play-on name from Winston Churchill. Wellington Palace - Wellington just sounds so English, taken from Wellington Boots. Kingsley Palace - Kingsley, my friends surname. It sounds really posh and royal. Churchill Vale - Again, a play-on name from Winston Churchill. Heist City - Heist, obviously meaning robbery/hold up. Opulent City - Opulent, meaning wealthy/rich. BVJ
Darwin - Timor (Named after the Sea)Brisbane - Torres Bay (Named after the Torres Straight, 19km North of Brisbane) Adelaide - Kaurna (Named after the Aboriginals in that region) Hobart - Derwent (Named after the river) Melbourne - Wathaurong (Named after a tribe in the region) Perth - Boorloo (Named by the area where the city is by the aboriginals) What about Sydney, and Canberra? Sydney = Botany (from Botany Bay where the first settlers landed). London = Ludchester. London is on the site of an ancient shrine to the old celtic god Lud, and the Roman name Londinium roughly meant 'Lud's Town'. One of the old medieval city gates is called Ludgate. OR London = Britchester. Sounds better than Ludchester and the derivation is more obvious. I've been thinking about districts for a London-based game too. Sloane = Chelsea and Kensington, named after Sloane Square in this district, itself named after the 18th c. landowner that first built the whole area. Cantish Town = Mix of Camden Town and Kentish Town to the north of the old city. Violet Hill, St. Lukes Wood = A couple of trendy districts based on places like Notting Hill, Primrose Hill, and St. Johns Wood around Regents Park. Springfair or Grosvenor = Mayfair, named after the traditional spring fair once held there, whilst Grosvenor was the landowner who built the area.
