This is a new area in the Multiplayer forum of GTAF that allows users and clans to run various meets and tournaments. Before hand, the Gangs area was flooded with events and meets, and it confused members. It was recently decided to make this new board section you see here today. Anybody can start a tournament or meet. However you must make sure it is topic worthy (I.E, you don't just post "Join ma game 2nite guyz!!!!"); keep it respectful and active. You can attract members via graphics, neat layouts, and proper scheduling. Make sure you post info of what the event is about, and what platform/game it is aimed at additionally. Now onto this topic. I made this topic, so there was a list of the important and active areas of the Event section. New topics are constantly being made 24/7 meaning important and popular topics get swept aside. So in attempt to keep things organized, I made this topic so members can find it easier to navigate through the Events section's 'hotspots' and 'attractions'. This is decided by if the topic has enough activity (around 15 pages, regular meets, one the first page). ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Topic Info Host Platforms GTAF Gang League 2010 This is the GTAF's semi-official gang league, that the majority of gangs participate in. All the big names participate here, including: DDZN, TEC, Hare Krishna, The Exiles, A.O.D, and The Yardies amongst others. The league finishes December 2010, so if you want to join then please do so soon. It's allot of fun, and a great way to compete with other gangs and socialize. Last year's event was very successful, and this year's one sees allot of improvements, so be sure to check it out, and enroll! AndySerb 360: IVPS3: IV PC: IV PC: VCMP PC: SAMP Air/Ground War III The innovative topic that is sweeping the Event section to new heights. As the name suggests, the name of the game is all about Annihilators Vs players on the ground. One of the few niggles of GTA IV has been that the Annihilators are too powerful, making the balance of combat unbalanced. This event has changed that with brilliant ground players taking on the air forces and giving them a run for their money. The meets are always on time and played regularly. The event has since branched out to the 360 side, with regular meets every week. However the PC division has yet to kick off, maybe you could help them out? In addition to this a special 'old-skool late-nighter' event is held for the old timers who can not make the new and improved AvsG event due to the changes in times. If you're also interested in that, then go here. ChristopherDBooze T PS3:IV Turf Wars This is another event hosted by the DDZN's very own docrikowski. But instead of TDM, this time it's Turf War. Another popular and active event that is starting a fresh in 2010. It's basic Turf War, but for the up-most skilled and mature players. This is quite the elitists tournament, so make sure you're not a 3yr old brat when you sign up. But if you meet the criteria highlighted in their first post, then prepare for war.... docrikowski PS3:IV [sA:MP] GTAForums.com Deathmatch Tournament 2 Now in it's second incarnation, Edmachine (he's an Admin on the GTAF SA:MP server) is running a duel like tournament on SA:MP AndySerb now takes the helm of this event. The first one was popular, so much in fact, that it felt like it was over before it even began. It's a duel based tournament as already noted, with people fighting one on one in what makes for a fierce and competitive league. Unfortunately all spots have been taken, but be sure to follow and support your favourite members by visiting the topic. AndySerb SA:MP 16 v LCPD One of the most recent event, and surprisingly it's 360 exclusive! The event premise is very simple, players come into the lobby on the day of the event, stock up on ammo and then take specific route (that lasts an hour), with stop off points in which the players fight of Liberty City's finest, until reaching the last location, in which you hold off for the final 10-20mins. It's extremely hectic and dangerous, it's certainly a thrilling event It's very popular and active, so if oyu want to join, make sure to sign up and be on at the specific times (Wednesday & Friday). CopsMustDie 360:IV Roleplay Not exactly a Combat driven event, although there wasn't anywhere else to fit. Besides, it's Roleplay, so you can get into 'combat'. Now more about the event, as already highlighted, this is a Role-playing event, and it's PS3 exclusive. Signing up is easy, you just choose a Name, House, Job & Hobbie. Jobs include being a Taxi Driver, Police Officer and more besides. Although you can live he darker side of life and be a hobo or even a Gang Member, as you fight for and buy turf. The event is very unique, and is as big as your imagination allows it to be. If your looking for a different outlook in GTA, this may be the event that you are looking for. tarnell PS3:IV ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Topic Info Host Platforms Racing League 2010 ||| SA:MP Last year's racing League was hostedo n PS3, but it has now transferred to SA:MP so more people can sign and make it more open to the GTAF public. As like last year, there are teams of 3, and that is the main basis for the tournament. Unlike