CptPusheen
GTA IV's engine only allows 2-bit stipple things at 32*32 Maybe it was 32x32.. I don't quite remember. But after that experiment I know that stipple must be mono... And you meant 1-bit... 2-bits means four colours

Pixelated, LOD's loading badly.

supermortalhuman
So, at the end of the thread here: How did it turn out? Was there a happy medium between tiny stipple and no stipple? Was there some higher-def way of doing the stipple that softened the res-ing of objects? Also - is anyone playing the game on super-high resolution monitor? Does the stipple get less noticeable on fading objects? Thanks all of your help on this everyone, I can't play my IV right now!
ikt
So, at the end of the thread here: How did it turn out? Was there a happy medium between tiny stipple and no stipple? Nope, it's or ugly big stipples or solid things. Was there some higher-def way of doing the stipple that softened the res-ing of objects? Nope, making the res higer while keeping the size, the game f*cks up. More of the ugly, less of the normal. Also - is anyone playing the game on super-high resolution monitor? Does the stipple get less noticeable on fading objects? Thanks all of your help on this everyone, I can't play my IV right now! Using my pic with 2 colors, on medium settings, there is no popping in noticeable. Game just looks awesome. Smooth, objects far away DO fade away, but they fade away later. The standard game engine does have transparency. The fake transparency by the texture just sucks, and is only useful for gaming while the P-blur filter is on. Edit: By the way, i DO have pup-ups, but it wouldn't have been better without the mod. Edited July 10, 2009 by ikt
