Slamman
The Streets of San Francisco fell silent today...to pay tribute to 98 year old Karl Malden, who died of old age at his home. He was one tough cookie. Known for his American Express adverts; "Don't Leave Home Without It!!" Another celeb's, this time, not so un-timely, demise edited; Sorry I got the name wrong with the spelling, I just watched it on the news, didn't catch the spelling Edited July 2, 2009 by Slamman
Don Garcia aka NjNakedSnake
Who? EDIT: OH, that guy! The one with the bulbous nose. And it's spelled Malden... Seriously, not every person who has attained some semblance of fame needs a topic made for their passing. f*ck it, RIP. Let's move on. dice
He is Karl Malden and was an old actor. I watched a block buster in TCM yesterday called The Streets of San Francisco and he starred as the main actor. And yes, Slamman made a pun
darthYENIK
This sucks. I loved him on Miracle on Ice as Herb Brooks. Like him even more than Kurt Russell's Herb. Good to see old Karl lived to a good age. R.I.P. Malden and Brooks.
Slamman
He starred in "Streetcar Named Desire". I always prefer when they do retrospectives on entertainer's lives, they do leave a great legacy and body of work. One of the reason's I'm following the MJ story, he lived a reclusive life style to an extent. Streets wasn't a movie more then it was a TV show with a very young, and promising Michael Douglas!! GodfatherITB
I counted six topics having to do with death on the first page. RIP, nonetheless.
Slamman
Not to get OT in a obit topic, but this subject of paying tribute is not a new one, we've documented celeb deaths before. This whole forum is dedicated to Entertainment pasttimes, and movie and TV as well as actors in games make up a large part of that
Breaking Bohan
Sad to hear this old man died. May his life be memorialized in this thread. RIP
Seachmall
RIP and what-not but he was 98 and died of old age. Topic worthy? I'm sorry but all these topics are getting a bit much, celebs die daily and it seems like lately we've been documenting them all. I'm not trying to start an argument I'm just giving my opinion. Seachmall awaits onslaught of "you didn't have to come in here ya' know!" and other similar comments.

I agree, if anything we should just designate a single topic to these deaths, when half the forum gets flooded with these topics it can become out of hand. Celebrities don't die daily, at least not until a couple weeks ago. Well, you didn't have to come in here. It seems to me like a bunch of you people just don't know who he is, therefore are finding his death (or life) meaningless.

Face McDougal
I beg to differ, people die everyday, Celebrities don't Celebrities aren't people? They're mostly inanimate, either digital transmissions or made up of microscopic dots of varying color, part of our brain. Real people? They're expendable. Let Robert De Niro die, his guts splashed across the asphalt in Tribeca, we'll enjoy him forever still!
Slamman
Real people is not what I meant, in keeping it short and concise, I meant Everyday people, not those in the envious position of a great career with loads of dough and adulation from us slobs! BTW, I meant to post the advert earlier, and this has been up for some time, I'd not seen it in ages!!!