lat year however, no team is set a specific car, meaning more freedom and balance. In addition to this, there is yet another leaderboard showing the drivers with most points gathered up. Meaning there's plenty of competition to go around. AndySerb SA:MP GTAF RACE LEADERBOARDS 'The doc' has done it again; with what is the most in-depth and detailed racing league to date. Unlike most tournaments, this is a recurring event. There mare multiple leaderboards and tournaments to partake in. There is a basic cup tournament and also duels. The duels is split up into one-on-ones and even Gang Duels. The objective of this event is to gather all the most fierce and competitive drivers on GTAF so they all can have fun racing around the streets of Liberty City. Unfortunately it is only on PS3, so if you play on that platform, then you really have no reason not to sign up for the fortnightly event. docrikowski PS3:IV Guts&Gears Demolition Derby's have been a craze since the days of SA:MP, and have reached huge success in GTA:IV due to it's open gameplay mechanics. Not only that, but the map and vehicles are perfect for such car scrums. User beep41 took it upon himself to make a regularly meet, in which Demolition Derbies are played in a variety of places and using a range of vehicles. The fifth event has just opened so check it out, if the sounds of crumpling metal floats your boat then you better go and check it out ASAP! beep41 360:IV ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Topic Info Topic Starter GTANetwork SA-MP Server Have you got SA-MP? And do you also visit these forums? Well if you are reading this, then the answer is more than likely going to be yes. GTAF, well GTANET to be precise has it's own SA-MP for it's members to indulge in. It is very popular with members who hang around the Multiplayer section of the forums, and rightfully so. With pre-arranged meets and custom modes to keep members busy; it is also open 24/7, so you can enter it at your own free will. It's a bonus for clan's who don't ave their own server, as they can situate themselves here. In addition to this the server has been recently updated with: a new home area, NPC scripts, 250 car spawn locations and 28 new deathmatch zones. With this new update comes the BETA for the long awaited Gang Wars in which GTAF Clans own certain turfs and fight other clans to gain even more turf. It's definitely and exciting time to play on the GTAF server; but make sure you donate some money to help keep it running. GTANetwork SA:MP Screenshots&Videos This is a nice little topic to show off all your multiplayer shenanigans, both in the form of videos and/or screenshots. Any GTA MP applies, meaning you can screenshot SA:MP pics or go all the way to capturing videos of off your home console and posting the videos in this topic. It's also good for the neutral users as well, as it's fun to see what projects and crazy stuff fellow members have been getting up to. So be sure to check it out some time. Knife The Multiplayer Moniter The Multiplayer Moniter is the bi-weekly Newsletter for the Multiplayer section of GTAF. It's distributed neatly in the form of a PDF. So if you haven't got a PDF reader, download one now. The MM (for short) updates it's readers with latest news to do with the Multiplayer section, so if you want to be in the know, then this Newsletter is definitely for you. Not only that, but there are interviews with members, a Q&A, and also articles in every issue. Meaning the readers will always be hooked. Not only that, but polls are run every issue, and these entice readers to get evolved and be more active in reading the Newsletter. It's run by trustworthy and active members around the Multiplayer area, so it just makes it that bit more enjoyable to read. It has since been moved from the Events section to the Gang section and AndySerb has taking the helm from GTArv. However, the MM still heavily focuses on the Multiplayer area, specifically the Events section. AndySerb Guides&Strategies The purpose of this topic is to share your expertise of GTA Multiplayer. Anybody can give formal, simple, and/or in-depth guides in this topic, meaning much can be learned and also taught. Topic starter GTArv keeps an up-to-date list in the opening post, meaning it's easy to find the guides you are looking for (with direct links to them for easier navigation). If you would like to share your wisdom or increase it, then feel free to pop in and have a browse. Here's what I updated: - Got rid of 'Other Events' section seeing as they are all dead and buried. - Moved GTAF Server topic to Event Info section. - Updated Guts&Gears, Multiplayer Monitor & Air/Ground War. - Corrected Links to newer topics. - Made a banner. - Added two new events to the list (360 Race League, SAMP Tournament). - Took Inactive topics off of the list. - Other tidbits. GTArv Posted January 24, 2011 Share Posted January 24, 2011 I'm unpinning this with gamesguru's consent due to the lack of updates, which stems from the fact that there's too much work involved in maintaining the directory. Its not worth the effort and besides the forum does present a list of topics on its own. Using more informative topic titles and descriptions would be the easiest and most effective replacement of this index.
