Oh right, hadn't seen that. Don't count on it actually happening though:

From our own point of view, Mitchell's claims seem unrealistic and do not cite any influencing factors aside from personal theories, so we would advise you to take his claims with a shovel of salt.

Are you sure the “two new downloadable episodes to be released next year for GTA 4” wasn’t posted in 2008 (the year the game came out)? If this was the case TLAD and BOGT would be the DLC they (Rockstar) are referring to.

Well, that was just another part of his speculation, there's no evidence that the dates are correct etc.

As for the actual character, I can't really decide. So far the episodes have been about expanding upon the storyline of IV and forming the 'trinity' of Johnny, Niko and Luis.

Dave: TThis is the article that he is referring to: Click.

It's a new article, but it's just a prediction. There's no factual evidence to support it.

There's a couple ways the analyst could be technically correct but not meaning what we'd hope. Remember analysts generally care about sales, not so much what the products are.

In uninformed analyst-speak, two new DLC packs in 2010 could refer to TLAD and TBOGT being released for the PS3 -- they'd be new for the PS3. The analyst wouldn't know that because it would be secret as long as the 360's exclusivity deal lasts.

From the other part of his comments, a GTA for the PS2 probably refers to Chinatown Wars, since CW has been announced for the PSP. PSP to PS2 was done with GTA Stories.

Less likely, the PS2 GTA could be different than Chinatown Wars but using the same low-res map of the new Liberty City for a GTA III-quality game. Maybe it's a remake of GTA III that retcons the previous series into IV's canon! OK, maybe not.

It seems fishy to me... but these analyst guys have said stranger things in the past that turned out to be true so we'll just have to wait and see. Magic_Al made good points though in that this could be CW coming to PS2 after its PSP release and TLAD and BOGT going to PS3. Still the PS2 thing makes me really hopeful for SAS. Does anyone know anything about CW on PSP, this was actually news to me... I mean they will ofcourse need to tweak it a bit considering that the PSP doesn't have a touch screen, but ever since reading CW's plot (still haven't played it) I've been dreaming of playing it in IV graphics (as it is in the same LC), but PSP version with III era graphics and voice acting would be nearly as good.

There won't be another Episodic Pack. Rockstar already made the 2 exclusive packs and the only way there will be another DLC is if it were for both 360 and PS3. Cars, clothes, maybe even islands! But no more episodic contents sorry.

I'd make the opposite prediction.

Rockstar will not do "content pack" DLC that just adds random items. Every other game company does that and I think Rockstar thinks it's beneath them and lame. The only part of GTA that makes sense to do that is multiplayer, and I'm not sure GTA multiplayer has proved successful enough to justify creating more content for it, or that creating more content for it would make it more successful. Based on what I've read in interviews, GTA fans are mostly interested in the single-player experience.

Episodes provide a full GTA experience, just shorter (and cheaper). There are only three reasons to not do more: Liberty City is played out creatively (I don't think so), episodes didn't sell enough to justify more, or there is something else Rockstar would rather do.

I want one DLC to be about Claude in jail. After four-five missions in jail you get to escape

and do your thing afterwards. I hope :\

Here's a thought:

Why not, you know, make a new game? I'm sick to death of Liberty City, and new episodes aren't doing much for me. So what, we get to explore the same city with a few new guns and cars? They should honestly just let GTA die and focus on new properties. I'll still play all my GTA's, but I'm not going to jizz in my pants for a measly episode.

At least they come up with new main characters each time. If it was Claude Speed XIII 2010: Speed's Seed it would have run aground years ago.

I think Liberty City is elaborate enough to support several stories, especially if more interiors are developed or, if GTA stays in it past TBOGT, if they shift what year it is and make lots of changes like would occur in a real city. The development advantage of staying in one city is that it can gain more detail and features.

Who would make good DLC protagonists? Hmmm...

Gordon Sergeant and Real Badman.

OK, if they were to make a version of LC from like 1979 I'd be ok. That's when New York was pretty bad off with gangs and all that (or at least so I understand). But I am really sick of 2008 LC. I've seen the whole city in every possible way. A few new interiors aren't going to cut it though. I want new land to discover. I know I'm not the only one who feels this way. I could care less about planes and parachutes and jetpacks. Gimme new landscapes.

Rockstar should be putting their resources into the next installment in the series, not a DLC, an actual game....

Plus, Playstation 3 owners aren't going to be too happy if they have to wait another three years for another GTA whilst X-Box owners are handed these DLC's.

I highly doubt we'll see more DLC's.....but don't quote me on it.

They won't make a new GTA so soon, we'll probably get one in late 010.

More episodes don't have to delay a new GTA. It made sense for Rockstar North to do the first two because they were new (and it was probably one of Microsoft's conditions), but other Rockstar studios could do them while R* North works on other things. If a new GTA was two or three years away you bet I wouldn't mind a few more episodes during that time.

Egg sackly, dude. Rockstar knows how to delegate. They got North, Leeds, and a few other studios. They can get one working on the next GTA title, while another studio works on the next best thing since sliced bread.

I don't even need 'episodes' - I'd be happy with some minor dlc's. Eg. new weapons, cars, features, whatever

Anything after TBoGT would be available for both systems. Microsoft only paid for two DLCs to be exclusive

I would LOVE to see the Zaibatsu and Yakuza return and be able to play as a Japanese guy or a member of either of the gangs.

I remember how much fun the Z and Yakuza missions were in GTA2 inlove.gif.

Even the Loonies, SRS and Rednecks would be cool biggrin.gif.
