diablo400
Having gone through some of the assassination missions im finding them too easy. I'm not even a hardcore gamer really only casual. But these missions really should be more difficult. After doing the assassination your wanted rating should jump to about 4 or 5 even. Or make it quite difficult to carry out the assassination from the start. I suppose some would say the last few missions of the storyline were easy aswell. I would agree. Girish
I think all the missions are easy. A few are challenging but with good aiming skills and cover taking ability, you can go through them with ease. I remember getting stuck at multiple points when playing the previous GTA games because I found certain missions just too damn hard but that has not been the case with GTA IV. Standart
is it possible to choose game's difficulty? like easy medium hard ? this is offtopic, sorry
mamaneverlovedme
I respectfully disagree. I think that the older games have very poor driving and AI. Things that pop up out of no where and poor aiming mechanics that make it more difficult. I believe if you remade SA with all the mechanics of IV the game would have been much easier as well. Don't get me wrong, I love the oldies, its just that RS REALLY improved how things flow in this so much that it might have compensated the difficulty a bit. Take San Andreas for example. Most people get stuck at missions like Cesar Vialpando, Life's a Beach, Zero's missions, Learning to Fly and Freefall to name a few. Poor AI has got nothing to do with this. As for driving, there's no way I would have found missions with RC planes and stunt planes easier even if the handling was the same as IV. They would have still been just as annoying.

I hated those RC Missions. I also felt that annoying "pop-ups" and sometimes the AI would get in the way.

mamaneverlovedme
All I'm saying about bad AI is that I feel that in the previous 'Cannon(s)' whenever you were about to turn a corner, an AI car was right there blocking you or to crash into. Allmost on purpose wich made those in city races really hard to beat. We all know how difficult the targeting system is. I mean put in III and I still have trouble taking people out. Algonquin Assassin
I don't know about anyone else, but I absolutely hated being stuck on missions in past games. I like a challenge, but I also don't want my interest of the game being slowly sucked out, and unfortunately that's what used to happen. GTA IV's missions IMO are a good variety of difficulty. At the end of the day I just want to play through the story. I do NOT want to be stuck on missions for lengthy amounts of time.

I think it was the RC plane one. I could be wrong but i failed so many times that i had my lil bro pass it for me. After that i was good to go but i have to chuckle at how completely stuck and frustrated i was!

I was stuck on "Wrong side of the tracks" for a long time though. It wasn't catching up to the train that annoyed me, it was Big Smoke's horrible shooting. mamaneverlovedme does have a point. If you transferred the mechanics of GTA IV over into the old GTAs they would be easier. Particularly with shootout missions. NinjaWJ
i found GTAIV pretty easy if you used the cover system correctly and drove fairly decent. I think the past GTAs were harder for me especially in GTAVC where you had to race Hillary and Zeros missions in SA. Those pissed me off so much and it was a relief to have completed them
diablo400
I agree with the points being made about the missions seeming easier because the game mechanics have been improved. Especially the cover and targetting functions. From what i can recall the slightly trickier one was in the derelict building.
