sananoutlaw
I don't get to sleep until atleast 4am. I've been that way since I was young & I had a real big problem with it at first, but i'm kind of used to it now. Also with the hot weather in the UK at the minute it averages about 6am & I get up at 10am most mornings. You should atleast see a doctor if this isn't usual for you, it can't do any harm, he/she can also ask you questions & give you proper advice on correcting the problem. I never saw a doctor, but then again i've been this way most of my life & accepted long ago i'm a insomniac.
Slamman
Ha, late nighters! Join My Club! I've worked the night shift for the past 20 years pretty much, I feel elergic to the light though! I got a nasty sunburn the week before, I was out in my vert with the top down and no protection! Long nights at work, over time, We now hear IS bad for the body, but nobody died from it. Star-Lord
If it's too hot, and I can't sleep I watch MacGyver. So awesome. But generally I don't have problems sleeping. I'll wake up at noon, and go to bed around 1-2 am, tired as hell even though I haven't done anything during the day. If I'm not asleep by 2 am, I'll turn on the TV and, as I've already stated, watch MacGyver. Hell yea! "MacGyver" rules! That guy could make a b*mb out of a pile of sh*t. OP: See a Doc or what Seachmall said 3x's in a row should do it, you'll be out for days. Though you'll need a lot of red bull after wards.
Slamman
Sometimes during my most desperate nights, I would just down some Nyquil and that would usually knock me out for the night. I suggested that. Sleeping one full night and day cycle is crazy, even for me, but I can see and relate to that, for sure. Once you're in bed, it's so inviting, you can stay there even when you're awake!! serbian warrior
Well, a recurring problem would be what's in Spoiler tags. Mountain Dew, much?
Teqila
Try using diphenhydramine or melatonin. Turn on a room fan or lower the air conditioning temperature before you try to sleep.
blitsie
viks medicine? Never heard about it. Is that like sleep pills or something? Doesn't that harm my health? Viks is usually for blocked noses (the Medinite one is for people who can't sleep). I usually drink it when I have sleeping problems, works wonders. and it doesn't affect your health. But I recommend trying other ways to get to sleep, like reading a book before going to sleep. I usually fall asleep if I daydream. I wish you luck though,I also get times where I can't sleep and it sucks
Breaking Bohan
From time to time even I, B.Bohan, have had trouble falling asleep. To dispel a few myths. First, alcohol will knock you unconscious, but you do not actually get any quality sleep (i.e., REM sleep) - plus drinking yourself unconscious every night is a great way to ruin your life. Second, your family doc can prescribe some sleeping pills - and some of these are NOT controlled substances and therefore may not be as habit forming as traditional benzodiazipines or tranqs. (Try Lunesta for example). However, these will be expensive w/o insurance. Third, drink some warm milk before bed. Don't watch TV before bed or play vid games. Get plenty of exercise, and go to bed at same time every night.
