JCMillerTime Posted July 3, 2009 Share Posted July 3, 2009 (edited) recently I've come across some cheaters, and I don't know how they do it. It's on team deathmatch for ps3. How it works is they somehow get more money than they are supposed to. Unfortunately one of the players is from this site... his name is I wasn't sure at first if he was cheating, he won every game and it didn't seem like he was that good. So I started paying attention to the scoreboard. Every time he would have way more money than kills. Finally I decided to watch it after every kill. I believe every kill he got gave him double. His team had 6 kills, he had 2 and they had $800+ dollars. Another player I've seen cheating is similar situation: tdm. except this time, he had $100 before anybody was killed. He got another $100 after his friend killed me. has anyone ever encountered anything like this? to whom should I report these things to? I recommend that you don't play with these guys because they will cheat you out of your hard-earned victories. --------------- I have been informed that these were a result of players that I can't see, my bad. The stats go all wrong, for example i have 5/4 psn makes it into a 10/8 or 15/12. The other guy tried to make up a lie when I asked him about it, he said I had a teammate that I didn't have. What you had was a game where you personally could not connect to one of the players on their team. You couldn't see him. Next time it happens, look out for messages onscreen saying: *Username* died Instead of *Username* killed *Username* Meaning the players you CAN see are being killed by the ones you CANNOT. If you are on the team with the "invisible" player, you can have great fun messing with people who cannot see him, if he drives cars, drops grenades or shoots areas with RPGs, the damage still applies, the cars spawn when he gets out of them, stuff like that. Invisible players are quite common, I've been on many games where I can't see someone, but my friend can see them, thus I know they are there even though I can't see them. crackdawg Posted July 3, 2009 Share Posted July 3, 2009 (edited) You can't modify content on the PS3 because stored data is encrypted and signed, and RAM data loaded is hashed+encrypted+page locked. You'd have to circumvent the entire security system which starts with code that can't be modified in the CELL flash. The x360 was the same way, it's only hacked because they didn't handle data correctly and a small army of anti-ms goons found a way to exploit it through a DMA attack using the DVD drive firmware. They say only non linux systems get hacked because home brew hacker are the smartest, real reason is the PS3 has a rock solid system and they suck. They'd actually have to use a malicious proxy to manipulate data. It could be glitching though which is another form of cheating. I've caught cheaters red handed and they all blame it on lag and bugs. Also people on PC MP are too stupid to vote cheaters out of games and instead leave thus helping destroy mp. Where do you think I got it from? Lol its from the game detective grove. I learned from tutorial I've definitely started a brand new game with $17 before and small increments like that See? LT kicks ass at TMW, but he is an invite flooder and tends to play AA games to rank up, I assume, so I pretty much only invite him but don't accept his invites.
