GtaHitmanStrikesBack
System: Microsoft Windows XP Home Edition Version 2002 Service Pack 2 Advent 7086 INTEL® Celeron®M Processor 1.40 GHz 1.40GHz,224 MB of RAM Hard Disc Capacity 33.1GB Since the last time i posted about my laptop i didn't have the money to upgrade the ram so its still the same. Yesterday the weirdest thing happened to my laptop. Not too recently i restored the laptop and set it up again because it was so cluttered and it had a lot of problems. So i was on the laptop browsing away and suddenly it made this beeping noise like a phone gone haywire or some sort of dial up sound then it blanked out. So today i tried it again and done the same thing this time i didn't have the internet connected so do you think the laptop is knackered or what. Ive had the bugger for 2 years and it was the worst purchase i ever made.
Cursed
You bought that thing new two years ago? My laptop is two years old and has a Core2Duo T7300 and 2GB RAM. Anyway, does it POST or boot up at all before making the sounds?
GtaHitmanStrikesBack
Sometimes it will boot up fully and let you use it. And others it does it as soon as you turn the power on. The reason i didnt upgrade it is because i use my home pc. And the laptop was more for the on the go use. I was also on a tight budget then so it was all i could afford. Ohh well you get what you pay for i guess.
supermortalhuman
I've got an extra stick of 512mb laptop ram @333mhz CL2.5. It's yours if it isn't an arm and a leg to send it and you cover the ship. Got a spare processor from the same laptop too, don't know the rating, don't know if laptops can plug a new CPU in as easy as ram, but that's yours too. Call it a solid Edited July 3, 2009 by supermortalhuman
Cursed
If it sometimes works fully and sometimes not at all then I would say there is definetly something dodgey going on with your hardware. It's hard to pinpoint what though. Is this sound a series of beeps? If so then it will be a code indicating the problem.

supermortalhuman
Ah! check those beeps! Figure out the pattern, and then google your laptop and beeps and keep adding symptoms but try to find someone who is having your beeps. Or, you can all the manufacturer, sound it out to them or let them hear it, and they can pinpoint it for you
